This post is for all patrons and general audience members interested in the public giveaway. It's going to contain a lot of fine-print to cover our asses legally speaking, so please forgive some of the wording I have to use. I will generally try to write everything in a conversational tone to keep things legible.

First, for patrons who want to make sure they're signed up to receive giveaway prizes (YOU CANNOT WIN IF YOU DON'T DO THIS): Membership settings -> Address -> make sure your address is included and up to date. (Update: use the website, patrons say the mobile app doesn't work for settings like this.)

Second, for patrons who support us but don't want to win a giveaway prize:
Membership settings -> Address -> Opt out of deliveries (Update: use the website, patrons say the mobile app doesn't work for settings like this.)

Giveaway details:

  1. Each month we'll try to do a giveaway at the beginning of the month (exceptions may happen in emergencies, bare with us, you know the drill.)

  2. On the episode before the drawing takes place we will announce where free participants can join and how to get the information required to properly fill out the participation form.

  3. On the date denoted in the pre-giveaway episode each month a post will be made on the platform stated in the episode. The post will have a link to the participation form and will last for 24 hours after posting before the form is closed and the list is locked for drawing.

  4. The public applications and all paying patrons who are not opted out (see above instructions) are then placed in a list together after checking for invalid entries and ensuring nobody submits an entry twice. ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY MULTIPLE TIMES WILL VOID YOUR ENTRY!

  5. On drawing day the list of valid entries will each be assigned a number and a random number will be drawn for each prize. We'll do highest prize to lowest if there are multiple tiers of them, and winners won't be able to win lower prizes in that drawing, to maximize the amount of people who win something.

  6. After the drawing the winners will be contacted and a post will be made announcing the winners. Winners may also be announced on the episode following the drawing, we'll see how nicely we can weave it into the episode news segment.

  7. The prizes will then be shipped out to the winners!

  8. If a winner does not claim their prize within 30 days of being contacted it will be re-added to the next available prize pool.

Giveaway Fine Print

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. We will always offer a free avenue to join these giveaways, this is not a paywalled giveaway.

  2. All participants must be 18 years or older to enter.

  3. Prizes will not be more than $500 in value. (This is to avoid tax complications for winners and keep the giveaway as open as possible due to local laws in many US States.)

  4. Some countries may not allow you to win a giveaway prize. Participants from the following countries and regions cannot enter the giveaway due to local laws: Quebec Canada, Washington USA, Idaho USA, Northern Territory Australia, South Australia Australia, Australian Capital Territory Australia, New South Wales Australia, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Taiwan, Belarus, Iran, Russia, and China. Other countries and territories may be added to this list in order to comply with the law. If a participant's address is found to be from one of the affected regions it will be removed from the pool. We truly apologize for this, but we don't want to go to jail in order to ship you some plastic models.

  5. Applicants from certain countries may be required to answer bonus skill-based questions to comply with local laws.

  6. Odds of winning are based on number of entries.

  7. One entry per participant.

  8. Solely Singleton LLC is not responsible for any technical difficulties rendering a person unable to enter the competition.

  9. Employees of Solely Singleton LLC and family members thereof cannot enter. (Sorry honey, you can't win Space Marines. I know this is crushing for you.)

  10. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash alternative.

  11. Winners are responsible for taxes on prizes.

  12. Information collected for the giveaway is used entirely for ensuring the entry is valid and delivery of rewards. No data will be saved for longer than 30 days to comply with various national and international laws.

  13. No platform involved in this giveaway is a sponsor of it.

(This post may be edited with future FAQs or updated legal information as we become aware of issues.)

In case anyone was wondering you can’t change your address settings on mobile you have to do it on the webpage

Circ

Juuuuust checking in over here, I know Games Workshop tends to slap "excluding New York and Florida" on their contests, is that also applying to this contest or are we good on that front?

Tisamon

Poorhammer has found a way to fight back. Now they don't have to suffer a barrage of money from their patreons.

Plackinho

What a terrible terrible day to be Polish

Michiel De Pelsemaeker

If you attach a stupid question to the giveaway, it is legal in Belgium. Example: What colour are the Ultramarines?

The Bone Daddy

I wonder if it would be cheaper than shipping for me to drive from SW Michigan to Detroit if I won (def not trying to use the Michigan card to earn an unfair advantage)

SolelySingleton

From what we have seen those two only become problems over 500 dollars. If we find otherwise we'll add them, but I think it's because 2k of admech from GW when you win the prize would be illegal.

