OK like funny story, my husband was like can you explain more about GWA and why you like it? I am always excited to see your song pairings in the comments. A song is such a perfect vehicle to convey the vibe of an audio. When I listened to this, my brain immediately went to “Me & Mrs. Jones” by Billy Paul (I fucking love ’70s soul 😍). Maybe the lyrics are a bit too literal, but the mood feels like the listener to me…grown-ass sophisticated older F who knows better and has a lot to lose, but can’t help herself. Your song pairing feels sexier and more exciting. That clipped effervescent opening feels like the speaker’s younger M energy, a little nervous at first, heart-pounding. Then enthusiastic and absolutely fucking buoyant to become teacher’s pet. I think our song choices are in perfect contrast to the parallel experiences happening here.
