Welcome to BURNING QUESTIONS, where a burning spreadsheet of questions is dropped in front of us, and we answer as many as we can before they disintegrate. No one is made even a little uncomfortable by our answers, we promise.

Dandley

Ahoo hoo

Pauraic

AHOO HOOOO 💜💚

Diana Godin

Is that an AI generated hear me out cake?

xatlern

That hear me out cake has me so ready before I even hit play. Thank you for this gift ❤️

Cathie Heyer

I’m so excited! Thank yall for doing this!

rio

AHOOHOO CRACKLE CRACKLE

Cal

NOT SPIRIT ON THE HEAR ME OUT CAKE! But I'm listening...

The Wizard Gesundheit

Oh 13 minutes in, ya there never getting to my question. (This is a joke, it’s fine, just happy to get more content)

Christian Kavanagh

'No one is made even a little uncomfortable by our answers, we promise.' Then why is the cinnamon horse on the listen-to-my-reasoning cake

Kat

i see the image and i'm sorry everyone in advance that i asked for their WWWO hear me out cake

The Occult Dice

Thanks for putting this together for us!! Crackle crackle!!

Udoka

Long covid is so scary, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with it Aabria 😢 I bought air filters for my home game now that it’s cold to make us all a bit safer.

JOE Houde

Ahoo crackle crackle FOR AN HOUR!!! What a gift

Chappy Hall

Brennan talking about how not failing leads to continued sloppy practices us too real 😂😭

Jade_Jerichooo

AHOO HOO!! Thank you for all your efforts to still feed us our little fireside treats despite such rough circumstances ❤️

Eleventh Hour Panic Productions

Brennan's "I haven't experienced negative consequences for my system so I haven't invested in a new one" take is how I am with doing things (especially, historically, schoolwork) at the last minute. Like, things always come together and work out fine, so the only negative consequence I've experienced has been all that last-minute stress (which, tbh, has gotten bad enough as I've gotten older to be more and more of a deterrent). But Erika talking about fallible memory is, like, my whole life. My memory is a friggin' colander (yay ADHD 🙃), so I've had to come up with systems and coping strategies. I can only pray to the gods of Role Playing that I find a good system when I start DMing. 😅 Also, the whole Horner Corner bit is *the* most delightful shenaniganery.

Shannon

We are not fans of AI and would never use it in any of our content! Graphic design is our passion :)

Zamp

does Will Gallows have the hustle required for an entire game of 5-on-5? Or does he get gassed out in the first quarter?

Kat

its my bad i didnt know erika would pick my q and use it to traumatize lou 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Zander Jenkins

Plus putting Nirav’s wife on the opposite team, he’d be too busy being in love to play ball

JoelleDFTBA

Naram in sea slug form. Obvis.

Morgana Evenstar

"Guidance" could also be a good name for a Tomori if you pronounced it like an Italian trying to rhyme with "Beyoncé."

katie

if I could make an alternate suggestion for a hear me out cake flavor: tres leches. nice and wet

Bor

I am forever grateful that you answered more than 200 questions

Bugbear

Huh? The clearing is the desert? What does that mean

Squillenial

I really hope I get to see Lou play a conventionally fuckable horse in a future one-shot.

Jennifer Sieben

You all startled so many squeaking laughs out of me this afternoon!

The Witch of Wandering Dreams

At the end of "the clearing" interlude it was revealed in a very epic and hauntingly beautiful way that the forest it took place in was the forest that the citadel destroyed to make the inhospitable desert they now reside in.

Taylorea

Brennan, welcome to the freak fest. We love to have you with us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wizard Susurrus

Does anyone else think that secretly, Lou is offended that no one said Itsawinnerbaby?

Jack1Spade Creations

I just see that horse face before starting and I'm wondering how it ends up in Horner Corner... Okay, I got there. And that totally makes sense. And I'm going to here me out... that kudzu spirit from arc one. I can't remember her name. But she's possessive, powerful, protective, and will fuck up anyone who youdon't like. She is absolutely a badass to have in your corner and can shift between a full encompassing being to a smoking woman.

