The rain fell in relentless sheets, each droplet striking the pavement like the steady beat of a funeral dirge. Her breath came in shallow gasps, chest heaving as blood trickled down the curve of her body, mingling with the rain. She had been careless tonight—too focused on the hunt, too intoxicated by the scent of fear wafting from her prey. And now, she paid for it.

"Oh... so close, and yet..." she whispered to herself, her breath hitching, savoring the moment like a fine wine. She grasped her left breast, feeling the fading beat of her heart, the slowing rhythm intoxicating her. With each arch of her back, each labored breath, she danced at the edge of oblivion.

But Lilith never gave in so easily. Death was a game she played often, and she always came back to win.

The rain continued to fall, and Lilith stood there in the street, a monument to twisted beauty and pain, waiting for the perfect moment to strike again. The hunt would resume, soon enough...
