On this week’s episode, Brad and Eric take a look at CSM’s model range and build a few lists to showcase the army and the many ways it can be built. Meanwhile, Berilio tries to brainstorm a good title for this series while thinking about eating sushi and drinking pineapple with mint.

I thought it was a really cool idea for an episode and the way y'all did it was good imo. It was obvious you two had fun making it and it feels like it could be a good way to show how different flavors/wings of a faction can actually be built in a 2k points list. As a new player (got into it last year) I especially thought it was really handy to see some lists that weren't trying to be 100% optimized and competitive without being pure memery like the guy who ran three Lord of Skulls and took it to tournaments. You mentioned a generalist Black Legion list which I think wouldn't be the worst idea for the next faction, a generalist/sampler platter list that may not have a specific theme but you can look at and go "oh yeah, this is the most (insert faction here) list of all time" and then someone could decide from there which wing they wanted to continue exploring. Overall, awesome episode. Thanks y'all again for another banger episode!

Play Emperors Children and smear your CSM all over the table

Best way to play CSM is to spend 200% more money for 3/4 the points for Ad mech

You got pretty close to army I'm starting - themed as beastriders I do it as Chaos Sisters, but using CSM rules, and the only difference is whenever you put chaos marines or sisters to sit on the daemon engines. My army could look something like this (with current points and detachments) Soulforged Warpack + Devotees of Destruction, with Priority Assets as force disposition - Discolord - 2x3 Obliterators (using Serpetos Overlord models from Legion Imperialis, they also seem to be cheaper) - 2x Heldrake - 2x Forgefiends - 3x Maulerfiend - 2x Venomcrawler it leaves 20 points for some upgrade, or drop Heldrakes or Forgefiends or one of each and get a knight ally instead

Episode was great and hope that you guys do more.

Really fun episode with a great premise. I really enjoy listening to you guys talking about different lists and unit synergies, in both gameplay and lore. Honestly, I would love to hear you guys review interesting lists that you find and talk about its theming/synergies and what could be changed to make them more cohesive. This feels like a natural extension of the "Start Collecting" episodes. Like a newer player would use that as a guideline to get started but this is useful to the person with 3000 points and is looking for inspiration for their next list.

Absolute mad men playing that many chaos

How about this but for Tyranids :D

This was the episode that made me subscribe, been a youtube subscriber since the first "meet every CSM legion" but I've listened to it like seven times and love it. Love to see more armies of this because genuinely as someone who struggled with creating a balanced list that wasnt all candy and got shot off the board instantly. If you wanted a suggestion for more like this, I think a followup of how to table each of the armies and maybe talking a bit more about table tactics of each, maybe put them against a random-wheel-spin of an army and give suggestions on how to set up? Like I love playing Deceptors but get decimated off the board round one every time I deploy, I know yall talk about this being a bit more generalist podcast but something harking back to the old weapon profile calculator episode could be cool.