Caleb Browning

Yay my question got answered! Always glad to learn more LORE

Bugbear

Ah ty. I have no idea how I missed that lol

The Spirit of Vicious Inspiration

'Nif, from the logo' are words I didn't ever consider hearing but now that I have I desperately need that on a t-shirt

Witch of the Wandering Thought

And here I thought listening to this ep might be a hard turn from my morning of reading Emmrich Volkarin Lich fanfics….

blue

i love you Tubbins!

Bingus2277

In my experience, as long as you get the major beats memorized, you don't need to take intensive notes DMing. The small stuff can fall to the wayside. I've been DMing since I was like 11 and I haven't ever had to take very intense notes in my campaigns! My ADHD destroys my short term memory, but long term DND memory is all good for me personally

Mad Jax

I need someone to draw the whole bit of the man in black Dunking

Blake Draut

I'm glad you asked it! Turns out I was misunderstanding the world's magic!

Dungeon Master

Having a Friends tomori host speed dating is so funny considering the spell makes you hostile after it ends. It works exactly as well as any other speed dating program but at least the first date goes well lmao.

Jessiye Davis

I am Lou, how do I get out of the clurb (Horner Corner)?

Blake Draut

I have never felt so validated by Lou at the end of this podcast 🤣

Kelly

As someone named Kelly who loves pink and (gentle, non mean-spirited) gossip I’m so excited to be a tomori. I honestly might need to cosplay this. Also wow I love the horner corner 😂

Sven the Scribe

Brennan wants Silence to give him that juice

sylvie

THE MOST CONVENTIONALLY FUCKABLE HORSE. AMEN

Al

'YOUR HEAR ME OUT CANNOT BE SPIRIT THE HORSE. THAT IS A CINCENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE HORSE.'

Jesse Massaro

🤣 I love listening to you all chat. Another great fireside! Of note you did not answer half lol, closer to 1/100th of the questions you received. Oh, how the fire must have roared when you poured the rest on. 🔥🙌☺️

blue

for the promos on social can yall please use the clip of Lou saying "i'm not a frog in a pot, i know this is hot" cause i need to share it everywhere 🙏🏽💞🙏🏽💞🙏🏽💞

Audge

I haven’t even listened to the episode and their cake is upsetting and correct.

Aiden Rosencrants

Suvi’s worst day is coming up? I’m calling it they save Silver but Steel is dead

Eleventh Hour Panic Productions

Oooo thanks for the tip! Like, I'll probably have intensive stuff for lore, but yeah, we'll be rocking highlights for what notes I take.

Tacotrashcan

I relate so much to Lou at the end of this. Hahaha

mguin

The Search for Atlanta now has a grim backstory 😂

farmerjoe_y

Or steel is revealed as an antagonist

Emily C

So glad to have Brennan win Horner Corner. Umora hear me outs: Toph - knows how to find the sparkling center point which is very important The Lion knocker - what that lion mouth do Lightning bolt tamori - electricity can be fun

The Wizard Gesundheit

This question wasn’t answered but still wanted to open this up. What would be a hedge sorcerer? I image a con-man family that goes from town to town and steal favors from local sprits before dipping.

WWMSudoku

"I can't come" - Lou Wilson

Matteo Cinotti

My hear me out is the lion door knocker. He give off big bragging sub energy and he is portable.

Noa Benson

You know its gonna be a good episode when you open it and the sexy cartoon horse is lookin at you

Sil

"I have my soapbox, and I'm carrying it to the hill I plan to die on" Brennan. No. That hill? You're not dying on it. That hill is the hill you defeat everyone on (I have used this for months, and everyone hates me for it because the consequence {with sequence 😉} is now that they can't respond with "weird hill, but at least you're dead")

Velhelm

Lou was audibly making the "What the fuck are you talking about Jesse" meme face by the end

Cortney Cline

Brennan's 'hear me out' answer was so incredibly good. I really appreciate his willingness to really try to understand those of us who live in the Horner Corner.

