Crackle crackle!

JB

Horner Corner stand up

Brandon Rilling

Good morning/evening/night everyone, hope you're all having a great week!

JB

On second thought, maybe don’t

MagnaniMel

I knew I recognized that voice. Loved Glou in Murder at the Midnight Dungeon.

Hannah

Glou Wilson: Your book-on-tape artist's favorite book-on-tape artist

DomPie

Thank you, gang. Grateful as ever and (personally) your stories and companionship are needed more than ever.

The Spirit of Vicious Inspiration

"Glou's trying very hard to stick right now" Aabria I want you to know that pun did not get overlooked despite the ZERO response from the group lol

expandingnebula

Thank you all so much for your storytelling, passion, and creativity. We will forever and always need stories to remember the past and to be inspired to create different worlds and always need the warm, welcoming light of a fire to bring community together. Y’all are inspiring and comforting 💜 so thank you!

expandingnebula

ps I’ve been a long time fan of Glou Wilson and frankly aghast that it’s taken WBN so long to have him on the fireside. I’m excited for more people to know of his talents!!!

August D.

Rule #4 - Fish in a Birdcage has always been such a good PC-playlist song to me. It just oozes “I have a complicated relationship with another character” to me.

Jennifer Sieben

Thank you so much for finishing the limerick. I needed that. Also Aabria saying Glou is just trying to stick was such a stealth line and I was giggling over here.

Kyle Watkins

Anyone else elated over Erica mentioning Locked Tomb?

yimyams

"glou's trying very hard to stick " good one 🙂‍↕️

jose romero

These Sorcerers are actually getting me more excited to see a Warlocks

Daniel Wong

I'm surprised Erika forgot about dice pools. Tbf LA by Night has been a while.

bluebluebutton

I love Suvi's complete lack of curiosity regarding how Ame and Eursulon got to her 🤣

Brandon Brewer

I swear, the most superstitious people on the planet aren't sailors, or occultists, or religious people... They're TTRPG players trying to figure out why their dice behave the way they do. Even at my table, I have literally seen my players burn sage to cleanse bad juju away from their dice. Only to despair when it rolled a Nat 1 in a pivotal moment, lol.

Ryan Alford

What a lovely birthday gift to wake up to!!

eve

love the amazing devil <3 very cool to hear that shout out

eve

did I hear a washer/dryer go off at the end of the episode? during Erika's mutual aid info? (around 56:45)

Queerly Victorian

Lol, I’m listening to The Seven for the first time right now and just finished the veloci-geese ep!!

Izer

Just wanted to drop this comment and say: Thank you all for always sharing joy in all the works that each and every WBN member are part of. Suvi has been my comfort character ever since the Episode 0, and the storytelling of the cast is always incredible. From the performances and sound designs, every detail pulls me closer into this grand fantasy. But with that attention to these interweaving stories is the reminder that choosing empathy and love is stronger than apathy or spite. Please know that each one of you and the works you create is deeply appreciated. The space you have made and still hold, in order to explore the power of storytelling, means the world to so many, including myself. Again thank you so much, and please take care

James

I will add to the argument that yes, some audiobook readers definitely gain a following! Barbara Rosenblat read the Amelia Peabody mysteries so well that my mom would go outside those series if she found another Rosenblat-read audiobook at the library. And I'll tell ya what: Rosenblat absolutely deserved it. The voices she could conjure, the *acting*, the pacing of the narration? A good audiobook reader is worth their weight in gold, for SURE.

Tawny Lacuna

Perhaps I don't understand the rules of the doorknobs, but couldn't the fox have delivered one of those to Silver so that Ame could create a passage of escape? Also, today marks the day I'm all caught up with the podcast.... and I am sad that I now have to wait like everyone else. 😓

xatlern

I just want to stay here with all of you by the fireside and never return to the real world 😭

bluebluebutton

Welp, a reminder of where I currently am mentally: Brennan's kind words at the end of the fireside made me burst into tears.

Jayfeather

based fish in a birdcage mention

ScoutHooligan

Hearing these babies made my morning and I really needed to hear from Glou. 💜

mguin

Rule 4 rocks - Aces is my favorite song incorporating sudden yelling (I think it's rule 15?)

