I'm sad that I have to disagree that this healthcare bill won't go through. What the Republicans are doing in the Senate is the same thing they did in the House. They introduce a piece of terrible legislation, everyone bickers over how bad it is, then they make changes according to the complaints. However, when they introduce the original bill, they don't actually expect it to pass. They're simply moving the "Overton Window". Once they introduce the bill they know will never pass, they can shift the conversation to what IS acceptable (among their party). Once they have shifted the Overton Window, they've set the acceptable standards of discussion for healthcare within their party, and work within that new expanded window. It's similar to "anchoring" in a discussion; starting out with a large number so that when you state another number it seems smaller by comparison. They're proposing a terrible bill that they know won't pass, only so that they can later introduce a slightly "less" (or possibly more) terrible bill than originally suggested. Over the next few weeks we'll see different Republicans talking about what a bill they could vote for would look like, special handouts to the holdout voters (same thing that happened with the ACA) and it'll pass along party lines. While this looks like a party in comical disarray, what they're doing is absolutely a recognized and proven strategy. Also; Whenever someone suggests privatizing firefighting, link them these articles: (It fails spectacularly) http://www.nytimes.com/1998/03/13/nyregion/experiment-in-private-fire-protection-fails-for-a-westchester-village.html?mcubz=0 (The firefighters show up only to spray the neighboring home that payed the annual fee, while letting the home that caught on fire burn - all because they didn't pay the $75 annual fee) http://www.nbcnews.com/id/39516346/ns/us_news-life/t/no-pay-no-spray-firefighters-let-home-burn/#.WVk3aNOGORs

I appreciate your deconstruction of the enigmatic "internet tax" tweet. I had been scratching my head over it, not being sure whether it's my limited fluency in English or Mr. Trump's...um, limited fluency in English. :) ETA: And thank you for reading my name in the "newest patrons" section! It's actually pronounced Ah-yah, a traditional Japanese female name.

Hey guys, I had sent in my call to prayer right at the finish line of last years deadline. I never heard anything back from you guys though. Positive or negative. I was just wondering if you had gotten it or just couldn't play it?
