To go against the grain and speak not of the true purpose of the show in Horner Corner, Brennan's correction of "predecessor" to "successor" is a big clarification for me. When I heard it, it implied that Ren was not the first Witch of the World's Heart, and it was her mentor that started the process of caring and uniting the world, Ren took that even further, and now Ame is continuing that and the rest of the coven were done with that "experiment". With "successor" it almost feels more dismissive, like nipping something in the bud before it gets further.

I checked all the comments to see if anyone said anything about the question Brennan had about the omegaverse coming from any specific IP. Everything Erika said was correct- but technically it originally came from Supernatural fandom taking inspiration from the tv show Dark Angel- a show which Jensen Ackles also stared in- where the main characters had some cat dna that had a side effect of the characters going into heat.

I'm re-listening from the beginning, and having now met Mirara, it is so obvious that Emliss, the Rhuvian chalice sorcerer who attacked the gang on the boat, is using some kind of shadow entropy power! Brennan mentions the moon, rotting wood, and cold de-composition, it's so clear when you know what you're listening for! Perhaps even the Stranger, who spoils the milk in their house and brings night with him. I wonder if Mirara is involved with the war, too! I imagine that with Indri wanting only herself to exist and Mirara wanting to destroy everything, the two of them in a tenuous survivor-like alliance until they're the last two standing. Re-listening is worthwhile!!!
