Is there sound on this or is it just me?

Persephone

I'm also not hearing anything (I'm on an android)

mercurialprograde

Audio seems go be missing for me also. Maybe we're just too early.

Sven the Scribe

Yep no audio on the Patreon feed and download fails from the RSS. Sure they'll catch it soon

OminousOwl

No sound and it's labeled as last week's. They will fix it soon im sure

Sven the Scribe

Either that or this is Taylor's greatest troll ever following the silence at the end of last episode....

Krystine W.

Damn you, Archmage Silence! You struck again!

Tzvi

I mean the episode is called peace and quiet

JKjester

I checked it is also silent on connected apps. Thank you for your hard work all!

Morgana Evenstar

If this is a practical joke it is both funny and well-executed.

Amber

No sound on Spotify or here!!

Haus of Dreams

No sound, I am sure they will fix it soon

Ade Franklin

Oh, thank goodness for other eager beavers in the comments ready for the drop also. I thought it might have been just me. No audio!

Faith Benamy

Guys! It’s an experimental dadaist reaction podcast

iain scoular

Alright Silence attacking the great bull frog is one thing but taking out the audio here is just overkill lol

Ethaneido

I thought I was crazy for a moment

Mimi

Enjoying the peace and quiet in this one <3

Bor

Damn I sure hope I learn dispell magic soon

ChefJustinLane

I thought I was going insane. Glad everyone else found the same result

Luke

Heck, I’m not even mad. That’s amazing!

Mark van Dijken

a whole ep focussed on the wizard Silence, I would like for once to hear about the wizard Sound

worldsbeyondnumber

Sorry gang, something is glitching out with Patreon's audio upload. Working to fix it now! Gotta admit though, it's the PERFECT episode for this.

Holton Hester

Ok glad I’m not the only one😂that damn wizard

OminousOwl

Take your time, drink your coffee, light one up, we'll all be here when it's fixed :)

Jen Sadler

The Apple pod catcher version is also silent

Clayton Craft

We shouldn't have crossed Archmage Silence!!! 😭

Luke

So while we’re all in this comment section just chilling in silence, does anyone want to share their favorite moment from this here latest episode?

Ali Brown

Thank god I’m not the only one

bluebluebutton

🎶but my words like silent raindrops fell🎶

Ician

Couldn't happen on a more fitting episode lol. Good luck with the glitch, no rush, I know from experience it can be very frustrating.

Pyrohydriscence

I kept messing with the settings on my headphones till I finally just tried to listen straight off the phone and was getting all weirded out till I checked the comments

Ethaneido

That’s what Silence would say 🫵

Keir Hansen

I officially apologize for whispering something snarky about meta magic transmutation at MSG and drawing the wrath of Brennan’s superhuman hearing. I’m sorry! Please drop concentration on the silence spell!

Seth Alan Squires

While we wait, what's your guess for Lou's guest star name? I'm guessing Elemino P. Cuearez.

Pyrohydriscence

I loved the bit with Eursulon blending into the forest edge, only able to be seen by the worthy, so many chills from his arc lately!

Molly Gould

Thanks for such a quick fix!

samp

yay it works now! thanks y'all!

Alex C

I loved the entirety of the latest episode, but the thing that really got me was the lack of the outro music following the Silencing of the Great Bullfrog. Beautiful touch from Taylor.

bluebluebutton

It's a little thing, but my favorite sound design moment after the prince's introduction is the music when Eursulon is in Bracken, enjoying the play of arcane confetti in the sunlight just before being accosted by Zero. I can *see* Eursulon in slow motion, finally feeling joy seep back in, contentment starting to spread across his features, sun dappling his face and glinting off tiny speckles of confetti, as the tension of the score builds like an undercurrent beneath placid water.

