I think it comes back to what Snow said to the game maker - "Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous." At that point, they'd given so much hope in the promise that two could win together that if they then took that away, it would have caused more unrest. The Capitol couldn't just obliterate the Districts because then they have no perceived power. The only way to be "on top" is if you have someone to oppress. Fingers crossed that the f*cking orange man in charge of the US doesn't move forward with his "Patriot Games"... Not kidding. Look it up if you haven't heard. You're in Canada, right? Are you accepting refugees in your home? Asking for a friend... 👀

Thresh was killed by the mutts before they fought Cato. Also, there was only one crown because there’s only supposed to be one victor each game. Making two crowns would almost give hope to the future tributes that more than one person can win the hunger games. President Snow definitely wouldn’t have made that decision, or ordered another crown to be made for the ceremony.. he would’ve killed them both for sure. I think the purpose of the games besides keeping the districts “in line” is also to make sure the capitol remains blind and/or complicit.

Omg sooo excited you guys are finally watching this, I’ve been waiting 🥳🥳. I think when it comes to Katniss’ feelings for Peeta and Gale there’s the thought that she’s a 16 year old girl who’s basically been in survival mode since her father passed. She was actually quite young (11) when her dad died and without Peeta’s bread she wouldn’t have lived to remember her father taught her how to hunt (shown in book). And yeah poor Peeta is in deep lmaooo. I’m sure YouTube comments will explain plenty more but some random book stuff that isn’t really present: She’s called Foxface because in the book, which is only Katniss’ perspective, she doesn’t actually remember her name and just that she looks like a fox. Cato comes to the realization that his life was wasted trying to be a career which is just a cog in the machine. He’s also ripped apart alive for hours until Katniss can actually get a good shot :[. Those mutts in the end were actually engineered to look like all the dead tributes and Katniss notices they might have actually used the tributes real eyes as they look at exactly like them. There’s a small one she points out that looks just like Rue ;;. And lastly Peeta’s leg injury is so bad that he ends up with a prosthetic leg. Sorry for the yap I just love the books and movies so much! lol love the Mutt reference.