AsterIsk-III

As a community we must work together and produce 1. man in black in shorts and 2. horner corner fic collection featuring Pack of Vine Monsters, sub Spider Archivest Arms/Chains, Hoard Without Buttholes, and of course that old man making your dreams come true to end the interaction faster

Krusty Bo Busty

I’ve spent all year beefing with the puritanical anti-horner slippery slope furries on tiktok who think that anything remotely kinky is super duper problematic and worth ruining peoples lives over so as funny as the horner corner is, it really really is genuinely soul healing to hear that aabria and erika understand the ethics of boinking fictional non-humans

Krusty Bo Busty

You don’t. In the clurb (corner), we’re all fam (horner)

Dream Wizard Kyle Arca

I was fully with this (still am), but what got me was seeing the word boinking after idk how long it's been since I've read it last. 🤣

Dream Wizard Kyle Arca

Now see, everyone thinks The Man in Black would be a slow white boy on the court because they haven't seen him hustle. They haven't Seen him hustle. Just you wait. When war comes, he's going to hustle faster than anyone on the court. That, or he'll be the most dangerously brilliant coach the court has ever seen.

Lauren

"Suvi's worst day hasn't happened yet" 😔 "....and it happens on camera" 😣 "...immediately following her best day" 😫

Devon

I think he will jump on board to most things if he can compete and win.

Devon

Had the same thought

Stephen Bannasch

The first Wizard Sky played a big part in that incendiary magic that made the white desert. Suvi is the third Wizard Sky.

Eric Strid

Tubbins is Mr. Noodle for Wizards

DaddyDepresso

haven't listened yet just wanna know cause I'm excited did they answer my question about dragons?

Brendan

See this is why I listen to things late, cause now I want fanart of all the tomouris but it doesn't exist yet

Matty B

A basque mention we are blessed

DaphneDawn

Like… It’s a winner baby??? I want to make a “hot ass” joke but horse ain’t a donkey

Lojaan

Message tamori name gotta be "Ping!"

Glue Wilson

for lou's sake, please like if you think Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron is fuckable

Brandon Carbaugh

Every time you guys venture to the Horner Corner, Lou turns into Samwise in RotK. Sitting there rocking and weeping like, "Don't go where I can't follow!"

Glue Wilson

and if its just that people cant understand bc they arent usually attracted to men i say: jessica rabbit

Sil

That's gonna be so much more than 8 piercing damage, omfg

improbable-nox

Did not expect to get top tier Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron content in my DND actual play podcast but Aabria knows what the people need 🙏🏻

The Wizard Storm

An Identify Tamori would just be Brian Huskey from the old "If Google was a Guy" CH sketches

The Wizard Stethoscope

Now I can’t stop catastrophising about the rest of Arc 4 because they’ve just dropped some bombshell quasi-spoilers about what’s gonna happen 😱😱😱😱

Cait Batchelor

Please. I beg of you. “I’m carrying this soapbox to the hill I plan to die on” merch. I need it so so bad

Anderson Moss

I love White Men Can't Jump-ing The Man in Black that's CRAZY work

Anderson Moss

Also, basketball and the world of Umora has come up so many times now. I'm about to commission a WWW+The Fox+Neif basketball team

Carrie Mook Bridgman

I have not listened, because gross and graphic audio, specifically, is not my thing. Can someone go to Discord and give me a spoilered plit summary, please?

Ryan L.

Thank you for this and for actually taking care and concern for your employees!

FooldiverDX

I'm not so sure I can match the freak around here - Hear Me Out Cake, lol.

Carla D.

I'm sorry to hear that you have long covid and the effects its had on your ability to recall memory especially for DM'ing Aabria. Part of community care folks is wearing a mask in public and outdoor spaces, lets keep Aabria and our world safe <3!!!

Carla D.

also why yes Spirit IS the most fuckable horse, sorry not Glue Wilson

Sean Britcher

Anyone else worried listening to Aabria talking about Suvi's bad day and now really worried for Silver?

Zinnia133

Happy to see the conventionally attractive rat discourse coming up on the horner corner

Simon Mills

Every single General Contractor in the citadel saying that they need "their guys" is just waiting for more Mold Earth, Mending, and Prestidigitation Tamoris to be summoned.

Blakeley

I need art of both basketball teams, particularly Mirara and her eight knees in shorts.

Candlelighter

Wait, so has Eursolon been creating magic in Umora just by existing there?

Candlelighter

Also, every time Ame, Eursolon, and Suvi neatly divide into a trio of balanced forces, like one of each a charisma caster, wisdom caster, and intelligence caster, it blows my mind.

Natsuka

"My man came in muted, but dropped bangers every moment since" should, itself, be recognized as an all-time banger of a line

Natsuka

Strategic use of electricity to immobilize certain muscles 😳😳😳

BethKF

Super questions as usual everyone!