Lauren

Thank you all for lighting the fireside each week, we keep us warm ❤️

Lauren

we needed to take a significantly larger beat at Dom Nook Erika you're mind

Rachael

I needed that opening. Thank you to all of you for sharing your light, your stories, your warmth and your love. ❤️

Jasmine A. Golphin

1) as always, I'm grateful for what you all do and how you do it. Thank you for that reminder at the top of the show Erika🫶🏾💛 2) I'm now very curious how often Brennan gets questions that involve the phrase "what the fuck Brennan?"

Devon

Loved the intro to this weeks episode. We love you all and appreciate you s’much. Brennan won’t give up the real limerick!!?

The Pompous Peasant

Just want to say Erika is a great host! Taylor is a mad genius and I can't listen to the show without high quality ear buds on, my appreciation of music and soundscape has gone through the roof because of the man. I just think the entire crew is more talented then 95% of Hollywood, truly amazing talent all around. I started listening about 6 months ago? Can't believe I'm all caught up, listened to every ep and fireside. Will go back and listen to all the other great bonus content i.e County Affair, etc. Little sad, but grateful to have found this.

Sarah H

All jokes aside, one of the reasons I actually am listening to an audiobook is because the narrator did a few other books and I really did enjoy his style and use of different accents for different characters. So Glou isn't too far off on that one

expandingnebula

okay last thought but for the folks looking to link up with mutual aid groups (in response to the question), another great way of finding folks to join is to go where the people are! maybe that seems super obvious and you’re already doing that and i know it can feel awkward to just rock up and start meeting folks but people are usually really welcoming and happy to meet people looking for community. values-aligned/driven book stores, authors talks, shelters, community centers, cafes, seminars, different venues where folks perform and then plug their socials or orgs that they work with and work they’re supporting. (just like this pod!) and just getting to know your neighbors if you aren’t already

The Wizard Smudge

I’d also be very interested in that! If I remember from when the first doorknob was put in, I think it would have taken Ame an hour or so to install it, and by that point I think the jig would be up

Micah

Same! Especially Welly Boots, that's one of my favorites

Jasmine A. Golphin

Re: mutual aid - I'd be down to help organize a spreadsheet of local orgs if others here have suggestions. I live in Cleveland and know a few off the top of my head- CPRCLE, Food Not Bombs and IRTF Cleveland

Ben East

Erika I love you but please - "Appa-latch-an". Or "a·puh·la·chn" There is no hard A in the word Appalachian.

Tyler Chapman

I thought for sure the special guest's name was Blue Wilson

Tawny Lacuna

Plus, I think it requires Silver or one of his wizards to do the same on their end, to a decent degree.... how many wizards know basic carpentry? 😄

Miranda Montooth

Thank you for your comments. And thank you to everyone for sharing your warmth around the fireside. <3

Nefeli

OF COURSE Aabria listens to The Amazing Devil omgggg. The dark folklore whimsy of their music is so Suvi

Michael Redd

Love the community you've all cultivated here. Always so warm and welcoming

whisp-error

the amazing devil is my favorite band and i absolutely freaked out when Aabria mentioned them

whisp-error

same here! my sister's birthday was on sunday and i got her some pins with amazing devil lyrics. one was the scarlet welly boots with the lyrics "i know you're strong enough to do this on your own" and the other was from drinking song for the socially anxious and says "if god made us all in his image then god's a fucking nerd." always exciting to hear them mentioned

deliriumparadox

As a queer Texas refuge in denver this week has been so so hard. I'm so greatful to have this safe space to share with this community

whisp-error

yep! one of my favorite book series. i haven't listened to the audiobooks but i've heard a lot of people talk about Moira Quirk's incredible work

Ess

That explains why I thought my washer/dryer was done, I thought I was starting to hallucinate my own washing machine noise.

Tyler

When are we getting a Gauthmai sorcerer sub class. I’m a sorcerer man and I need it!

xatlern

I wonder if glou realizes he picked the best/worst possible name for the mystery-romance book he voiced. For such a short title, almost every word has multiple spellings and meanings. A Night to Die For A Knight to Dye For a nite 2 di 4 Is there a secret message about rolling 2d4 hidden in here??

