The cliffhangers are ending me man 😭 Things are heating up.

Sven the Scribe

Get Girl Three her medal and her own spin-off one-shot!

Alyssa

Yax & Harls sounds like some sort of hipster restaurant in Williamsburg in 2010. With a lot of mustache themed decorations , Edison lights, and lots of bacon on the menu. 🥓

Jess A

This was so intense. What do you MEAN that's all I'm allowed to find out this week?? I'm so invested!

Alyssa

“Three is the most misogynist nickname I’ve ever heard. Three is literally inside directing traffic and has saved countless lives. Three is a first responder. Three was with the Freedom Flotilla. Three is going to get a medal at the end of this campaign. Three is my current bestie.” 🫡🫡🫡 I can’t wait to find out Three is either nonbinary and Three is their chosen name OR her name is Tri, like a nickname for Trinity or Trina

Ithireal

So excited for moooooore 😭

tiff

GAHHHHHHHHHHH I HAVE CHILLS!!! I NEED MORE!!!!!!

Jill K.

THAT WAS IT?! Damn you, Lou Wilson!

Lena

I loved the whole skill challenge of the collapsing building, and the very visceral descriptions of crumbling brick and twisting steel - the sense of urgency even as it technically happens in dnd combat super slow mo

C

I absolutely love how creative Lou is as a DM in how he uses rolls to build tension and stakes-he did such a good job of that in Icharon as well and this episode was the fastest 45 mins of my life!! Dying for the next episode, can’t believe I have to wait another two weeks!!

wick

Imagine if they all just die in the building….

Bree M

This is the scariest kaiju movie I’ve ever listened to

kaguya_yoru

I think there is something wrong with the RSS feed again because I don't see this week's episode on YouTube Music 😢

Donnie K

Spoiler: . . . . . . . . . The whole episode was just them escaping down a fire escape and it was the most tense hour of audio I've heard in a LONG while. Kudos, Sir Lou Wilson.

wick

Lou, you are a psychopath.

The Wizard Solace

Just arrived at my regular 1st world day job with adrenaline PUMPING.

The Witch of Whys and Y’s

This is Episode Three for our girl, Three. I want a little bonus episode like, five or ten minutes from Three’s POV to recap all the amazing shit she is doing in this catastrophe. Three is the hero we need. ♥️♥️♥️

Jane

Holy shit, y’all. Hats off to Lou, for real.

cosmicSquid

I just finished this episode and immediately have to go back and listen again

Andrew Guthy

Hey Abigail. Hey girl. You fucked up. Based on the first 15 minutea of this episode you fumbled so bad.

confusedtealseal

This is the first campaign where I've been a little bummed out when the action happened because I was so happy just listening to these people all hang out, I love this campaign so much

Dream Wizard Kyle Arca

THREE IS THE PC OF A PERSON I LARP WITH! 🤣 I IMMEDIATELY shared that moment with the group. 🤣❤️

Emil Rivera

With a story this freaking good why are the episodes shrinking. At this rate the next one will be like 25 minutes long and then we’ll enter the excruciating pace of One Piece. Give us more, damn it!!!! Respectfully, of course!

SeminoleDVM

The jazz under the fire escape stuff is such a great choice. Cowboy bebop vibes.

Elizabeth Boskey

That was one of the most stressful and upsetting things I have ever listened to. Lou, you are sadistic and brilliant.

AbbeyRandom

1 That roar at the end gave me full body goosebumps, my hairs all stood on end, and I felt my neck hackles “go up” so well done. 2 thank you for the music design. This was very hard to listen to and I had to pause to cry quite a few times. Don’t know if I would’ve been able to listen without the score. My heart goes to those experiencing these kinds of terrors today

CJ Bonifati

Lou is just spitting fire this campaign

Nick Hortie

i love this so much can we get 6 more season and a movie please?

Aaron J. Shay

This is some of the most creative use of gaming combat mechanics. I'm on the edge of my seat the whole time.