Luke

I agree, Taylor is a mastermind! I remember sitting there with open mouth at the simplistic genius of that move

Karlantuk

I really wish Aiden Comfort was the guest star for this episode

Jane W

Gosh I thought for sure that was on purpose

Garrett MacFalda

I'm on pocketcasts and I can't tell if this is a bit like in junior year of fantasy high where I got gaslit into believing there was a Squeem or whoever that I completely missed

JustTaylor37

Thank you for the hot fix!! I needed my heroin😝 jk it’s not like I opened, checked, and closed the app 10 times since I’ve been up🫠

The Wizard Syncretism

The Dune / Schrödinger's cat crossover I didn’t know I wanted but desperately needed

Morgana Evenstar

Um, Actually...the Gom Jabbar is the lethal needle used to kill those who cannot master their fear. The box is just "the box."

The Spirit of Vicious Inspiration

"It's so tough too, you just keep putting sick NPCs in front of me that I just go "we're gonna have to kill them."" made me spit out my coffee goddamn

Jackson B

For sky’s cut, she needs the wizard slow cook!

Blake Draut

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION ❤️

Brandon Bicknell

Can we agree that the next non-story related mini campaign or one shot needs to be the "Wizards of Flavortown"

Haus of Dreams

Great episode! I was sad, but after this fireside I am now filled with Purpose. Thank you Brennan!

Dylan Hunter

Is anyone else having trouble playing this one through Pocket Casts? Before checking the comments on here, I thought they'd released a silent episode as a play on "Peace and Quiet"😅

Liana Twente

Yes, and the title gave me pause too.

Patrick

For anyone still having an issue, what worked for me was removing the download and marking the ep as played. Then repulling the ep and restarting. (Anything else seemed to just resume the silent version even though it had been marked removed)

Elana Danielle

yeah pocket casts seems to be having trouble replacing the original upload with the updated version. in my experience it usually takes them a few hours and it should sync up eventually tho

Elizabeth Boskey

I would just like to say I’m only partially through this episode because I cannot stop bursting into Into The Woods, Aabria!

Arbor

Feeling personally attacked by the Free Willy photo

Ajax

Um, Actually... the Gom Jabbar was the poisoned needle held to Paul's throat. The box is part of the "Gom Jabbar Test", but it is not, itself, the Gom Jabbar. Get in the comments!

Julia Whitmore

The immediate screams from Erikaabria when Brennan told them the grill was for intimidation. So true besties.

Chrys

Absolutely incredible as always

Connor Sponsler

Fighting Captain Castway "Don't fire until you see the glint of her grill"

Riley Crowder

Message Cantrip is also my immediate party spell effect. The thing i hate the most at a loud concert or busy party is trying to tell over the crowd. At a show my default action is always to text people rather than trying to yell over the show. I also love Abriaias disguise self becuase then I wouldn't have to put the effort into dressing up.

Elizabeth Boskey

Damn it. I managed not to burst into tears until the end because I'm so scared but also I'm a trans health researcher and all I can do is The Work and...I need the glow

Seantal Salters

I can’t be the only person who immediately purchased the movie Wizards.

Archon of Commoragh

I am sure the Great Bullfrog just got banished. They're doing fine in the Spirit World.

Alec

Captain Castway just reminds me of Janeway no matter what you say tbh

GC

Hang in there. Thank you for what you do 💙🩷🤍🩷💙

Ashley Teatum

I just started the episode and now I can't wait to understand this logic, I adore Janeway 🖖

Levi Dettling

The man in black with a gun gives Dark Tower vibes.

bails 🌀 witch of the what the fuck

sorry about everyone else’s fancasts but the Prince is so clearly Belgian musician Tamino. he was barely described in the ep and yet in my mind’s eye 💭😗👌🏻

Lucas Copeland-Nguyen

without looking at anyone else's comments or any other page I always thought it was spelled "timori"

Connor Sponsler

He's got the gun from the slinger and the vibe of the villain

Emily Mitchell

Philip "Magic Mouth" Orca himself, wow

Alec

He straight up is just from The Dark Tower series. I want to hear Brennan and the sound design say "I do not kill with my gun, he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart."

Augi5000

Anybody else not getting any audio when trying to play the ep on PocketCasts? I can listen here so it's nbd, just letting y'all know!