Dave Large

The most Brennan thing, “do you WIN the hear me out if????”

Imogen Xavier

I'm so glad they did Hear Me Outs!! My go to is Xartaza the erinyes from EXU Calamity AFTER she gets turned into the mace of the black crown........

Nefeli

Horner Corner is my favorite segment in the history of podcasting and the fact that Erika made sure we got to it is the biggest gift I could have received this week

Sam Berry-Sullivan

HMO: Murara (what that third hand do), Kosta, bioluminescent sea cucumber Naram. The cake is Boston cream pie. Everyone pants after Spirit, but no one talks about Rain 🪶💅🏻

Karlantuk

I think the Lingua Arcana would have a form of intelligence just not understood by mortals. If spells can be animated whos to say the very language itself couldn’t be given the ability to interpret itself

Carson Holcomb

*in man in black voice* get dunked on brother Ursalon

FusRohNahSon

The actual worse thing ever the Citadel has done is what Aabria said, they go about showing off their Amazing Presto doing laundry in a second to peasants

Lux ❤︎

Kinkshame your coworkers all you want, Lou — eventually something latent in the Horner Corner™️ will call to you

Iris

I was in no way ready for “The most conventionally fuckable horse” 😭😭😭

Iris

**** not disagreeing

Nathan

I am disappointed that I was given ears for this

Sean Privett

For a wizard, it's "my actions and plans can shape reality" For a sorcerer, it's "my existence and will bends reality" For a witch/druid, it's "my relationship with reality can guide reality"

The Wizard Strand

I think that’s what the reflexive indicative note is doing. Is a sorta read meta instructive referencing the following instructions as instructions which you are to execute do X.

Kelsey Aeilts

If I thought I related to Brennan before about snacks, the massive, unsorted notes on every tab available truly set the bar so much higher.

VforVenlee

Put Gramore on the bball team!

The Wizard Stoke

Nif has big "This cat can ball man" Prince energy. Then after she serves you pancakes.

Hemlock

If y'all haven't checked out Obsidian, I use it for campaign tracking. It's free, so I would recommend checking it out - its been a game changer for me

Dezzi

Thank god Aabria and Erika are here agreeing with me that that is a conventionally fuckable horse and that Hear Me Outs need to be a lil more wild than that But shout out to my conventionally attractive lion, Kovu, who got me started down the path of the Horner Corner ❤️

Wren

His hang time is crazy

The Pompous Peasant

Horner Corner with Lou's reactions, Brennan's competitiveness and the girls just to laying traps everywhere. So fucking funny, I'm still crying.

ChosenOfAeterna

Thank you all for the image of Nif tearing up the court to “More” by Usher in the background 💀

akodorokku

We already established that biting is a foul

sabertruth19

Thanks for reminding me that Jessica rabbit is another name to add to the list of things that could have helped me figure out I was gay sooner! 😹

embraceweird

my hear me out: heno heno moheji

Connor

Had an accidental “hear me out” when I described Frankenstein’s monster as hot and realized I had accidentally incorporated a YouTube video by OSP—BUT I STAND BY IT

The Wizard Syncretism

I love that fuckable animals just chase Lou through campaigns, from Emily’s sexy rat to Erika & Aabria’s Horner Corner.

Nick Gosey

Weather is lovely in South Carolina today, driving home for lunch listening to my favorite podcast on, windows down. Turn into my neighborhood and suddenly Lou Wilson's voice booms out over my car stereo, "Conventionally fuckable horse! Conventionally! Fuckable! Horse!" 😆😆😳

Amy Baker

That was a thing of great beauty. Follow up question: why do you love us so much?

Amy Baker

Indeed, all hail Erika, that was Heroic

Brandon Rilling

If i heard someone say "The most conventionally fuckable horse" i would immediately think of Spirit and im not sorry

Evelina Meiklejohn

Brennan winning the Horner Corner juxtaposed with Lou's horror and bafflement is just the best. 🤣🤣🤣 More Horner Corner please! 💖

Gotholi

HMO: the fireball temori. Truly I could justify any of the witches, but particularly Mirara. I'm honestly struggling for answers because so many of the characters are *just* hot.

