I was JUST looking up fish recipes to make! Coincidence? I think NOT

Rogue Rabbit

Seeing the pic of the bowl in my podcast app really blew my mind lol This recipe sounds bomb too I could really use something like this ty!!

Peach

I’ve made this bowl twice and the enchilada bake once already. I’m getting so much use out of that cookbook!

Hey Pearlmanias! I am also going to be in a health journey too so I appreciate the a) vulnerability from Mr about how he felt. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cis dude influencer talk that they don’t like their body. b) and a fun tasty recipe that I know has been vetted by a great cook. I will say, I definitely recommend the podcast Maintence Phase, and the book Health at Every Size by Linda Bacon (I believe they transitioned and are now Lindo Bacon, but I know [as a librarian myself] not many libraries update trans authors names).

I have an instant pot and I have decided that it’s basically the same thing as a rice cooker. In my defense it was $8 at the thrift store

I am vegan (have been for 20 years) and I am enjoying these episodes a lot. I'm going to make this but with chickpeas and the base for my tuna. I'm excited for Mrs. P to try the all vegan cook book and see what y'all like the most. Thanks for the content, as always!

Look, deviled ham is salty and delicious and makes EXCELLENT tea sandwiches for when you are having a tea party. Also, meat in a can is struggle EXCEPT for the canned albacore I order from a person whose family I know, who own their own boat and do line caught wild albacore and I buy ONE ridiculously expensive case per year and slowly work through it and it's amaaazing 🩷

A rice cooker is a game changer, a life saver, a historical icon. (Also Mrs P I have never seen Kill Bill).

Mr. P I support your health journey. I started my health journey because the local paper ran a photo of me so bad that I fixed my teeth and lost 75 pounds. Sometime seeing yourself reflected in Media makes you reevaluate.

i always regret listening to these episodes when i don't have grocery money and/or meal-assembling energy (yes i have bad enough chronic illness to where dumping 2 things into a bowl AND microwaving it is way too much for me :((( i've been craving tuna bowls and chex treats ever since i saw the titles!

President of the Fishbein Fan Club

If you live somewhere in the Northeast I will totally make and send you the Chex treats (I assume they’d be stale if I sent them anywhere further away than that). I don’t think the tuna bowl will travel well lol

Zelda Presents

Mr. President you are the best president 💕💕💕 sadly i am 2 thousand miles away 😢 but my husband just got a desperately needed paycheck (both our work is... sparse in the summer, and my last 2 big paychecks are SUPER delayed, like months delayed 🥲) and ordered the ingredients for me and will help me this weekend 🙌🙌🙌 i am SO grateful for your offer though you have no idea. the Pearlmaniacs are good people 💞 thank you so much!!!

President of the Fishbein Fan Club

Lmao at Mr. President 😂😂 you’re welcome!! I understand how hard it is when you have a chronic illness. I’m so glad your husband is able to help you make them, they are sooooo good. Enjoy!!

Short_Range_Attack_Chicken

Wash youuurrrrr rice!! 😂 sorry the guy who dresses up like Mulan and screams wash your rice is permanently stuck in my head every time I hear about rice or rice cookers. 🤪😅

Short_Range_Attack_Chicken

If you don’t, dishonor on you, dishonor on your family and dishonor on your cow!🐄

Lorelana

Buying a rice cooker has been life-changing in our house. Perfect rice every time and our rice consumption increased drastically. Also, making this recipe as soon as possible!

Lauren Jane

Ok fine. Rice cooker ordered. Thank you for the non-Amazon options!

✨Sparkling Misandry✨

This one sounds delicious and I will definitely be making it with my fancy albacore! I can't have edamame so I have got to find some garlic scapes. I used to get them in my CSA and they were so good 🩷

Kayla_from_delaware

I’m gonna go to this big ol Asian food market and see if I can get a rice cooker there. Joshua Weismann had me mostly convinced and you guys sent it.

ThenIWhispered

I will have to send you my grandmother's Deviled Ham Dip recipe. I love it with fresh veggies! (Marginally healthier than with Easy Cheez, so maybe even Mrs. P would find it palatable. 🤣)

ThenIWhispered

I DM'ed the recipe in case you are ever interested in trying it!

AugieLovesPenny

The fact that Mrs. P says “rent” instead of “borrow” books from the library is the late-stage capitalism humor I’m here for. 😆💖

shelse

I love the history and culture of food. I took a course in university on food rituals in Islam (my minor was in Islamic studies). It was so amazing and we ate so many amazing things.

yondertallguy

Can we have an updated playlist for the food idiot eps so I don’t have to scroll back from December to present to find them?

happylauf

I’m here for Mrs. P and not having seen Kill Bill. Actually, I’m extra subscribed because of it.

Jenn_and_juice

I'm literally eating this right now and omfg it's so fucking good! I only used one can of tuna and with everything I chopped up and my leftover rice I could probably make another two bowls. A+, thanks Mrs p!!

That_Wokelahoman_Teacher

Update: This is now a weekly staple in the house and keeping us fed through grad school. Keeping cans in the fridge is a whole new level of clever.