Zoop

On the subject of mutual aid, I would reccomend avoiding Salvation Army if possible as they have a p nasty track record when it comes to serving the queer community. Given that, I worry that recent events will empower them to return to their more blatant discriminatory antics of the past, particularly in areas where they are still the primary non-governmental provider of social services. Unfortunately, they’re the largest provider of such services in the US at large although a number of major cities have since the 2000’s, explicitly dissolved relationships w/ the Salvation Army that had them acting as the primary provider of such services/receiver of related government funds. But if you are outside of a major city and Salvation Army is the primary local provider of social services, I suggest seeking out smaller local non-profits instead!

Nikki Luna Paz

Sunrise Movement mentioned!! Also love Ground Game LA, LA Mutual Aid, they both helped me survive the early pandemic lockdown. food not b*mbs is in nearly every city.

Jonathon carr

I do enjoy that the main bad team is a bunch of people single powerful beings rather than lots of weak ones. Very nicely worked for a D+D party enjoyed that 😀

Jenny

Thanks you folks always for making me laugh out loud. These fireside chats always warm my heart. ❤️

Jenny

I agree! The narrator definitely has an impact on my choice of audiobooks

Nobody

Love this community! I felt very seen as Aabria just rattled off a bunch of songs I love and then references The Amazing Devil's "Welly Boots" Erica instantly knows. Where I live barley anyone knows them(and the ones that do are because of me) it's not a big deal but it felt nice to be like hey there are some people out there who nerd out on stories and even have similar tastes in music. It was just a feeling of "Hey it's my people!" That I just wanted to share that the top of episode message was received and want to share some of the warmth this space brings. Thanks to everyone for creating such a wonderful space. Happy to be beside the fireside!

Erik Koch

Oh man. Throwing Welly Boots at me for our Wizard hurt bad 😭 but absolutely incredible choice for her good lord. For anyone who hasn’t check out the amazing devil, 11/10 recommend

Xanian Jamfalcon

Nick Podehl is my go to narrator for audiobooks. Arcane Ascension changed my life.

Lauren

love that unwanted animal, she's so real for mentioning them and fish in a birdcage

Dylan

Secret character playlists?? Need the updated Suvi workout mix

ChrissyWei

I did it, this is the first fireside chat where I am fully caught up. It has been an absolute joy listening to WWW and it's both fulfilling and sad to know my binge is over. Fortnightly episodes and fireside chats here we come :)

PinkGuy

The kind welcome messages this episode really hit this week 😭🫶

Nailo Dice

Ahhhhhh shout out! 😭

S Smith

"Glou is trying really hard to stick" murdered me on the bus.

The Wizard Gesundheit

It would be funny if they released this camp fire in specific on physical medium

Laurence Myers Reese

Erika saying books on tape was very comforting because that is what I say and people constantly correct me by saying audiobook. By people, I mean my students 😭

Carla D.

Yay new talkback!!!

Carla D.

holy shit they got Glou Wilson??

K

😤we demand to see the dice case

K

(Please🙂‍↕️🙏🏾)

kragonaught

surprised that the avatar the last airbender comics weren’t an inspiration for the cottage mirage “The few airbenders that escaped his [Sozin’s] first assault were too hard to hunt down. Instead, he laid traps. Places like these caves were made to look like they were inhabited by other airbender refugees. Sozin fooled them using their own everyday objects as bait, luring them far enough for our soldiers to close in” chills

Serenity4Jane

I would love to listen to an audiobook narrated by Lou Wilson - I may have immediately searched to see if any had been published since I last checked, just in case there was some truth to the bit

Rowan T Buck

I just wanted to say I enjoyed the dice discussion & wanted to relay I appreciate the way (G)Lou does it the most since it's the most like my own. I bought a handful of translucent chessex die sets for a Saga Edition SW game in '09 (I was the DM & no-one played TTRPGs then or had dice in my group); but every other die set I've gotten since has been a gift & try to use them with the folks who've gotten them for me.

singorswim

I came into the comments specifically to make sure that joke was acknowledged since it got talked over in the room. THANK YOU AABRIA 🤣

KamasiFitzgerald

!! Aabria can you post your dice holder/rolling tray on your insta story if it's purchasable? Been looking for a nice one and your taste is always fire

Ben Warzeski

We love you all, and needed this fireside this week. Especially w the call-to-action

Ms. Katie Spina

I absolutely have listened to books chosen because of the narrator! Claire Cooney (C.S.E. Cooney) does amazing voice over work and I've listened to books just for her! This episode is like a hug to me personally. I love it.