Bailee Hull

I honestly CAN’T BELIEVE that Kovu didn’t come up!

Udoka

This! Standing in solidarity with clinically vulnerable people is more important than ever (and we never truly know how vulnerable we might be to a vascular disease).

A Goblin

the most conventionally fuckable horse

Joxe Anon

Basque mentioned??? Hey that's my language!

Rachael

The Horner Corner Song is the best song. 😂

Rachael

"That's a fuckable horse." 😂 SHE AIN'T WRONG.

Olivier Gx

Gramorra is def the best to pick in basket ball for defense, anybody runs from her she is legally allowed to kill them

clafford

Lou "None of These Words are In The Bible" Wilson

Zephyr

Yall slept on Bill Gallows he'd be ripping rebounds all day and stunting on you fools ➰️

Lily Lechler

Aabria, i wanna thank you for talking about dealing with long covid. My mama has been dealing with pretty extreme long covid and brain fog for a year (finally starting to improve thank to physical therapy and neurologist!) It has been really scary, and it was nice to hear someone i admire talk about their experience with it so eloquently. I'm so sorry you've had to experience it, and hope you're doing well recovering

Kael McDonald

"I can't come... into the Horner Corner" - Lou Wilson

Kael McDonald

Top-tier answer, somehow enhanced further by your Tanjiro avatar being the exact face Lou would make after reading it

Matteo Cinotti

Yeah and also now that think about it the first introduction of the lion door knocker we see him gaged in a glass display case.

Yarl

“It’s hard, because I… I don’t know that there is a single solitary person or creature in Brennan’s beautiful, rich world that I would… not… fuck”

Genna

My god Brennan , the *muhnamnum manuh mauuh man ummm* for Pomeroy's papery ass chapped lips I'm physically squirming

Moosemade

Mr. Soup, final answer

Genna

Everyone dies in 1 second due to running

Josh

the moment I saw the Spirit horse on my email notif I knew we were in for a wild trip to the Horner Corner. Was not disappointed!

Daniel Richardson

HMO: Vandal. They're composed of liquid. What that body do? More like what CAN'T that body do. Plus, they are the world champ of dirty talk already, it's like their raison d'etre.

Evin Grody

The Tubbins/Limon Longhalls crossover was one I didn’t expect and definitely needed

Sydney

Brain fog is such a debilitating side effect of so many chronic illnesses and it’s really not talked about enough.

4sight

Can we storm the Critical Role Offices and take Matt's city document template? I desperately need these godly guidelines. Please and Thank you

Mackenzie Young

the little drop by Aabria about Suvi’s best/worst day is a little anxiety inducing in this two week interlude between 38 and 39, yeesh 😂

Nathan Armstrong

Never expected to receive a grammar lesson right off the bat. You are appreciated, Brennan.

Caia~ 💖

My 5th in a line up would be a true strike tamori, that guy would never miss

Jonathan Crawshaw

Love the guidance Tomori, but his name has to be Guido

Aviva

Antecedent, behavior, consequence. Excellence as a DM relies on operant conditioning and that rules.

Aviva

For real. Abassin was quite stressful enough, tyvm. Aaagh!

Aviva

Bill 😂

Aviva

Bullshit Basque, no less. Haha I grew up in Boise. I do miss the Basque block.

Joxe Anon

I know people that have gone there! I've never been myself. I'm from the Basque Country

Aviva

I really hope some of your neighbors caught that.

Aviva

Can’t make the shot with straw in your eyes. 👀

Aviva

They’re dead by the time the foul is called so all good.

Aviva

On a quick search, I see obsidian.md and Obsidian Portal. Which? Or maybe they’re the same. I’ll have homework for later.

Aviva

But do you have a back mouth?

Aviva

The reflexive indicative isn’t even necessary, so it can’t act as a command to execute. (Pretty sure it just marks the caster so the Citadel can keep tabs. Remember all of the spells on Suvi after she had cast without using it? Stone was brilliant.)

Aviva

Magic comes from the interplay between the spirit and the real. Ame, Eursalon, and Suvi are true friends. Ergo, friendship is magic! 🪄

Aviva

Before or after she blows out her ACLs?

Aviva

100% yes!

Aviva

Prime ringtone material.

Aviva

Orima?