Katy Amsden

I'm having the same issue with Spotify

Kasa

Any possibility of a feed reupload for the audio issue? I can't seem to download the file from the mobile site for Patreon.

Cody Zimmer

Right there with you on that discussion about clarity in sight of horror. Solidarity to all of you.

Lauren

If Silver is worth anything he would not only approve of the prince as Suvi's hall pass but would wear it as a badge of honor

Luckyy

Trick magic item is a very fun skill in pathfinder, as well as there being class specific skills, like Kineticist can use any magic item that’s of the elements they can bend

Jazz

Thanks for what you're doing, from a trans 🩷🩵🤍

Jazz

I'm thinking something like a cinnamon shawarma full of comfort and flavor that makes you happily melt.

Jazz

The meme of the two books side by side, one is thick and one is thin, above which reads "WBN if the Man in Black has a gun vs not"

Bob Chapman

I wonder if anybody else has been a hipster in DC, heard Erika's description of the chill tent, and immediately remembered Food For Thought (iykyk)

Jack Jones

Guys!!!! You cant just drop lore bombs about the brass wizard like that haha... damn i need to finish making its design

Ale

In the WWW movie Steel is Juliette Lewis but only if Steel is white. Heinrul is Viggo Mortenson. Sworn is Minoru Chiaki.

Ale

Eastern Promises Viggo

Martian

Well now I gotta play a spice mage

Bob Chapman

Thank you for taking that bullet of being pedantic for the rest of us

Shadarous

Brennan I have loved the climax to Wizards from the moment I watched it way too young at way to late at night!!

Chris Kagamine

I love that even before the Fireside, I KNEW the prince was a twink (it does not help that my most recent intake of Princes are the Webtoons: "The Blind Prince", "High Class Homos", "Castle Swimmers", and "The Remarried Empress". So, picturing him as a tall slender man with slightly feminine features is how I picture princes. I guess I have a prince type)

Brandon Brewer

Speaking as a man who's lived in Louisiana for his whole life, we love a parade!

Lauren

and to you ♥️

Felix

i've not seen the wizard movie but i HAVE seen the gifset/clip of the evil wizard getting shot on tumblr.

Ch1pp3dH34rt

That’s gotta be a Witch, Coven of the Green build if I’ve ever seen one 🤣

Aviva

Message cantrip for concerts and nightclubs is a *banger.*

Aviva

Do it! Do it! Do it!

Aviva

Who says couples can’t share a hall pass?

Dream Wizard Kyle Arca

Brennan: "You shouldn't watch Wizards" Me, who just borrowed it from a friend because the ONLY scene I've seen is the ending they talk about: 👀😅

Aviva

I can see it. Bro’s nose is aquiline AF.

Aviva

Definitely my proposal for this week’s movie night!

Aviva

You got this. And we’ve got you. Thank you for your wonderful efforts. 🏳️‍⚧️

Aviva

Hell yeah. Text sometimes and aggressively wave the phone and point to it. 😄

Aviva

Make sure you fly the next time you go to Tijuana. 😂

Aviva

At his neck, not the throat.

Aviva

Do I get bonus pedant points for correcting a correction? In any case, the gom jabbar wasn’t used solely by the Bene Gesserit. You’re right about it being the poisoned needle though!

Felix

EVERYONE'S GOT A PARADE!!!

Ajax

You get the point I would have gotten, I think.

Aviva

Dude, fuck Guild Mage Fieri. Going around leaving arcane glyphs on people’s restaurants.

Aviva

The great houses had gom jabbar as well. Only the Bene Gesserit use it in conjunction with the box o’ pain.

Aviva

I hope Lou puts that one in his pocket.

Anthony Smith

Oh Brennan… After all of the gifts you have bestowed upon us you have now given knowledge of Wizards.... I have no more personality. I have experienced full ego death. I no longer exist outside of my knowledge of that trailer

Aviva

Just gotta let that mesquite wound fester.

