I think we're meant to interpret the man falling as a planned stunt by slippin jimmy. That's why the guy said "took you long enough " instead of thank you and im fairly certain we see jimmy slip the guy some cash when he daps him up. Chucks problem with it being in the paper would signal to him that jimmy is back to his old ways..
