On this week’s episode, Brad and Eric decided to design new detachments for six Warhammer 40K factions. They cooked a complete course meal with detachment rules, enhancements and stratagems, but Berilio wished they cooked him an extra meal instead.

Those yield point expenses are wildly too high. Unless you play it with needguard into a msu spam list you are affording 1-2 strats at best. Also volkanite jacks want to be in fortify for their overwatch on 4s. I do like the idea of spending YP, but the issue is assuming one memyr on the home and max gain, you only can get a max of 9 a battle round without a detatchment buff. That means you are holding 3 objectives and more then your opponent in your turn and their turn.

Daniel

With the new detachment system I figured yall would do this detachment series, excited for the detachment series as a whole!!!

Dr. Tre

This is great. I always love it when you guys theory craft new stuff (combat patrols, dream armies/units, and this). Can't wait to see what yall do for the nids if you keep the series :3

Jack Doyle

Tau have so few that they should be in every episode.

Jack Doyle

Loved this but no Imperial Agents?!

Remedialpain

I like these but what about an idea for smaller episodes to talk about things you would change to data sheet and points for individual units for a few factions at a time to make them more balanced in there faction. Like how you tried to make wraiths better

Eric threatened me at knifepoint

Leathal sabotage: disruption. In your fight phase, friendly units can select one unit within 2" and do an action. Until the end of the game, the chosen unit suffers deadly demise on a 2+

TNTmage7

More of this please! My favorite episode in a while (also can Eric please redesign chaos knights, it’ll be better than what we have going on rn)

Soju-pop

1) I'm all about longer episodes with more in Depth long explanations. 2) that Harlequins detachment tastes bitter because just 2 weeks ago I sold out of Harlequins / Wraith Army for the reasons you guys complained about :(

Solicited feedback: I think it might be cool to pick a design theme and tie it into the episode (I.e. you were talking about complexity bounds/thresholds). Then, make 3-4 detachments as examples the design concept. For instance, have one be simple detachment rules, complex strats. Then move the slider up as you go (complex rule, simple enhance/strat). This will also allow you to show an extreme/mad scientist example where you can push the limits to get to some peak memery.

Steven Walsh

This could also double dip into prep for whenever you guys take the eventual leap and make horde mode its own game system.

WIBG

Please make more of these they're super fun!! I really like the actual stratagem writing compared to just the idea. My play group is always down to try to do this, but it's a lot easier if everything is inline with GW speak already

Matthew Burke

I'm sure its just a scheduling thing, but I miss when Bricky joined you for these episodes.