L J

The music right before the outro is *chef's kiss*

Fractis

This was amazing! So intense! But why was it only 45 minutes?!? We wait two weeks for this drop in a bucket?!? This is some of the best ttrpg anywhere, but I would take a slightly lower production value over this miserly level of brevity. Am I alone here? I can't be the only one who thinks waiting two weeks for 45 minutes of content is a bit much, right?

Fractis

I am SO glad I wasn't the only one thinking this!🥰

Jules

DAMN.

Jules

tfw when you've just listened to one of the best TTRPG episodes you've ever heard but u can't articulate what's so good about it bc you can feel blood pounding in your head

Thalia Arias

I need atleast 2 hours brother! Pleaseeeeee

Rowan Dalzell

I have watched footage of actual real life disasters that never made me nearly as physically scared as these descriptions by Lou.

Carl Nelson

Lou's prose is amazing. All the narration in these episodes is so perfect at painting a picture

Jenn with two Ns

Goddamn Lou. You found your sweet spot. We are all hyperventilating

C

Idk I think it's cool that these immensely talented creators provide incredible stories for free and without ads; I don't feel like I am owed a certain amount of anything by them on a certain timeline.

Robert Thomson

Lou Wilson, that man that you are! Absolutely brilliant, loved the descriptions of disaster and the mechanics and the everything. Also, justice for Three. I hope they honour the Bit with her.

Erin

Holy SHIT. I was so tense during this episode. The pacing is so good! Lou!! You sick son of hamster, that was so good, I was so scared.

Colibri

My soul needs approximately 1,000 more episodes of this, my body however probably could not take it. I was so tense the whole time!!!

Ryan McHugh

Hey, here’s a fun idea, just give us the rest of the episodes now so we can listen to them. Having to wait two weeks for the next episode is the real monster.

Dominoes

I think this episode was the most stressed I've ever been listening to anything ever, even more than the episode of www where they're trying to escape the giant flesh monsters

Cackle Cackle

“This is all happening because we threw the suitcases in the bay!” This is how my mind works as well. Lou, you’re doing such a crazy good job with this!! It’s been incredibly immersive and riveting to listen to. Love the world building. Super excited. I’m working really hard to not give you guys medical triage instructions. IT’S A STORY

naemless

This the most stressed I have been listening to an episode! Lou’s ability to narrate tension is so impressive! (This is also the most flustered I have been listening to an episode because of Cullen’s competency. The contrast between blacking out and doing flip to “Pure Prince Shit” is the duality of man)

Adelaide Ritzman

Dear Lou, your narration is INCREDIBLE - please write a book someday!!

Fxd Gear Queer

I feel you, this went by so fast! But sometimes that's just how the story beans shake out. 1st ep was a 2hr chonker, so it probably evens out overall

Swaff

this was the most stressed I’ve ever been while cooking oatmeal

Grace B

Shout out to the editing and sound design on this one! Amazing job

Evelina Meiklejohn

My adrenaline went CRAZY listening to this episode!! So terrifying and incredible!! 💖

Keith Frederick

Awesome episode! Didn’t want it to end!

Brandon Carbaugh

Nauseatingly exciting. That was some Poseidon Adventure shit.

D0C.0PP

JFC Lou my commute to work was insane today.

Ayden

HOW DARE YOU END THE EPISODE THERE

Peter Crowell

This whole thing has been amazing. Lou is truly gifted. Brennan's arc so far is fascinating, Erika is, as always a gift to listen to, but OMG Ally, their best work I have watched/ listened to ever and I am a fan of all of their chaotic work

Ari Yovel

Unrelated question but I don't know where else to put it: has anyone else not gotten their backerkit email from the Children's Adventure Kickstarter yet? Who do I contact about checking on that?

Eric Osborne

Calling it now, Harley’s first kiss is gonna be with TheThirdOne.

Matthew

Lou is SO GOOD at these tense action scenes.

Ryan McHugh

Extremely reasonable, thank you for your time.

Jenn with two Ns

Woah, that was weeks ago. There's an email on the kick-started page. Contact them asap

Peter Ellis

I like the theory that "Three" is Aabria's character.