Seth Alan Squires

Both Brennan and Mr Orca used "Lou" to refer to him this episode. It was like watching Santa's beard slip.

GC

Hey, great episode! +1 to Leomund's Tiny Hut as a party spell. I had the sudden realization while listening that mine manifests as the nurse's hut from Sleep No More

GC

Movie highly recommended, you'll never really stop watching it

Domtext

In terms of turning injustice into purpose, especially the way these folks do, I would highly recommend “Never Say You Can't Survive: How to Get Through Hard Times by Making Up Stories” by Charlie Jane Anders

samp

WBN soundtrack concert tour when

Matt Rose

I watched Wizards when I was way too young and it definitely shaped something in me.

Strange Universe

Absolutely. It also made me want to check out the rest of the works of Ralph Bakshi. "Oh, he did a Tolkien movie, cool. Oh, he did a cartoon called Fritz the Cat? Oh my I'm way too you g to see this!" And later on at a more appropriate age I saw Coonskin and got my ass radicalized LOL

Strange Universe

Watch Coonskin...you'll either turn it off immediately or become radicalized.

Strange Universe

I'm sorry, Aviva but you didn't say 'um, actually' so no points.

samp

i'd be sobbing the entire time

Bog Station: Remembrance

God damn y’all this Wizards tangent does NOT disappoint. I haven’t seen this movie since I was (too young) and it’s amazing to me how much I remember just by the fucked up hits they discuss. Whew.

Brandon Carbaugh

Bene Geserit IT got me good. On a headset in a call center in a giant black habit. Caller's like, "No, I have my hand in the box now; it's not doing anything." "Did you do the Litany? If you didn't do the Litany, you need to unplug the box, do the Litany, then plug it back in."

Shriek the Mighty

Is anyone else just... not able to hear anything? I'm not hearing any audio at all when I try to listen through Podcast Addict, or on the mp3 I downloaded onto my computer. Listening directly through patreon is the only way I can actually hear the episode.

Shriek the Mighty

Looks like this was fixed right as I made my comment! Thank you!

Ickle Tayto

While it's been fixed on here, it doesn't appear to have been fixed on the podcast apps

Shriek the Mighty

I deleted and redownload the episode on Podcast Addict and that gave me the fixed version. It'll say at the top of the episode description if it's the version with the fixed audio.

Just a Fox

That's until you have trouble hitting your friends with it and accidentally speak into the mind of strangers 😅

Lo

Brennen talking about being at a party and wanting to message people about needing to go is SO RELATABLE.

Ashlie Stuckey

Okay, so my partner picked up a copy of Wizards 1977 about six months ago and I have watched it like four times since he got it. I'm obsessed with this absolute mindfuck of a movie. Details that Brennan forgot because why the fuck would he remember this movie is a fever dream: 1. They DO actually talk about how Blackwolf (bad wizard) and Avatar (gnome wizard) are brothers in the exposition at the very beginning. Nothing about this exposition matters at all until the last 5 minutes of the movie. 2. This is Mark Hamill's first film. He did a voice for it during the filming of the first Star Wars movie. 3. Originally, the film was supposed to be called War Wizards, but George Lucas asked them the change the name for obvious reasons. 4. The wiggly 70s funk music they use in the war scenes and throughout is amazing and completely does not fit the vibe. There's so much more to be said about this fucking film, and I completely disagree with Brennan, ya gotta watch it once. The art throughout is really well done and it is just such a fun watch. Invite some friends over, get some pizza, and just enjoy the art that is Wizards 1977.

Lauren

fantastic point certainly not me

Carrie Mook Bridgman

Re: refuge from an overstimulating party or concert, I fall asleep. My husband loves heavy metal music, and I will sometimes go to a concert with him, but after half an hour of physical assault by sound waves, I shut down and fall asleep.

