Love dad lore it really does come out at a weird time 😂

Thanksitscrochet

My sister may have to thank you bc I would like to see cabaret now. I didn’t realize what it was about before but I knew it wasn’t Chicago.

Lightly Mothered

Alex and Mrs. P! Please Watch Anna and the Apocalypse it is a musical… set at Christmas… with Zombies

snelly

happy belated birthday?? idk if we know when either of your birthdays are but sounds like they were around this time?

Arlo the Average

I appreciate book club being on Wednesdays. I miss the mid-week warmup so it’ll be nice to have something

Moth_Goblin

Mrs. P book club is chaotic reading rainbow

Tyrannosaurus Bex

Happy to be here, thank you for emphasizing the importance of art and history in these wild times, also so much love and respect for Mrs. P's NY gluten-free food tour

Sunshine Magik

One of my favorite Christmas movies!

Plz just hit the air horn for my name

Super cool with the book club switch back to original, but I do desperately hope you don’t switch to just chatting about whatever on the pod. I really enjoy the history lessons about one topic! Maybe once a month an episode like last weeks? But the research is what has kept me around since day 1!

TwrexxSmash

Harrisburg mentioned 🖤 Sorry bout the 'vid, I swear it isn't all terrible here 😸🫥 Loving the new format, BTW! Book clurb name ideas: Mrs. P's Clif Notes (get the bars to sponsor you so not trademark infringement maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️) Storytime w/ Mrs. P Mrs. P's Book Talk Mrs. P Reads it (so you don't have to) Bookmania 5000📢!📢!📢! (airhorn emoji must be included)

MY_CATS_ARE_ORANGE

Could call the book club "TLDR" since you don't have to actually read the book!

Witch Of The Waste

When you said sex toy company I imagined bellessa reached out….definitely didn’t think it would be THAT!

Alan's performance in the 90's Cabaret is hands down my all time favorite performance of an actor ever. I rewatch the videos on youtube quite often. Glad people are appreciating the story again but sadly far too late. Ironic given the whole point of the story. Anyway....back to my depression bunker.

Redacted for Fun

I love the idea of moving shout-outs to the warm up and to have book club be it's own thing again [I know it isn't a new book, I know it's indie, I know there's a poll coming up, but I am going to keep tilting at the windmill of a book club episode about Hunger Pangs by Joy Demorra]. I feel so seen by Alex and his Feelings about Eddie Redmayne because Eddie gives me the ick. I am sure he is great and probably makes great omelettes or donates money to save endangered English hedgehogs or whatever. I am also friends with someone who would say "yes" if he knocked on their door at 2 AM and said "Come with me." It takes all stripes of folks, this being a human being thing. Also it sounds like that production of Cabaret was amazing, between the overt stuff and the more subtle stuff. Very sad that subtlety is dead, though. A...fun...story from when I used to volunteer at a local community theatre is when I was in the lights booth above the audience. We had just finished up a performance of The Laramie Project, and a guy in his 60s [thinking he was just with his friends, not knowing I was kind of there] said "that was really good. I thought it was going to be about gay agenda and guilt." Like...THE LARAMIE PROJECT. It literally is spelled out for two hours that gay people matter and the hatred they face is dangerous and that the communities that fail them should feel guilty for failing them. As for the sitch we find ourselves in as a country - I am trying to salvage what I can and when I can of the culture we have been enjoying since 2008. I am writing it down so that maybe some small glimmer of it can be saved. Even to look back at. ....sorry for the essay, I had a lot of feelings.

Theresa

Thought….stop doing shout outs! We like you, we follow you, who cares?

Pelicans are my favorite dinosaur

I'm thrilled you got to see Orville Peck as the emcee. His voice is wonderful. The biggest name I've seen on stage was when I saw "The King and I" in about 1979 with Yul Brenner.

Chekhovs_Gunnilingus

Maybe instead of Book Club you can call it Mrs. P’s Story Time (not fancy, I know, but it gets the point across quickly)

Maxi Millions

Been dying to see Orville Peck on broadway and listening to this last night sealed the deal. Only I’m five hours away. By airplane 😅

Overeasylikeyourmom

Loved this warmup! Vibing out with the Linrary Addict would be funny! Side note: why does Harrisburg have such a dark aura even on the nicest days?

Rachel Clement

I still really love the researched lore episodes

Nikki Ann

Why wouldn’t anyone have not heard of the capital of PA? Oh wait. Sorry I forgot we live in this *gestures around* place.

Smiling, nodding, didn’t get the joke

I love the passion and excitement Alex has talking about Cabaret and getting his messiah complex back, it’s been a dark few months. I’m so invested in this goose. I’m hoping it shows up on Mrs. P’s ig from time to time this summer.

Meows Eisley

Im doubled over laughing about shirtless old men jump scaring you when you have explosive diarrhea.

Mad Bob

Praise Pearlman 🙌

Nicholemarie303

Would you accept crocheted goose outfits?

PeanutButterNRJam

I need to see the one holiday sweater/ outfit per month.... give me Easter Goose, Labor Goose, Halloween Goose! But Thanksgiving Goose needs to be either freaked out or a Lil bit unhinged...

Nicholemarie303

I’ve considered becoming a member for a while. But goose content sealed the deal.

Lora Dailey

Same! I love a researched deep dive.

MeliWillow

I get my best housework done with bookclubs!!!!!!!!!!!

ItchyN1pples

My mother works at the local mall, there’s a gang of masked tween thieves who target the adult toys at Spencer’s. We have dubbed them the Dill Don’ts. I’d like to see ai replace that. Also all hail the goose.

MillennialCatMom

Me knowing about cabaret an realizing now I’ve never seen it 😂 apparently now I need to go watch it.

Lesssley_loves_cats🐱_and_frogs🐸

This warmup is so inspiring and beautiful, I'm kinda glad y'all did it again, cause this feels like everything I've needed to hear lately. I need to watch this musical so I can experience this as y'all did ☺️

PeanutButterNRJam

You don't need a peeler... just use a knife! Don't do more dishes!

Fall_Babe

Thank you for the Cabaret discussion. My wife and I did see it with Eddie (but because Bebe Neuwirth was in it!) and we were freaking blown away. Loved hearing your journey with it! ❤️

Darth_Meegan

Literally saved me from so many crap work days/boring meetings/ & mindless scrolling

Deafleader

Is there a record of the news nation bit 🥴

Deafleader

Awww I wanted to hear more about the food capers 😔 GF spots are iconicccc
