Dandadan was so wild, I'm so locked in The studio is Science Saru, they did Devilman Crybaby Ken Takakura is an actor and singer from the 60's and 70's he died in 2014. He was known as the Clint Eastwood of Japan. The line "I'm an awkward guy", was from a commercial he did for life insurance and ended up becoming a heavily quoted line, almost like a proto-meme

I've never heard of that studio before but I've definitely heard of devilman. I think I watched like an episode of it when it came out on Netflix years ago but didn't continue it for some reason. Can't remember why but maybe I didn't like the vibe of it. As for the takakura guy, does the girl in this anime refer to the real celebrity takakura who happens to be alive in this anime?

From my understanding yeah she is referring to the real actor, not sure when Dandadan is supposed to be set so no idea if he is alive but even if it's set in the early 2000's where they would still have cell phones he would still be really old like in his 80's so she probably just finds the young him from his old movies hot

This has what it takes to be one of the really special ones. science saru just needs to keep up this level

It's sooo refreshing 🙌 I just hope we don't have another Ninja Kamui incident but that most likely won't be the case since this has a manga

Yeah there’s a ton of great source material to go off of and everyone involved in the production is super experienced and knows what they’re doing. As long as the budget is there they’ll pull it off