Kelsie Crawford

The Citadel of Flavortown is in Comida and no one can tell me otherwise

worldsbeyondnumber

Hey Benedict, we can only control things on Patreon. Any problems with a specific podcatcher will need to be solved on your end. Try deleting and redownloading the ep. Hope this helps! -t

marmot

I'm experiencing the same thing on Pocket Casts sadly, haven't figured out a solution yet.

Carrie Mook Bridgman

Mine was Suvi's conversation with Steel. The noticeable change in her keeping a secret and doing that insight check, and the music behind it--while at the same time she's still "I love my mommy" at Steel's understated but clear response to Rasper.

Joshua Tewell

Same problem. Podcast downloads but then just skips through 10 seconds at a time and never plays. Just this episode. Have tried re-downloading it and even reinstalling pocket casts.

Carrie Mook Bridgman

Sometimes the guest is just for the Fireside, talking about Lou's performance in the episode. Sometimes it was the guest performing. And sometimes they forget during the Fireside which it was.

Carrie Mook Bridgman

I looked up shawarma. Now I have to try to find a shawarma in Louisville, KY, because it sounds incredible.

Amphiby

Well indri was almost on the list so he should be relieved by her backup

The Witch of Warp and Weft

The lack of music in the outro hit me so hard that I legitimately can’t remember any of the music from the rest of the show. That was painful….

Eric Davies

This also didn't work on Castbox, it was just a full silent file.

Amphiby

Me listening to that entire wizards expose then googling it and finding out it’s ANIMATED I had to restructure all my emotions in a second flat I was fully imagining a cross between labyrinth and the dark crystal

kaguya_yoru

This episode and fireside was yet another example of what I love best about The Wizard, The Witch, and the Wild One: the four of you are truly building a complex, living, breathing world together and then on top of that, through interludes and secret scenes in episodes, we the audience are invited to immerse ourselves fully in that world by knowing things that the main characters (or even the actors playing them!) don't know. This truly feels like a masterclass in storytelling and every main and fireside episode has been a joy to listen to and even more fun to analyze. ❤️ Also, the best party spell is Heroes' Feast: curing all poison has to mean an instant sobering up and then you can fall asleep happy and full when the party is over. 🥰

Benny Rodriguez

Honestly when I saw the title was called "peace and quiet" I thought that you were just trying to give me an hour of that...

Aviva

I *literally* thought about forgetting “um, actually” in bed last night. Lost opportunity, for sure.

Candlelighter

I was picturing it animated, not cause I knew it was, but because Ralph Bakshi also did a lord of the rings film and *that* was animated.

Eric Davidson

That wound needed a bland-aid(tm)

Mike Elliott

I can't believe you guys were able to get Phillip Orca on the show! I remember first seeing him star in the knockoff 90s movie "Free Philly" 🐋

Milan Ohrndorf

With this comment I hope to pressure you in the kindest way possible, to release a soundtrack for the music made by taylor moore, because i really really really really really really really need it in my life and in my ttrpg games. I always search google for some of the soundtrack by him, knowing I will probably be left empty. love your podcast, love your story and love the direction in editing and music/sound taylor gives to everything! Kindest regards from me!

Glen Petrofski

It's funny because I know what spell I wish I could have at parties but know deep down that I would actually use teleport because I have a habit of there just being a switch that gets flicked and I just go straight to bed. It is especially bad when we are entertaining and I hit that because I just go straight to bed leaving my partner to deal with everyone. Worst part is I didn't realise I did it until it was brought to my attention a few years ago.

Glen Petrofski

Also, ANZAC biscuits for the win. The best you will find that is super easy to make and if I remember correctly the base for milk bar pie.

Pretty Penny

Is anyone else having trouble listening to this episode using the RSS feed through Pocket Casts app (Android default casting app)? There's no audio for me. Other episodes are fine. Tried downloading, checking BlueTooth, scrubbing, rebooting phone—all my usual troubleshooting to get past a bug. Nothing has worked so far this time.

