Maybe the biggest thing to happen in tv.

Fun Fact : This episode started TV Show reactions on youtube

Nitroxc

If you remember back to before robb executed lord karstark, he dropped a key bit of foreshadowing when talking to robb about how the war is going. He says "I believe you lost the war the minute you married her" Edit: sorry posted before id watched your reaction discussion where you discussed that lol But aye this is always a shocker episode first time round, I remember sitting there when it first aired, jaw wide open in disbelief thinking "wait surely the show got cancelled then? what other content is there to even pursue from here?" Edit: Also "the lannisters send their regards", you get a massive clue thats again hard to spot first time round, that immediately tells you "something bads about to happen and its involving the lannisters" - Rewatch just from after the bedding ceremony, the guard closes the door, the band starts playing the reigns of castamere and catelyn immediately has a look of complete terror on her face

Hollow

Phil throwing the headphones after this episode: we all felt that LOL And yeah, y'all completely missed after the doors closed and they started playing the "Rains of Castamere", which is THE Lannister song. Everyone knows it. Catelyn was immediately scared. Small differences: Talisa (Robb's wife) was named Jeyne Westerling and she wasn't from Volantis, was from a small noble family in Westeros. Robb was injured during battle and recuperated at her family's place. She ended up... "comforting" him. Because Robb deflowered her, a young noblewoman, he felt he had to marry her to protect her honor and his. Growing up with Jon Snow as his best friend, the last thing he would ever want to do is father a bastard. He also did leave her behind when they went to the Frey wedding, so she's still alive. Robb was his father's son in the end. He didn't play the game well, and tried to always do the honorable thing.

Side note: I'm still devastated Michelle Fairley (Catelyn) wasn't even nominated for an Emmy that year. She absolutely killed it.

the Westerlings werent just a small noble house, they’re from the Westerlands which are ruled by the Lannisters and one of their eldest bannerman. and the battle was a siege on their home and its heavily implied the marriage was conspired by her mother and uncle and her mother sent her to nurse his wounds so robb could lose the support of the freys and the westerlings only gave them 50 men

Hollow

Yes, all that. I just didn't want to overload them with too much info haha.

Also Walder Frey would not have done this without the support and insurance of the Lannisters, one of the few things worse than breaking a oath or treason is inviting people into your house and betraying them, that is so looked down on that even the Lannisters themselves wouldn't do it so Frey only did it because he had there support

U Can still cheer for joffrey. Ha ! 😆
