TAYLOR SWIFT - Ms. Americana..Part 1

Yep, next concert you watch is going to be in response to all this. Kanye lying about that phone call…somebody leaked the full call later, and it turned out Taylor was telling the truth the whole time (big surprise, right?). In fact, she specifically said, “I’m really relieved because I was worried you might call me a b*tch or something.” And what did the jerk do? Change the line to do exactly that! It was a setup, plain and simple. Also, in his music video for the song, he had a naked wax sculpture of Taylor sleeping in his bed. Realistic enough that some people thought it WAS her. Can you believe the audacity of that? And the violation she must have felt seeing basically fake nudes of herself on television. Just makes me so MAD. I’m not surprised you don’t know Kanye, but he’s a very popular singer. When Taylor was 19 and he cut off her speech, Beyonce (the one he supposedly supported) ended up backstage sobbing because she felt so bad for Taylor. She won best music video (Taylor won best FEMALE music video) and when she was brought up to give her speech, she let Taylor give the speech she couldn’t finish instead. So that was good, at least… Other things Kanye did: Taylor wrote him a VERY kind and forgiving song. Purposely let it be water under the bridge. At another awards show? He begged her for WEEKS to be the one to present his award, saying how much it would mean to him. She agreed. And then when he took the stage he made it seem like SHE asked HIM to present the award to get more publicity. She said the experience of hearing that while she was in the crowd with his wife gave her chills. And then after they dropped the edited phone call, that wife called her a snake and started the Taylor Swift is over party (which I was there for on twitter—absolutely disgusting). I mention this because those motifs and imagery—betrayal, narcissism, snakes, phone calls—all show up in the next concert. Which is why I wanted you to have context BEFORE watching it, y’know? The whole album is about, “You think I’m a snake? You ain’t seen nothin yet.” Taking all these insults and turning them into some awesome and badass. I hate what the media has turned into. Gossip rags and little more. Maybe it always was and I just hadn’t learned to do research of my own yet. I do an awful lot of research these days. My mom just watches the news and insists that there are laws about truth in television… Frustrating as heck. I’m a bit nervous about the description for the next video… I hope we won’t get into arguing about politics. I’m awful tired from my weeklong deep freeze. 🥶 Not that I’m particularly combative about anything. I don’t think it does anybody any good to get into shouting and such. Nobody learns anything from that. Oh, anyway, one last thing—you asked what was wrong with the album that she didn’t get nominated. Well, ultimately, *I* think it was because of all this nonsense going on with Kanye and Taylor getting ‘canceled’. Because Reputation is a phenomenal album. And I think she would’ve been within rights to say that! But instead she decided she would just make a better album. (I don’t know that you’ll care for Lover, the album she followed it with, but it’s my own favorite.) Okay, gotta take care of some stuff and then I’ll come back for part two.

Okay.. Thank You for all the info.. I am not going to argue about Politics by any means..LOL!! WQe all have differing views and that is all good to me.. but, I do think that we can discuss things rationally instead of trying to ram things down each others throats.. that kind of stuff never works.. Now, as far as Kanye goes, as I said, I wish I could have been a Bodyguard for Taylor at that time because I would have thrown him off the stage in a very physical manner..I Hate crap like he did.. and I am glad to know that the Reputation album is a good one... Rest Well My Friend..we will talk again after you get some rest and watch the other part..

Richard

Hi I have been going back to your older videos of Taylor and one thing is about your rant, I really agree with you. But one show is really positive is the Kelly Clarkson show. Do you know her? She won the first American idol in 2002 and has a long career to now. She is great. If you haven't heard of her maybe you can react to songs.
