The Waifu Scrolls

       Skyrim

De-Waifu Edition

This one... got a little away from me.

Time for a normal rotation, my next Kommission, and then the winner of the MG poll, Waifu Ring!

Oh, you bastard, I was about to go to sleep! Now I have to read this! But seriously, thanks for the update!

UponAPaleHorse45

dude... that is the kind of hell that I never thought of before. Like ... I'm honestly shocked at just how horrible of a fate that would be. I want more, and I'm sort of ok not getting more. haha

SoraWolf7

This was a very good exploration of the kind of tropes not many people think about. I've seen this sort of thing brought up ONCE, and that was in Hero BBS. And yes, anyone would go mad to this sort of experience, without something to shake things up, to satisfy out innate need for social interaction. Excellent, 10/10, I love it and want more.

InspiredWizard

Holy crap that was amazing. Loved the moment he realised he was stuck in a game world.

Xisaro

Man, this kinda gave me an existential crisis about my own Skyrim playthroughs. I really hope we get another chapter where he actually interacts with the Dragonborn. She seemed pretty yandere so that should be fun. My first move after Irileth became real for a bit would be to 1) get strong enough to reliably kill a dragon 2)kill another dragon while holding Lydia with the shroud... maybe try it with a more expendable npc follower and bind them to see if it sticks then do Lydia. I don't know if this was an mc mistake but Mirmulnir wasn't resurrected by Alduin he and Parthanax were among the few still alive, if I recall correctly. I know I'm being pedantic but it's a piece of lore I always remember for some reason. Overall great chapter! Edit: Forgot to mention, it seemed like Alduin and Mirmulnir reacted to him so I assume dragon soul makes you real, so why didn't Alduin talk to her while she had him tied up... or Parthanax?

JohnJohn2195

the skyrim yandere route has unlocked for lee as he tries to find a way to make at least one person real and no longer a npc. almost started to think lee ended up in another agents punishment's world and they just sorta forgot bout her and with that other pov it really seemed like it. I mean mind wipe could have happened to em and they just keep repeating the game forever till someone in management saw a skrim world they could put back in rotation.

Tyric Gaias

My question is, why was the Dragonborn aware? Like… what the fuck? Who or what brought that aware soul and just… left her there?

Seraphi

God damn it, stop releasing stories i want to comission. Also bet its somehow jyggalags fault.

Seraphi

It seems like dragons are still somewhat aware so i guess her soul is protecting her.

Zerak

So at first I thought some company fùckery was going on, but damn do I feel ultra bad for the Dragonborn. I wonder how ecstatic she would be at tasting lure level cooking. Though he might need sweets home for that (getting actual ingredients), not sure. I hope she doesn’t end up constantly chasing Lee only to be late, no one deserves that fate. This shit right here is why eldritch horrors are fucking scary, they break you in ways that can’t be avoided. This Is officially my favourite after LAUGHTER. Something about eldritch shìt is just fascinating. And while the SAO ones is the actual eldritch fic, it just doesn’t hit the same.

Shadowlier

That moment when Irileth turned back into an NPC is like seeing a man stuck on a deserted island for months only to finally see a plane/boat that could save him only for it to go right on past without him. That moment really hit like a punch in the gut, great job.

Gezartos

Soo.... Hands up for those that remembered certain 2-part porn comic?) NPC that go about their 'life' with minimum interaction or reaction to PC's actions? Thats many opportunities..)

TheTinyGrayDog

Yeah my heart broke when I read that. And that moment when Irileth's eyes widened just made me wonder if she felt herself fade away

Templar9999

I am loving how you have handled this MG. Especially because it fits into the deep lore of the elder scrolls. A character developing awareness of them being in a game, or a dream as it is referred to in universe, is part of the lore. And the first step in achieving freedom from the dream and stepping into the wider reality. CHIM is a hell of a drug.

Dragonhulk

I think you just found a worse personal hell than LAUGHTER. The scientific experiment with the rats was particularly horrifying and appropriate. Well with this read it's off to search for another job so I'll have enough money to pay off my debts and commission works from you.

JohnJohn2195

Was trying to remember what that one reminded me of and it hit me in the afternoon. Westworld the show. I never saw the movie.

MajorPane

So from the dragonborn's POV it looks like this is a progressive effect caused by an external entity. Calling it now, Lee's found himself trapped in the domain of the Dark God Todd Howard; this is how new copies of Skyrim are made.

daniel koval

Good writing but holy fuck that’s a bleak and mind breaking, soul crushing existence. I expect to see a bunch of time loop shenanigans out of our two adventurers.

Apeljohn

I'm still wondering what it was that made Irileth a person for those few moments, and if he could replicate it. (Then Bind them to fix it in place.) Something to do with excess dragon soul spillage maybe?

Shadowlier

My going theory is extended exposure to his shroud, even if he's not eldritch in this one there's all kinds of unexplained metaphysics that go on behind how the shroud functions

Chaeden Amastis

....fuck. I wasn't really enjoying this one but the Irileth bit and the dragonborn's reaction at the end have made me interested. I AM kinda wondering if the world DOES actually scale to level like he was expecting it to.....its just that its scaling to HER level not his and she's not gimped on xp gains.

bigreaderpike

I've only read the first 40 pages he's in a world that follows the rules of Skyrim the game isn't he? Does that mean it has all the bugs too? And the exploits is everyone in the world a dumb NPC?

DeadUltra OG

do you plan on doing more of This fic or is it just a Oneshot and your probably not going to ever return to it?

PublicLee Speaking

It's been commissioned on Kofi (or Kommissioned, as I like to say!) And is actually next up for me to get to, after I do two rotations of my main 3 stories.
