Today I learned how similar Utah alcohol sales laws are to Pennsylvania’s - I had no idea 🤯. Liquor stores are state run here, though we can buy beer in the grocery store without a dinette being present (and no separate counter). Only 5% or less ABV in the grocery stores though.

Omg I didn't know Pennsylvania had a licbo like Canada! Here in Washington state, we used to have to go to the liquor store for the hard liquor but now it's in the grocery stores with everything else. It really is pretty much paradise out here lol 🤣 Also I'm sitting here listening to this in my garden, having just returned from buying a six pack of PBR at the store specifically for this purpose, planting lettuce and getting ready to fill up my cute new beer trap that I couldn't resist ordering on Etsy. It looks like a little amanita mushroom with a slug on top of it and the only difference between that and just a regular dish is that it has a lid to keep the rain from watering down my beer. I cannot wait to see how it works !

Meanwhile in Wisconsin, I was delivering mail on Saturday and thought I pulled up to a lemonade stand outside a store, but they were only serving beers for tourists and shoppers to drink while walking around the tiny downtown in our little town.

I was So Confused about the beer in grocery stores thing, because when I was in college the Giant that was my go to stop for study fuel had booze as soon as you walked in. Then you said the thing about the sitting/dining area and it clicked! Because the booze was right between the tables, and the Chinese take out place that was my entire reason for going to Giant.
