Omg thank you for the thought of Johanna going into the death games and her stylist is still getting on her nerves 😭😭 Whew this movie I think is my favorite from the original 4. There’s so many amazing choices made in this film. The aspect ratio change was insane. The reason the other tributes were left was because they still had their trackers in. And honestly I’d say this movie is pretty close to the books from what I recall. I remember how gagged I was because the last line of the book is “There is no District 12”. Sunrise on the reaping came out last year and the movie comes out in November and I’m HYPED. The first prequel is someone we know already but I won’t say who just in case!

One of my favorite things that they changed from the book for the movie was the scene of Katniss training with the bow before the games. If you watch very closely, you’ll see that each of the holograms is essentially all of the other tributes in this Games. There’s a holo with a trident (Finnick), a spear (Brutus from 2), one with a sword, an ax (Joanna), AND one with a bow symbolizing herself. They all basically watch her take them out with ease. And you can see that thought register on some of their faces if you pause it, which is fun to do 😅 Katniss is very easily one of the most prepared tributes that has ever entered the arena. She can track animals, and therefore, humans. Her parents taught her a lot about plants for food/medicine, so she doesn’t rely on food provided like the Careers do. She can climb trees and find shelter or water. She can swim because her dad took her to a lake outside district boundaries (shown in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes). Most people in the districts never learned how to swim, aside from district 4 with fishing (aka Finnick’s). And then you add on the fact that she’s good with a weapon of some kind, she’s absolutely one of the most prepared tributes to ever enter the Games. And it really shows in this movie

Oh, and the canon you heard that you thought was Beetee.. that was Peeta killing Brutus, the big, muscular dude. He ran off trying to find Katniss when the wire was cut. Books cover that a bit more
