The Last Hike (Patreon)

Ava Turner was a fearless adventurer, known to her followers as the “Wilderness Queen.” Her social media was filled with thrilling hikes and serene nature scenes, all showcasing her beauty and strength. Her latest journey, however, was different—it was supposed to be her most daring solo hike yet, deep into the Blackwood Forest, a remote location known for eerie legends.
She was well-prepared: fit, armed with knowledge of survival, and accustomed to pushing herself beyond her limits. Yet as she ventured further into the woods, the towering trees seemed to press in on her, casting shadows that played tricks on her mind. She dismissed it, convinced that the isolation was all part of the thrill.
On the third day of her trek, Ava found an area that seemed strangely familiar, though she had never been to this part of the forest before. She felt watched, a presence lurking just beyond her sight, hidden among the trees. Her usual confidence started to wane, but still, she continued.
It wasn’t until she sat down to rest on a fallen log that she noticed the silence—the birds had stopped chirping, the wind had stilled, and the air felt thick with something… wrong. A chill ran down her spine, and when she stood up, that’s when the pain hit.
Out of nowhere, a sharp, burning sensation tore through her chest. She gasped, looking down to see a small wound, as if something invisible had pierced her flesh. Panic set in as she staggered back, searching for the source of the attack, but the forest was empty.
Ava clutched at her chest, feeling her heartbeat slow as the wound began to spread—a black, festering hole, unlike anything she had ever seen. Her legs gave out, and she fell onto the log, gasping for breath, her strength fading fast. Her mind raced, trying to comprehend what had happened, but the answers eluded her.
She writhed in agony, her body collapsing onto the forest floor. Desperate, Ava reached out, her hand scraping against the fallen leaves and dirt, trying to crawl away from whatever unseen force had claimed her. Her breaths became shallow, her vision dimming as the trees loomed over her, indifferent to her fate.
In her final moments, Ava’s wide eyes stared up at the forest canopy, her chest heaving one last time as the life drained from her body. Blackwood Forest had claimed another victim, its cursed legend now part of Ava's story—lost to the wilderness she once commanded, devoured by an ancient malevolence that no one would believe existed.
Her body would never be found, just another unsolved disappearance, leaving only her chilling final posts as a haunting reminder of her last hike.
