Animation can be just as much about leaving drawings out, I'm finding. I took out frames from the end of one scene and the beginning of the next, making a cut for immediacy! (Ginger finds Slug on the floor, out cold!)

Say, Milton, lemmie get this straight. In your drawn cartoon animation, you’ve edited the filmed scene to tighten up the timing and pacing ⏱️, am I right?

Yes. these are scanned jpgs that I enter into ezgif.com. I see each picture in a frame on a chart and can run the gifs, deciding what frames can be removed to "tighten up" the action.

In this case, I had drawn an entire scene with Ginger exiting the frame until she was out of the screen. After running the gif, I decided that the pacing would have more snap if I cut the scene *just before* she exits. Then I cut the first drawing of the next scene that she enters. The first scene 'hooks up' with the next. It says what needs to be 'said', but more urgently. I have learned to drop unnecessary drawings, even when they're good.
