Story: The Heart’s Weakness

The steam-filled marble bathroom was silent except for the steady rainfall of the shower. Sable Voss stood under the hot water in a sleek black bikini, the fabric clinging to her perfect curves like a second skin. Her long dark hair hung heavy and wet down her back. For a moment, the most dangerous woman in the world allowed herself to relax — shoulders loose, eyes closed, the water cascading over her pale skin.

She never heard the window break.

The red laser dot appeared first — a tiny, malevolent point dancing across her collarbone before settling directly over her heart.

Sable’s eyes snapped open. “You—”

The shot was almost silent.

The bullet struck true. Her body jerked violently as the round punched through the center of her chest, just above the black bikini top. Blood sprayed in a bright arc, mixing instantly with the shower water and turning it pink as it ran down her body.

She staggered, one hand flying to the wound. Her fingers came away crimson.

“You… got me good,” she gasped, her voice low and husky even in pain. A bitter, seductive smile tugged at her full lips as she slid down the wet marble wall. “Right in the heart… my only weakness.”

She slid to the floor, legs sprawling. The water continued to pour over her as she clutched the small, ragged hole in her chest. Blood pulsed between her fingers.

Sable Voss — immortal spy, femme fatale, the woman who had cheated death for decades — looked up at the ceiling with those striking dark blue eyes.

“Not… bad,” she whispered, her voice growing fainter. “For a mortal…”

Her head fell back against the tile. One final, soft gasp escaped her lips as the life left her body. The water kept falling, washing the blood across the marble in delicate rivers.

The most beautiful woman in the universe lay still in her black bikini, the shower still running, as if nothing had changed.

But everything had.

The heart had finally won.

I like that it's an actual story and consistent character. I prefer the longer scenes (that can actually tell a story) rather than just stitching together random brief segments. Also the bullet wounds and blood effects were nice! Definitely two sniper shots to her chest there, big holes and lots of blood. Cool scene!

Wanda Fantasy
