Here's our UNCUT reaction to ALWAYS SUNNY s13e10!

This episode was received mostly positively by critics, but there's definitely a segment of the Always Sunny fandom that dislikes it. They feel it's out of character and overly serious, but that's honestly what I like about it. They took a risk with trying something new, which they like to do from time to time, and I personally felt it really worked. Some behind the scenes stuff: Rob trained for four months with the ballerina and the choreographer. They were really impressed with his commitment and ideas. Rob's two brothers and his mother are gay as well. With Glenn stepping back this season, Rob wanted to focus on some character development for Mac, and after so many years of making jokes about Mac's sexuality and struggling to come to terms with it, he wanted to give it a serious moment. I take the dance to be him struggling with his religion. When you watch it a second time and listen to how Mac described it during the episode, you'll pick up on some more stuff where you can find things like Mac struggling with who he is, feeling rejected by God, then feeling embraced once more, and then being accepted and told it's ok, with Mac finding peace with who he is. I also really appreciated that the show didn't resort to Mac turning into some stereotypical gay character like they poke fun of in the beginning of the episode (though he does have his moments through the seasons, lol). They make clear that those are segments of the community, but Mac doesn't fit in with them and it's part of why he struggled.

I realise pretty much no one watches It's always Sunny for an episode like that, but I think it's something worth taking more seriously. I think they earned it after all these seasons. Definitely not my favorite episode at all, but I'm glad they made it and that it is a part of the show