Channing Kimble-Brown

I'm having the exact same issue! Guess I'll just listen on the patreon app for now

Just_Another_Joseph

Same. The dead air audio on Pocket Casts is still the same.

shubidoe

In the rage to purpose talk brennan says: the white (gets cut off). and my brain autocompleted to the white house. and i felt that a lot

Tristan Louet

I was just thinking that the other day! I'd listen to an OST album for sure 😌😊

Jason Land

Yup. I’ve listened to all of their previous episodes just fine on Pocket Casts but this one is just silence.

TrashCritical

Boufon here absolutely delighted by the answers tiny hut duplicate and magic mouth are all just poifect choices. Mine will always be mage hand. Get drinks for people without leaving your spot hold your friends hair back from a distance cover your drink with it so no one can mess with it, truly the goat when it comes to like any practical use.

Evelina Meiklejohn

"I want to take [that grille] out of her face!!" With your face? 😏🤭

susan tiss

Living for the Wizards reference!! I was 10 or 11 years old (I turned 11 that summer) when Wizards was released. My younger brother and I were visiting grandma (in a somewhat small town with a nearby multi-screen movie theater) and we convinced her to drop us off at the movie theater. It was a time when adults didn't necessarily go to the movies with their older children AND a time when an almost 11 year old was certainly expected to watch out for her younger brother (he was 9). We bought tickets to some kids movie, I don't remember which. Then, we snuck into Wizards. I have seen it a few times since and it is quite clear that seeing that movie at that age really shaped me. **A friend and I used a similar tactic a few months before (back home... not at grandma's) to see The Man Who Fell To Earth with David Bowie.

JUST anxious

Just in case you wanted too, wizards is free to watch on the internet archive.

Sam Satalic

The sound design/music sets the scene so well in each episode and adds so much depth to each scene. It's so good, and it inspired me to get into sound as well!

Launch

The psychic damage i took listening to everyone talk about the weird animated movie my burnout dad showed me as a kid, was *immense*

Dreamkin

Is there any way you can clip the part where Brennan was talking about converting their rage into purpose? I want to share that far and wide.

Matthew

The audio is a little messy. Better to clean it up a little and paraphrase in text: "Rather than giving you sadness, I hope that this gives you a clear white feeling of purpose." -Brennan Lee Mulligan But you could also take solace in some of these others: "Action is the antidote to despair." -Joan Baez "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." -Martin Luther King, Jr. "Because I remember, I despair. Because I remember, I have the duty to reject despair." -Elie Wiesel "History has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own. -Michelle Obama "Despair and frustration will not shake our belief that the resistance is the only way of liberation." -Emile Lahoud "We draw our strength from the very despair in which we have been forced to live. We shall endure." -Cesar Chavez "To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than despair convincing." -Raymond Williams

Benjamin Lawlor

Sound track. Sound track. Sound track. please.

Sil

Don't lie to us about soft cookies... Silence is a Palpatine snake in the water. Silence is full of snakes.

Jessica Cola

All the talk of parades in the fireside had me thinking of 'Built Then Burnt [Hurrah! Hurrah!]' by Thee Silver Mt. Zion - Let's have a parade. It's been so long since we had a parade, so let's have a parade! Let's invite all our friends. And all our friends' friends! Let's promenade down the boulevards with terrific pride and light in our eyes: twelve feet tall and staggering.. Sick with joy with the angels there and light in our eyes. https://youtu.be/bKQWYFHt560

Ajax0fSpartax

I can’t wait for the day that we find out that one of the strongest wizards of the citadel, (like the wizard swish or something) is a wish spell tomori and can cast any spell because of it.

Lee

You can rent wizards on prime and youtube and apple tv

Len

I really hope we get a soundtrack, I’m still stuck on the themes from WitchCon (Hakea’s/Woodland Green Waltz SLAPS-) and The Great Bear, Taylor is a GENIUS

Kevin Turner

It’s telling how rich this episode was that in the fireside we got barely if any mention of our (clearly played by JK Simmons) prison buff Merlin and new addition to “Brennan why you so good at making up wizards” the Wizard Slain. I need to hear more about the Wizard Slain

Andrew Gribat

Hey I know y'all didn't mean anything by it, but can you not use content warnings as a place to make jokes? It wouldn't be acceptable if it was labeled as a trigger warning, which is the term that content warning replaced. MBMBAM labels them as "talking points" which works just as well to set up the list of oblique, funny bit names without doing the bad thing.