PocketNyx

Radiant superheroes fighting alongside deathless vassals bound forever by oath is a fresh but perfectly logical take on what a charisma-based sorcerer-ocracy might look like.

Bingus2277

You mean Glu? Glu would be so mad rn

Sil

Aabria, you are also a GM, I love your work, but do I believe/ trust you wouldn't do Brennan a solid and raise our hopes re Silver for narrative tension? I think we ALL know the answer 😝

Emily C

Hey thanks for this gang. Been a hard week and I celebrate the joys in my life, one of which is this beautiful story you are telling together and sharing with us.

NekairFei

I also firmly associate Suvi to Kendricks musical career. I gasped.

Brian Schoner

LOVE the shout-out to Moira Quirk!

les! (king sheim)

I’m part of the audience that follows Glou Wilson from audiobook to audiobook at the library

The Wizard Savvy

The fact that Erika knows about the Locked Tomb series had me actually dead I love those books to death

Sil

It was lovely to hear Jared Olson acknowledged by name this episode too 😊

Ollie Cook

I need to see Aabrias dice case!

Micah Ballard

This was only the last few minutes of the ep, but! Plugging the nonprofit I work for in St. Louis, MO, Metro Trans Umbrella Group! We’re trans-led and serve the trans community in a state where being trans is scary.

K

Listen SAME

Sil

Oh. And one last thing; I hear you, Erika. I'm lucky enough to not be in the US, but my love, financial support where possible, and solidarity with my queer siblings and POC where appropriate 💪🏼🍞🌹 and everyone involved in this podcast. Ahoo hoo from this renting, non-binary bisexual 🇦🇺 despite the theme of this episode, I trust these people who give me hope for the US 😉

Sil

Glou Wilson Audiobook club 😉 I've seen stranger things pitched at my city library!

Ryan Higgins

You said Backseat, I heard it in my head, went back and listened to it to confirm, and wholly agree with the Playlist.

shining oak

I needed to sit by the fireside after the 5th

Harper

The opening made me wanna cry once I realized what was happening 😭❤️ so comforting

Harper

💗 Glou Wilson 💗 pls release an audiobook of The Green Hunter

Karen Hainstock

As someone who has listened to some truly mediocre audiobooks solely because Richard Armitage read them, I'm allying myself with all Glou Wilson stans

Nolf!

I just want to say this podcast and the patreon has been holding me up these past few weeks. So glad I found WBN. You guys are amazing.

Krusty Bo Busty

That guitar intro literally makes my heart slow by maybe ten bpm at least

Krusty Bo Busty

Gee i wonder when they recorded this one lol

Buddy Burden

I'm going to cut out the audio of Erika saying "I am determined, and I am undeterred by the night around me" and play it on a constant loop in the background of my life. 🥹

les! (king sheim)

I’m not normal about the Hadestown x WBN x MisMag crossover episode and will be taking weeks to digest this

MunchMan

Btw, it’s pronounced appaLATCHian, not appaLAYtian

rocket-flash

When Brennan started asking about whether people follow audio book narrators, I was literally shouting Moira Quirk my dude!! So happy to know Erika loves books too!

rocket-flash

I'm feeling extra grateful for the light of the fireside this week. This story has been so pivotal in reminding myself how important and powerful it is to care for each other when the world feels dark. I know it's a bit cheesy, but these are the stories and storytellers that I come back to whenever I need some extra hope to make it through the day. Sending warmth to everyone around the fireside and those you love!

Majestic Potoo

I have a perfectly colored blue and teal d20 that I've carried to two gencons JUST IN CASE I see Aabria and can pass it on. It's not a fancy boy, it's a chessex. But it's over 15 years old and has served well and HAS to be luckier than some.

rocket-flash

You've got to! It's particularly impressive in the later books when you can hear changes in which character is speaking from a particular body before it's addressed by narration, which made me feel super smart!

