For me tommen is the worst king that we have seen in the show. Yes, no one can deny that joffrey was evil but tommen is supposed to be the king of the seven kingdoms and he cant even control the castle where he sleeps. The sparrows were interesting at some point but two whole seasons is really annoying when everyone has the resources to stop them. I get it, he is a kid but as a viewer it is a little irritating to watch. Joffrey was a character that is supposed to be hated so he served his purpose, with tommen you are supposed to feel bad for him but he is destroying the whole kingdom, it is hard for me to have sympathy for him.

I mostly agree with this, but he is sooo thrown under a buss by his mother. I just hate Cersei more because of all of it

IMO the lannisters would have thrived had Tommen and Joffery's personalities been switched around - Right after cersei seizes the throne after roberts death for Joffery, the personality of Tommen would have been perfect for them, a timid boy that does as hes told, appeases the small folk and doesn't mess things up. Ending the war fairly early with Sansa treated well, Ned kept alive and hostages returned in exchange for Jaime and peace. Then if for some reason the war continues, Joffery comes to die due to some other reason, then Tommen (with joffery's personality) takes over, and as cersei starts to arm the faith militant an they attempt to take over, he would have absolutely 0 hesitation marching an army in to massacre the sparrows. Possibly turning the smallfolk but being willing to enact essentially a police state to control the population for the time being.

That joke Tyrion told about bringing "a honeycomb and a jackass into a brothel" is the same one he started when he was brought before Lysa at the Eyrie. He didn't finish it then either haha