Ktulu

WTF ? What laws in poland ban me from a giveaway ? First time I hear about anything like that. More to say I've won a giveaway in the past and there was zero problems.

SolelySingleton

I'll look into this one, Canada is in similar iffy waters the other way, technically I think I have to ask the winner what 2+3 is.

Shaxxs pet otter

Once again Australia is left in shambles I just want free plastic I am also pretty sure giveaways are legal in Australia as long as they come as a bonus to a purchase of a service or good/are not strictly pay to enter

machinedude

Maybe it has to do with international shipping or other mundane reasons.

Tamiya Extra Thin Incense

At the risk of sounding stupid, do Patrons get auto-entered into the giveaway or do we have to fill out a form each time?

Illindi

Didn't even know I couldn't be apart of giveaways :( Well looked it up - We can. Just that winnings comes with a tax cost if we receive it. Meh...

SolelySingleton

Automatic if you are an active paid patron and not opted out.

Rucket

If I win, I'll let Brad choose which Chapter the Marines are.

Shaxxs pet otter

So you I would like to ask you to look into this one. I am sure us Australians would appreciate that. Thanks

Plackinho

https://sip.lex.pl/akty-prawne/dzu-dziennik-ustaw/gry-hazardowe-17581037 I believe it would be this, a lengthy and kinda confusing document, but it basically states that you need a special permit and a person to control the giveaway. Basically not worth the hassle and I am sure there are some more fuckass rules that make it even harder. We have very strict laws about gambling and giveaways unfortunately count as gambling. There is some more to it in Civil Codex but I ain't reading all that.

fish 2

cant wait to try to win more blood angels!

CapeFury

I Just joined the Patreon! I am willing to pay shipping to NZ if I can win the Armegeddon box. I am desperate hahah

Dex and Ballz

Seconding this! GW giveaways include Australia, except I think NT and SA? And I haven't seen anything preventing Auspex's ones

Aragorn195

I'm sorry, I cannot find any law that prohibits giveaways in Norway. Could you provide a source on that?

Jedibrb

From very minimal googling Idaho requires you for there to be no purchase required to for chance promotions

Iunch

Australia!!! NOOOOOO!

Jivefunk

Oh man, I have a house in UT and ID looks like the crippling mortgage debt paid off!

Michiel De Pelsemaeker

It cannot be purely a game of chance, because the Belgian state has a monopoly on that. So technically speaking, you must first take a test of knowledge or skill. And out of all correct answers, you are allowed to draw for the prize. Side note: Almost all Instagram and Facebook giveaways ignore this, without anything happening. It is used to tackle fraudulent gambling games, not for small giveaways.

Michiel De Pelsemaeker

Loot boxes are banned in Belgium, as is organized gambling. (Unless the state grants you a license). There was even talk of banning card games like Magic and Pokemon, because you don't know what you are buying. And some cards are worth so much money, it is starting to look like a game of chance.

Dwarves Are Top Tier, Only Tau Players Disagree

The ban isn't enforced enough as mobile games, gachas (looking at you Hoyo, creators of wuthering Waves and where winds meet) and some western studios have found loopholes to still have them but not illegally. I don't mind missing out on the giveaway because of decent gambling protection. But darn does it feel annoying at times.

Ethan

Seems like at least for Sweden as they are not part of the gambling Union (a whole lot of laws they need to comply with) it would need to be a skill based thing... Like a painting competition... But also Swedish import tax is very high.

Jonas Larsson

What? Swedes can't enter? Resten av världen har äntligen insett att vi har 65% vinstfrekvens! 😭

Aragorn195

Taxes can't be the reason as they state that winners are responsible for any taxes. Point 9 on the fine print

Void

Ahh man, as an Aussie I can't join? Bugger

Thedoc360

Saw the giveaway and thought might as well upgrade membership, patroen then locked me out my online account via 2FA 😂 least i still have the app

LadyAcoustics

LETS GOOOO, Western Australia finally does something right for once 🥳

Nick S.

Insane way to find out Idaho has some bullshit laws ; - ;

Friday The V

I hope I did my settings correct

Zhaph

Can't seem to find a way as a cheapo $1 tier to give you my address on the web...

Zachary Monney

it seems the law changed October 27, 2023 in Québec. Most of the limitation where removed except for the Quebec Charter of the French Language. I'm not an expert but it seems you could remove Québec from the list if you add a french part to the term and condition.

Cail Musick-Slater

Just curious as to why Washington State is on this list. I can't find a law that could cause trouble with this.

Pilot H8

if I remember correctly it's legal in sweden to host an online giveaway if you can enter it without baying