Andrew Gribat

The right wing has done enough "Trigger warning: list of things that aren't triggering" jokes they weren't funny there and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth now.

DaphneDawn

Oh my goodness when Brennan said he knows what was waiting for them in the heart of the forest! Anyone else low-key think it was Sir Curran? That still hasn’t been revealed to the PCs yet and would have been sick as hell in every sense

DaphneDawn

Same Phil Orca got me hard with that line

DaphneDawn

The Archmage Silence

Moss

I love that all their party spell answers are about how to best leave the party 😂

Rick

“There is a certain place at which we have to presume that the rules for D&D are only the rules for brave and heroic adventures.” I am making a guidebook for my homebrew campaign to give to my players as a wrap gift and the last 10-15 pages deal with the contradictions in the world and this amazing cast just knocked it out of the park and summarized it in a 2 min conversation around this quote. You all are amazing inspirations, and it is an honor to get listen to you perform your craft. Thank you.

Manzabar

I initially did, but noticed the episode notes were updated to mention working audio. I deleted the file I'd previously downloaded, pulled down a fresh copy, and then it worked.

Manzabar

My question on this was if Erika really does make a Bene Geserit IT support character; will they be some sort of artificer? Or perhaps more appropriately, a cleric of a dark god? As it usually takes some form of blood sacrifice to fix IT issues?

Maya M

I can't wait to watch this excellent recommendation 🤣

Jake

I thought the Tamori next to the prince was revivify

Chris Maier

The music! This is TLDR, probably but: I got to visit Sweden last summer, to go to a bunch of locations from a computer game series I've been playing for like 20 years (MDNA's Carol Reed series), and walking around Sweden was wonderful. So, I was walking in my PNW neighborhood listening to "Peace and Quiet", and the vibe in the forest scene, and the music in that scene, fully sent me back to wandering around in Sweden. Amazing. Love the show, love the music, you guys are awesome.

Brett Seivwright

I’ll just wait here until the matcha cookie recipe is up

Matt

Yo, @Matthew B, are these posted anywhere that’s easier to copy-paste-save for later?

The silence reveal has me Shooketh

May

“Eursulon is desperately reaching for anger and rage and cannot find it. Whatever kind of red molten feeling he wants to have, it is replaced by the clear white feeling of purpose.” Hello friends, I hope you are told often and effusively about what your work means to people. But, if you’ll allow me, I want to thank you one more time and share what the world of Umora has meant to me. Working at a refugee agency in Indiana right now is, frankly, bad. Your story (while not exactly a stress free place), has been a port in the storm of news and doomscrolling and fear. I began listening to the Children’s Adventure in November, in a moment when human goodness or kindness felt a million miles away. The story you created was a slow, quiet, safe place to grieve. In a long series of bleak moments, it was also an escape into delight and the promise of something that felt like hope. In my work, I get to call families and tell them that after years or decades of waiting, their loved ones are finally escaping to safety. That there is a flight booked with a seat for them. Your stories were in my ears during the late-night holiday airport pick ups, calming my frazzled and overworked nervous system as we worked long hours to get people to safety before the doors closed. And then, after the 20th, after I broke the news to parents, children, siblings, grandparents, and dear friends of people who had their flights canceled overnight, your stories of resistance and kindness in the face of cruelty were waiting for me. I hope everyone on your team knows how precious their art is: from the four of you who act; to those of you on music, editing, and sound effects; to those of you who run numbers and logistics and social media and probably many other jobs that are necessary in creating something so beautiful. You are doing something miraculous in the world. Or, at least, your story has done something miraculous in me. It’s been holding a space for hope. And I’m so grateful. Malaina

Jayden Hurst

When was it stated that Adina has to fall in love to cast shield?

