Very productive week. I must spend more days without Facebook!

I find it nice working on several canvases at a time, using the same colors and seeing them develop simultaneously.

I was inspired to write a small passage for an instructional book, if I ever do one:

HOW I CAN

I can imagine, nay, know that some cartoonists will say about this book, “He's wrong; that's not how you do it.” Among the joys and beauties of doing non-SIMPSONS, rigid, “on-model” work is that one can alternate approaches. The approach I take on one work would be wildly inappropriate for the next. This one is not a “how to”. It's a “how I would”, or a “how I can”.

This morning, a site called Shelfdust posted a wonderful, thoughtful and wholeheartedly gracious article on my first independent comic, HUGO, and the work that has followed. What a wonderful birthday present!

Best Wishes,

Milt