Witch of the Well Stocked Snack Cabinet

Yes! Erica's gf is correct. Dice should be organised by number type! When I gm for conventions/beginners, I have a lazy-susan of labelled kids' paint pots in the centre of the table where the dice are organised by both number *and* colour. So all the d20s are green, d12s are pink, d6s are red etc. etc. It is very practical and also deeply satisfying at the same time. I have also amassed this collection in a stupidly short space of time.

Witch of the Well Stocked Snack Cabinet

This is my second. Welcome! I have to say that the wait between episodes is extra rough when you're fresh from bingeing the whole rest of everything, but still so worth it.

larkermouse

Yeah, sorting dice by number of faces makes the most sense. Especially for spellcasters who suddenly need 8d6 or whichever

Yasmin

I need these updated playlists

Ashley Teatum

From my experience, it depends which part of App we're in 😅 like Beaufort NC and Beaufort SC

Ashley Teatum

(one is byoofort and the other is bowfort, I should have added)

Amber Prophet

I needed both the empathetic gentle energy at the start and Glou Wilson's particular vibe to brighten my day. Just exactly right thank you. Also I listened to this over lunch where I had a cardboard cup of miso soup so that added another layer of mental distraction and jeopardy.

Erik Hanson

Wilson is the Glou that holds the cast together.

Nicknack

Financial. Dom. Nook 😂😂😂

Emma Runswick

Creggan White Hare! It's something I know about!! Brennan which version did you first hear? Not a traditional song by some definitions, as we know who wrote it and when, and there are not many "sources" (ie times its been found with/out variations) You can read about it here, and this directs you to some recordings. https://mainlynorfolk.info/folk/songs/thecregganwhitehare.html Mainly Norfolk and the Roud Index are your go-to places for info on folk songs, and if deep delving the podcast In The Roud is working through the Roud Index in order!

Emma Runswick

Also, I commented too soon because I got excited about folk music, so THANK YOU for sharing both your inner strength at top of episode and community organising/mutual aid organisations at the end. I love that you share your solid politics and beliefs with us, you are enabling us and we are grateful.

Gotholi

I'm not in the US, I know I don't need this as much as some do right now, but you all give me such joy and peace every time I hear you. Truly, you are a light in the dark.

Gotholi

Ps. The scarlet welly boots is my go to if I need to cry- that one will absolutely crush you if it comes up on shuffle 💀

Gotholi

Thank you so much for this- the folk nerd in me is very excited to check out that podcast. I knew about Mainly Norfolk because of the Ballad of King Orpheo but I'll admit I haven't looked around it much.

Danielle Nelson

thank you for being a light in the darkness and for reminding us of the power of storytelling. you make me feel hopeful. also so excited for Aabria adding Welly Boots to the Suvi playlist, Amazing Devil is amazing.

Ryan L.

Thank You! The warmth and joy are intensely appreciated right now *hugs back against the darkness*

Tino Rosales

Soooo, Glou Wilson audiobook as new merch?

Marty

Honestly, my partner does follow particular Audio Book narrators, so I will make sure she picks up Glue Wilson.

MoGunz

Safest I’ve felt in almost two weeks was listening to this fireside ❤️ Thank you.

Willa BW

Seeing this definitely reminded me that "CERTAIN EVENTS" made me totally forget to listen to last weeks episode

Miriam Dubin

Loved the playlists! I feel like the fox would love “the fox” by Nickel Creek

Emily

Thank you Erika 💖💖💖

BethKF

I argue with my brother - who works in tech and always is uptodate on the latest stuff - that cassette tapes represent the pinnacle of audio technology: it was easy to understand, you could listen to your stuff and, if it got chewed up, even a small, patient child with a biro pen could sort it. Video tapes naturally fall in more or less the same category…. Oh late 90s, we didn’t know what we had until it was gone 🥺🥹🥲

Esther Bee

Not to be that guy but I’ve got family in TN and NC and most folks say ‘Apple Latch Ah’ and not ‘Apple Lay Sha’ good indicator of where someone’s from actually, since outsiders hit the LAY in Appalachian. Which is totally fair in this case because no one on the Pod is from there. But just something to note with the mountains being so Appalachian coded. :)

Leah S.

