When the Temple was destroyed the Jewish people were/and have been unable to offer sacrifices. So they kind of “made up a rule” in dealing with sin that doesn’t actually line up with their Hebrew Scriptures. I think their “good works” is what they are claiming rids them of their sins??? But again it is not from Scripture. Anything that keeps them from it being Jesus as the solution, unfortunately. 😢
