STORY----------
"Yes! I want her! I want to live with her!""Happiness is a good thing. I want you to be happy, dear. But your safety comes first. She cannot give you that. I’m sorry, son. But I’m not going to risk your life by letting you be with her.""MOM! NO!"Xolani didn’t answer. Her lips parted slowly, and the enormous maw opened before the tiny girl, not in a snarl, but in complete silence. The wet, glistening cavern behind her fangs stretched wide. Saliva shimmered under the warm sunlight. Her breath spilled outward in gentle, rhythmic bursts, each one making Rina’s hair flutter and her clothes cling to her skin. The sound of shifting, wet saliva, alive and vivid, filled the ears."PLEASE!PLEASE!"Rina yelled and sobbed, her voice high and cracking as her body was pulled closer. Xolani’s expression didn’t change. Elias screamed again."MOM!"The fingers let her go, and Rina slipped free. She slid off the claws, tumbling through the warm air in a blur of flailing limbs. She hit Xolani’s tongue with a wet slap, skidding forward on the slick, pink surface. Her hands clawed uselessly at the velvet flesh, nails scraping against the mucus-slick muscle. Before she could crawl or scream again, the tongue lifted, rolling her inward. Her body was pressed softly but firmly against the roof of Xolani’s mouth before her lips closed tight."NO!"Elias wailed. His heart jackhammering against his ribs. He dropped to his knees on the table. From his view, it looked unreal. Her mouth gently closed. Her jaw worked once, twice. Her cheeks barely moved. A soft swallow followed. Just the smallest twitch of her throat as it contracted. A subtle gulp. A small lump in the throat.Gone.Elias watched the girl he loved disappear, vanishing from the face of the earth into his mother’s depths. Xolani rose from her chair like a mountain. Her presence loomed above him, enormous and silent, before she began to speak again."I’m sorry, son. But you left me no choice. As a mother, I need to protect you, even if you make bad decisions. And she … was a bad decision."Inside, Rina slid helplessly down the slick tunnel, her cries muffled by flesh. Heat pressed from every side. Muscles rippled around her, guiding her deeper. The world narrowed to the thump of Xolani’s heart and the steady groan of motion around her.The descent slowed as the muscles relaxed briefly, cradling her in damp warmth. The air was thick and humid, laced with a sharp tang of breath and saliva. It filled her lungs and coated her skin. Her arms thrashed uselessly. The walls pressed inward again. Slow, rhythmic contractions that pulsed like a heartbeat. Every sound was agonizing. The groaning flex of flesh, the echo of a heartbeat, the booming digestive gurgles."Let me out."She screamed again. None who heard could have helped her. The tunnel curved. Wet squelches, low groans, the rhythmic churn of a massive body preparing itself.Preparing for her.She gasped, sobbing, her arms braced as best she could. The chamber below accepted her without effort. Her feet struck something yielding, then her knees. Her whole body spilled into a cramped, pulsing sac that squeezed lightly in greeting. Mucus clung to her from head to toe. The walls glistened in darkness, warm and restless. The smell hit her like a train: pungent and acidic. She retched and gagged, pressing her palms against the stomach lining that embraced her like a warm, wet blanket. The stomach pulsed in acknowledgment. The walls tightened slightly around her in a slow, possessive ripple. Above, the sphincter closed as she was squeezed through with a soft, wet squish, sealing her in absolute darkness and death.Time and matter melted in the dark. Rina didn’t know how long she lay there, curled tight, soaked in warmth and horror. Every breath she drew felt heavier, each one laced with an acrid tang that clung to the back of her throat. Her eyes stung, her skin prickled. She couldn’t see, but she could feel everything. The chamber moved constantly. Slow ripples passing through the walls. Subtle at first, like the twitch of someone shifting in sleep. Then another.Another one.Rhythmical."AAAAHHHHHH!"Rina screamed and slapped at the walls, but they only flexed in response, rippling beneath her palms like living rubber. Beneath her, the floor of the stomach sloshed faintly as the fluids trickled in from unseen glands. Every movement drew a counter-movement. The heat rose, and so did the acid."Help … me ..."She whimpered, her voice hoarse and nearly gone. No answer. Just the soft, slow churn of the acidic chamber. The stomach kneading its meal. It worked on her as any other meal it had received over the years.Slowly, wetly, and patiently.Outside, all hope was lost for her boyfriend.Elias stayed on his knees. His hands trembled against the polished wood of the table, but his gaze never left her face, Xolani’s face. The one that used to smile at him across summer picnics, the one that used to hum soft lullabies as she carried him to bed, the one that now stared at him, waiting for an answer. She hadn't even chewed. The thought looped in his head. She hadn’t even chewed. His girlfriend was gone. Just gone. In one motion. No scream from Xolani. No snarl.Just a swallow. He stared at her throat again, as if he might see something. A bulge. A twitch. A sign. But there was only stillness now.Composure.Elias’s vision blurred."You… you ate her."Elias whispered, as if saying it aloud might make her deny it.Her eyes weren’t cruel. They weren’t angry. That was the worst part. They were calm. Deep. Something ancient simmered behind them. something that had never been human to begin with. She tilted her head faintly, and for a moment, Elias saw the beast in her."We'll talk when you calm down."She spoke softly as she rose to her feet."HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?! YOU DIDN’T EVEN KILL HER FAST! YOU JUST SWALLOWED HER ALIVE!"He shouted. But Xolani said nothing more. She turned, her footsteps heavy yet quiet, retreating down the hall as if nothing had happened at all.Elias was left alone. Utterly alone.Xolani paused in the kitchen. Her son was right. She had been needlessly cruel. She could have ended Rina’s life faster. Cold water poured into a tall glass. She drank.Refilled.Drank again.A third glass, slower this time. Not because she was thirsty. But because it might help. At least, it might help the tiny girl trapped in her stomach. To end her still suffering faster.Inside, Rina felt the change immediately with the first glass of water. The stomach walls had been rhythmically kneading her for what felt like hours, wrapping and folding around her with slow, uncaring manner. Acid clung to her. Painful, stinging, but not yet deep. Her breathing was shallow, every inhale a fight against the heavy air. Then came the rush.A sudden wave of liquid swept through the chamber. Rina gasped involuntarily as water sloshed around her legs, then her waist, then her shoulders. It was cold compared to everything else in the organic prison. Almost relieving, until it kept rising. The water filled the limited space quickly, pushing her upward against the slick ceiling. Panic returned in full force.“No, no, no, no.”She thrashed. Her fingers clawed at the glistening flesh, but there was no leverage. No purchase. Just walls that shifted and breathed, accepting her as part of the meal. Her chin went under the surface. Then her mouth. She sputtered, choking. Her arms and legs flailed, palms kicking against the pulsing ceiling, her body convulsing as it tried to reject what the Xolo had offered.Eventually, Rina’s movements stopped entirely, forever.