As a fan of Glou Wilson, I just prefer his sultry tones. Following his audio cassettes has really opened me to so many different types of audio books I may not have listened.

emjaybee_3

Re: Needing to make a bunch of rolls with advantage or disadvantage: My daily driver dice bag has a bunch of sets of dice in it, but those sets are in pairs. 2 red sets, 2 purple, 2 green, 2 blue, 2 yellow, etc. so I can roll all of my dice at once and quickly match them into pairs. This also works when I'm DMing and I need to make a bunch of attacks at once against multiple PCs because my players have all associated their characters with a main accent color that I use to paint the base of their minis and for the border of VTT tokens.

Max

RULE 4 FISH IN A BIRDCAGE

Lee

This fireside made me cry thank you all for what you do

Lo

I was thinking the same thing ❤️

Paris

RULE 35 MICROPHONE BY FISH IN A BIRDCAGE FOR SUVI PUHLEASE AABRIA LISTEN it fits her handling the weight of power and responsibility sooooo well I've thought of it as a suvi song ever since it came out

Paris

the amazing devil mention just rocked my world. one of my favourite creatives crying to and feeling emboldened by the songs by my favourite band is so surreal.

DaphneDawn

Ok but for real, on the free audio book app Librovox there are a ton of volunteers reading the books. And some are better than others. Try and tell me Elizabeth Klett or Nathan Lowell don’t slap. You can’t do it. I listened to her read some Norse myths and then was like yes, Elizabeth can read me anything she wants

Ted Meredith

If you should go gad around Gauthmai Where Shroud Mountain peaks strain to graze sky A cabin appears near the summit Who’s porch hides a perilous plummet When you spy a hawk’s nest, best pass by

oToastTv

Yessss! The Amazing Devil!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Sil

🫱🏼‍🫲🏾 💪🏼🩵 stronger together

Ashley Teatum

Northern Appalachia (Pennsylvania) says it with a "lay"

Ashley Teatum

So now I'm making it head cannon that the Shroud Mountains are near the Allegheny National Forest, no notes (100% half kidding)

Patrick

I absolutely have picked up books just based on it being read by a specific person.

Sam Berry-Sullivan

TLT and Moira Quirk mentioned 💀🦴🩻🚀👩‍🚀🪐👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩⚔️🤺🧠🧟

Aussie Griffin

I wonder if the Fireside chat name gets changed for the space adventure... and what the playlist is for that. A.G.

MoGunz

Is this the last episode of the year? Someone plz say no 😭

Chris Kagamine

I feel like they would have said something if that were the case

Mel_onLord

Lmao good to know it’s not just me

The Wizard Sparrow

I’m waiting for my Tuesday happy place…I’ve been checking the podcast feed since 4am. Refreshing…refreshing…😂🤗❤️

Spencer W

Wish they would post something when the ep is going up late. Just refreshing frantically wondering what’s going on

Udoka

They just posted in the Discord that the ep is delayed till tomorrow morning (I'm assuming ET). They'll post something on socials soon!

Chris Kagamine

Which Discord is this? I don't believe I'm in it

Sam Weese

(Spoiler) wait, so was the house an imprisoned spirit or mortal?

Luke Hampshire

From how they talked about it in the episode, I took it as "spirit In The Sense Of how humans become spirits when they die, not necessarily like Eursulon Spirit"

The Occult Dice

Id love to get involved in the discord, where could I find that?

Aviva

Glou, my heart. Using dice based on who you’re playing with is the sweetest fucking thing. 🖤 Really cool to know you’ve done some work on D20. The family resemblance goes beyond the voice!

Aviva

💯

Aviva

But… The Shroud Mountains aren’t in Gauthmai.

Aviva

This is real.

Aviva

That is very clever. Thanks for the tip!

Aviva

How do you keep your cassette players in good working order? Do you have one in your car? That feels essential for a dedicated Glou fan.

Aviva

What’s the key difference between 100% half kidding and 50% kidding?

Aviva

Memory unlocked. The number of times my mom was ready to trash a tape (or “accidentally” ruined one she was sick of hearing) and I was like, “I got this.”