Pen of Dras

The fireside where they discuss Abassin? It was the act of that Adina casting sheild on one of the constructs Brennan had said iirc

The Wizard Sparrow

Great fireside chat as always 🦊🔥. I like molasses cookies too.

RNietzsche

Tamori are made out of people/spirits. Calling that shot.

LowJay

Newb here. Who are kids that need rescuing and where did the come from?

John Bigelow

Detect Alignment for a Party would be awesome

TētēKura

I was convinced Lou *cought* sorry, Philip Orca was making up the final scene details about Wizards 1977. Well, having gone and watched that scene. Wow. What a film. Praise be the most leprechaun looking gun wielding wizard hitting his brother with, "im glad you changed your lastname you son of a bitch".

Within the world of Umora, there are many great spirits, with some holding very close relationships with mortals. The great bullfrog is a spirit from around Twelve Brooks (where we be going), who's magic seems to be connected to some of the local people, giving them the ability to do frog stuff (swim, croak, bubble magic, etc?). It was revealed in episode 40 that the Citadel has been taking the local people and their children who show that frog magic.

Thanks much

Andrew Gribat

I mean unless Sir Curran got spirited away to the spirit realm or otherwise put in stasis (by a witch?), he's super dead by aging if nothing else.

OK this is my first time hearing of this person, but the Prince's hair is DEFINITELY that good!

Bizarre Little Star

Omg Wizards shout out! 😂 I saw that movie much too young and my family quotes it so much. THEY GOT FRITZ! THOSE LOUZY STICKING YELLOW FAIRIES!

Sam Berry-Sullivan

Not even ten minutes in to this and there have been two bits so legendary, so phenomenally funny, I still have not recovered: The Spice Mages and Schrodinger’s Gom Jabbar

Vanessa Seatang

after listening to the firesides i am now fully committed to burning down the citadel

Prof_Bahamut

So, we all heard magic mouth and thought something different right? Right? 🥴🥹

Theo Lee

Finally catching up and today I learned that Wizards is Mark Hamill's movie debut (came out around the same time he was cast as Luke Skywalker)

“*Wheeze* Buckles” sent me into a taaaaaaailspin!!!!!!!!!!!! My sides hurt from laughing so hard!

The Pompous Peasant

I've listened to twelve brooks but don't understand the bullfrog thing. Somebody explain? Thanks!

Swiftly (Witch of the Wacky Wordplay)

The great bullfrog is the great spirit worshiped in Twelvebrooks who blessed one of the main characters of that episode. He's just been stone cold murdered by Suvi's boss

Rachel

I just realised as I listen to the fireside chat that I have always pictured the man in black in Westworld as the man in black here as well.

aych

i was not prepared to have Ralph Bakshi's Wizards referenced in the fireside holy shit

DaphneDawn

Someone missed the after credit scene at the end of arc 3 🐻🛡️

Molly mc

Archmage Fieri of Flavortown is my favourite thing ever

Lulu

Erin Michelotti

I will absolutely be chilling with Erika’s girlfriend at the club. Lofi beats & tea while all my extroverts dance? Yes please

DeVonte Skillern

Isn't the ability Brennan described just the mislead spell?

Wesley Jones

"I'm gonna show ya a trick ma taught me when you weren't around"

Trey Lord

"Schrōdinger's Gom Jabbar" has made every single monthly payment worth it.

MillerGeek Art

Just listening to this and struck by Brennan not realizing mesquite thorns actually have a bit of venom that makes them hurt all the more.

Ian Roberts

Aabria understood the LOTR reference!

Alyssa

Brennan says we’ll never know what was waiting in Haliker Forest for them, so thank goodness they did “OTHER TOMORROWS” and tell us! Thank youuuuu ☺️

Natecharodon

My favorite fireside tradition is easily Brennan fighting for his life to not RUDELY laugh at our illustrious guests introduction

King Humble

Every time I see that Free Willy picture, the only thing I can think of is "HADOUKEN!"