Aviva

What’s the Discord? I definitely squirmed a lot and skipped forward several times on the relisten… Worth it.

Aviva

Long live Tubbins!

Zephyr

We're on a nickname basis 😅

Aviva

Guidos are the other Guidance tamori. They staff the visitor centers outside the teleportation hall, portals, and the docks of each court. When folks look lost, they give a reassuring touch that helps them find their way. They’re all kindly Italian grandfathers.

Matteo Cinotti

I only agree with the door knocker part

Meghan Lewis

The great bear out here running game on spirits of all shapes, creeds, and allegiances to corporeality (FIRE and LEAF spirits) but Lou is thrown by a conventionally fuckable horse? Give it to me straight(ish), was this actually Lieue Wheilssounnng in the Horner Corner because Lou was called away for a SeaDoo emergency after the last break?!

GM Seven

I literally just did a spit take in my car in response to Lou's sigh after Aabria days "maybe he could crush my pelvis a little." I immediately had to pull over and post this comment (and clean my car).

Emily C

I thought Lou being silent was a bit in the sense that he wasn't going to be in this episode lmao

Aviva

How about Meg from Hercules, saber? My housemate has said that she should def have been a giveaway.

Aviva

Lou “I can’t come” Wilson The Horner Corner will call to him one day.

Aviva

pics pics pics!

🐧lost penguin familiar

They get dozens of amazing deep questions people want to know and they spend 20 min talking about who would be on a basketball team. 😅

Stormy Sackett

I can't come up with a HMO because all I think about are Mirara, The Stranger, and Sworn. Those aren't HMO, those are just the correct choices. 😂

Sophie Rivers

i swear these canteip tomori BETTER be in the source book when its made and with a full art page for each, cuz this is PEAK world building right here!

Sophie Rivers

of course brennan's mind would immediately go too "can i Win at the here me out cake?" lmao

One of Everything

I feel the same way about the word discipline as Brennan does about the word consequence

Cur

Yeah that was incredibly relatable

Cur

Why did nobody pick Steel for basketball??

CommodoreBlue

Rejoined the Patreon after months and have some catching up to do! This is where I left off, and I’m excited to catch up

CommodoreBlue

“The Greater Binding” led me down a wiki-rabbit hole about “The Great Binding Law,” which is something the Iroquois Confederacy had to bind the histories of the various tribes, as well as determine laws

Alexa C.

Goddamm, the thing Erika says about memory (or lack there-of) is so spot on

PastaMight

5-on-5, I'm taking Grimore. Pack Tactics and pure athleticism. Or Mr. Soup. No explanation needed.

Riley

Not sure if it's just me but this episode isn't letting me play or download through pocketcasts - all the rest of the usual episodes and firesides just not this one!

Solomon Silver

Can’t believe this is the Sir Curren reveal

Benjamin Morgan

This is the reveal of the man in blacks army

Crickets

May we please have the transcript for this fireside?

Creep

INSANE that nobody took steel for 5v5. Insane.

Alyssa

What a wild ride this episode is! Starting with the most relatable shit that hit me in my damn feels and crying as a former smart person who now has a stupid, unreliable memory due to chemo. 😭🥴 Ending with “conventionally fuckable horse” 🐎 I fucking love this insane podcast and incredible group of people

King Humble

What an absolute treasure. I could hear Lou willing himself to slip into the void while Erika and Aabria talk about horses

Piper

Assuming Patreon doesn't have a profanity filter which would render such a thing impossible, somebody has to change their nickname to "Conventionally Fuckable Horse" and get a question into a Fireside at some point

Voidtopus

Thanks to Lou Wilson for inhabiting the exact same brain space I dwell in for the Horner Corner

scarycelery

funny listening to this convo about consequences (which brennan is totally right about) immediately after registering to the ep in Starstruck where the Anti Causality Engine was introduced

scarycelery

Lou's reactions to the horner corner always have me full belly laughing

Joe Howard

Similar story to Brennan having people remember his name since he’s visible on the internet - my birthday is on April Fools Day so all my friends growing up, even ones I wasn’t that close with always remembered my birthday just cause there’s a funny holiday on it and so I always feel bad that I don’t remember theirs

Rebekah Dawn

As a concussion survivor, brain fog is a silent killer. I'm sorry you went through that