Aviva

Glou* Gotta make sure her search in the library’s card catalog points the right way.

Leah S.

Good question. Ted repairs my cassette players. My portable cassette player, the one in my horse pulled wagon, and of course the one in my entertainment room. I wouldn't trust anyone but Ted with the repairs. When you think Cassette Player Repair, think Ted!

MoGunz

Typically one week after the main feed episode release

Cur

For those in Seattle: Trans-WA is doing some good advocacy/action work, and I think they take volunteers and donations. I think. Maybe.

Ashley P

Just when I thought I must be out of tears by now, that last question got me 😭 Thank you all for being here and building community together.

Aviva

When Eursalon opened up his Divine Sense, even with a low perception check he felt that everything past the hawks’ nest was “of the world of spirits.” I’m very curious how mortals’ spirits relate to Spirits. Shoulda dropped that into the burning questions!

Lily Lechler

to be entirely fair to glu, i follow audiobook reader Gerad Doyle from book to book, so it does happen

Liz S.

I’m a little offended at the insinuation that cd audiobooks are so old. Some of my fondest childhood memories (late 2000s and early 2010s) are listening to library audiobooks on cds. And I loved Glou Wilson’s stint narrating the American Girl books

Stormy Sackett

Spirit in this campaign covers many things; fey, Celestial, fiends, demons, and more, potentially also undead. In the 2nd and 3rd interludes, there are ghosts that are spirits. This spirit is one of a Sorcerer in the past.

Stormy Sackett

Ghosts are of the spirit world, still. Just not the fey side of things like Eursalon. But I think he considers all spirits to be kin, which is NOT a shared perspective. Some of the spirits we have seen respond well to being called brother/sister and some don't.

Adam

for caitlyn and anyone else excited about getting involved with mutual aid in seattle and don't know where to start: their local Food Not Bombs (https://seattlefoodnotbombs.org/) is a pretty cool group of people that cooks and shares regular free hot meals out at occidental square. they're always looking to build community and solidarity with new folks and usually need help with tasks like food prep, dishwashing, transportation, or distro! in my own experience with mutual aid, you'll learn about all kinds of cool projects around town just by swingin thru and offering a hand :)

Gordon

Sorry I’m catching up so I’m late. What’s going on with these character playlists, can we listen to them?

Lexie Jones

*Gasps and clutches pearls* Brennan!

Fraud_Monet

Woah. That intro felt STARK. then I checked the date. I understand 🙏

Glass_Half_Awesome

I hear Glou on Eursulon being past his early Kesha phase. However, if it pleases the fireside, I would like to submit Kesha’s “Praying” for consideration, particularly when he thinks of the wizard Morrow. Cause, y’know, fuck that guy. PS my phone autocorrected Glou to Gloucester which I immediately read as ‘Gloo-ster’

Lulu

I love when the story has a moment that makes me stop everything im doing

Andrew Stallworth

Was ready for Glou to mention "The Green Hunter" as an audio book

Andrew Tucker

I absolutely love the song ashoken farewell. Whenever I pick up my violin it’s the one song I always play. It’s quite beautiful on the violin.

Masochismet

Welly Boots!!! I'm gonna cry thinking about that song in the context of Suvi holy shit, I love that song so much

El

I have a tackle box that I use for all my dice cause I have bought a couple of those pound of dice bags and then some slots are sets of dice 🎲 but most of it is sorted by die type

Devina Coleman

Omg that "you think we sound alike?" Made my heart drop. Idk why but I felt that social misstep in my soul

An Anxious Ghost

Ah! Amazing Devil mentioned!!! I wonder what they think of The Calling and The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace?

Drew Faber

AABRIA my Dispel dice roll soooooo bad for me too! I absolutely love them because they’re so incredibly gorgeous and well made… and they will NOT roll above a 6 unless I’m doing a bit

Nym

To which part? 😂

Nym

Did anyone else immediately have a Witcher 3 moment with that cottage? A like, nope nope that’s definitely a wraith get back back back

Leila

THE LOCKED TOMB!!! Hell yeah Erika

Sylas Storer

Rule #4 by Fish in a Bird cage is a Crazxzy pull Erika!
