Before jumping to the next page of the Catradora comic, I wanted to do a quick Korrasami illustration for tomorrow. I did a similar drawing last year and wanted to do another one this year.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, aka Orange Shirt Day, in Canada. It’s a commemorative day dedicated to raising awareness of the atrocities committed to indigenous children by the Canadian Indian Residential School system.

The Water Tribes in Avatar are inspired by Inuit culture, and Inuit children and communities were greatly impacted by these schools. So, I thought Korra and Asami would probably want to show their support for the cause.

I'll be releasing this publicly tomorrow, but won't be making any prints or HD files available.

I love it! I miss korrasami! Thank you for making it and helping share awareness!

Happy to! And I miss them, too ❤️ I'm hoping the big Korrasami project I've been teasing will help fill the void a little 😉

You are the only reason I've been getting into Korra, and I love your artwork. Thank you for taking the time to remind us of this cause, as well. Too many people don't know anything about it. And among those who do, too many don't think about it nearly enough.

Thank you! That's really high praise and I'm glad my work got you interested in the character/fandom ❤️ And yeah, I figure not many people outside of Canada (and even within Canada) know or care about it, so I thought this would be a nice way to get the word out to a new audience!

Wonderful! I love when artists spread awareness with their work! Folks learn while also enjoying art!

Thanks! And same! It can be a great way to spread awareness to a new audience 😊
