Our Ancestors: The Baron in the Trees (1957) by Italo Calvinowith Matt Sini (@teo_ess) of The Getting Lit PodcastThis episode of Bistro Californium concerns the second novella in Calvino's Our Ancestors trilogy. Il barone rampante (of which the literal translation is "The Rampant Baron") was translated by into English by Archibald Colquhoun as The Baron in the Trees, and concerns the adventures of a boy who climbs a tree and never comes down. I'm joined by the ever-charming Matt Sini of Getting Lit and noted colleague of Hodological Calvino Studies.
