And so, we've hit the canon point of divergence between the Fate and Unlimited Blade Works routes. In this route, Rin uses her command spell to force Archer back into his spirit form, making the blow he takes from Saber not fatal (though he's still injured). In UBW, Shirou instead uses his command spell to stop Saber attacking, leaving Archer uninjured and Shirou down a command spell instead of Rin. From that single difference - which master has already used one of their command spells - how differently will this story unfold?

Actually, I should say Rin is down two command spells in the Fate route, because her using one to order Archer to obey all her orders happens before the routes diverge - we just didn't see it in this version because Deen skipped most of the prologue. We do see that it's the second stroke of her command spell that vanishes here, though, leaving her with only 1 left.

One thing I will say about the 2006 adaption is they get a lot closer to the VN Art style then the Ufotable adaptions do. So I get what you mean when you say it gives you a VN feel