Witch of the Whispered Word

GOD LOU THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! And the sounds design!!!! Y’all just keep outdoing yourselves this is truly one of my favorite dnd episodes of all time now

Fxd Gear Queer

Kinda worried for Cull there. Already down 16 HP and all his 2nd wind. Can't see them resting anytime soon... Anyone know what level they are, 5ish?

Ronan Meikle

Lou is absolutely killing the DMing for this series, this episode had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, heart in throat. The absolute contrast to the light-hearted mood of the first couple of episodes was so incredibly well thought out and amazingly executed. Absolutely can't wait for the next episode!!! 😍

Fractis

Keeping in mind that I love everyone involved in making this amazing storytelling, we do need to acknowledge that they have over 33,000 paying subscribers. At $5/month, that's $165,000 every month they're making. And while this is the best actual play out there, if it was me doing it, I might feel kinda bad about making people wait two weeks for 43 minutes of content under these circumstances.

tcjs

The descriptions at the beginning of this gave me genuine fear. I’ve had nightmares about being on a tilting f-ing roof, Jesus christ. Hats off to Lou for his visceral painting of the scene

tcjs

Loved Collin‘s (Brennan‘s) commitment to the ‚this is catastrophe, survival above everything‘ vibe - really helped to even further underscore the intensity of the situation.

GC

@Fractis, i'm very confused by this comment. what does the monthly income figure have to do with it? are you implying this episode was shorter than the others because they're hoarding or wasting money or over-paying people or making the music too good? what if they thought (considering the 'story beans', as @Fxd Gear Queer put it) that these start and end points were the most dramatically effective entry to and exit from this episode? what if, given that decision and the recordings (which weren't scripted and can't be re-done), a 43-minute edit led to the most impactful and propulsive experience? they should have left in more "um"s? or they should have overridden their storytelling instincts and let us have a scene or two after [SPOILER] hears the [SPOILER] while walking towards the [SPOILER], leading to a shorter episode #4?

GC

"Three was with the Freedom Flotilla" in particular had me happy-laughing during a VERY stressful and VERY well-done episode, thanks Lou for the world and Brennan for the line and everyone for everything!

Fxd Gear Queer

Ho boy, we're breaking out the calculator again. Pick your poison among the following: 1. The main feed is and remains free. The paid part is the fireside, as well as making sure this remains ad-free. 2. This is everyone's 3rd job, and nobody is living off 165k, minus taxes, divided by 4 + Mel + editing & sound. 3. This is art, not an extruded podcast product where you can just push the button the get 20 % more. Again: I don't think it's unreasonable to want more of the things you love. But maybe try to consider the reality of the situation? Also: I meant to say "story beats" earlier, but found the typo too amusing to change.

GC

@Fxd Gear Queer: well said, and i liked 'story beans' -- made perfect sense! :)

#KittyLearnsToCook

Omg this episode made my fitness watch ask me if I was ok

Peter Crowell

As much as I loved this description, I was more picturing Andre the Giant catching Princess Buttercup

tcjs

I also love how there’s absolute devastation and we haven’t even *properly* met the monster yet. Like in this format you really get to get into the nitty-gritty of what the fuck does it actually mean when the monster hurls a ferry/car/(swap it out for anything big that movie monsters like to hurl) at a building?

Bunnay Ch33ks

I love horror. It's my favorite genre. This is by far the my horrifying thing I've ever listened to. Imma go lay down to get my heart rate back to normal level. Bravo all of you

Sam Berry-Sullivan

SERIOUSLY. What do you mean the world/character building eps were 2 hours apiece, but once the action starts it's just shy of an hour and all the characters accomplish is to *leave a building*. 2 HOUR EPS FOREVER

Sean Hoffman

Lou is knocking it out of the park as DM. The descriptions of the town culminating in this destruction - seems like a couple of lessons from Jurrassic Park.

Sean Hoffman

Anyone else want to be in the same vicinity as Brennan if something pops off after listening to this episodes. We know he always carries a lighter, after all.
