Imo its rare for me to have an anime better or even equal to the source material. Also the FSN VN is voice acted when a character speaks just not shirous monolouge or descriptive text. Sometimes I feel you underestimate how much youre missing out in the VN from the animes. To me I prefer ln>vn>manga>anime. I like more information of the story, characters or scene that anime doesnt sometimes provide and that greatly outweights voice acting and ost for me. If the story is good enough I can get the same amount of hype or emotion without those things. If the animations are good in the anime then I can just watch clips of scenes im interested in. For example Lb6 has no voice acting but the emotional scenes still hit like a truck.

Things 2006 gets right in my opinion, showing more of Shirou's inner monologue(only in comparison to UBW), Saber, one specific anime only scene, and the OST. But it drops the ball on everything else, the pacing, the anime original content that comes later, inserting things from other routes, as far as an adaption of the Fate route its not great imo. Mostly agree with him on UBW, it definitely has some tone issues, I do think its the strongest of the adaptions. Yeah Heavens Feel cuts almost all the illya content, Heavens Feel is like 60% Sakura 40% Illya in the VN, they also cut Illya's most memorable scene, Die Lorelei. Also being movies it still speed runs a lot of the events. So to your throughts on VN's, specifically for Fate/Stay Night, everything besides Shirou's inner monologue is voice acted, the there is OST, a lot of the same OST from the anime's as that's where they draw from, the only thing it lacks in comparison in animation, and it has more reading involved. So I love Naruto, but its not even in my top 50 thou, My Hero is in my top ten and is over the Fate Animes, but not over the VN if that makes sense. Fate/Stay Night is my #2 VN So I dont think the fights are bottom 20 things in Fate but there are some things in the VN that I appreciate more so here I'll do his job for him, here are some things the VN does amazingly besides the fight scenes, in no particular order, - The OST, - The Voice Acting Performances, - The OP (This Illusion, the OG version of Disillusion), - The character dynamics, - The themes - The written prose - The lore and world building, - The Alternative Endings - Tiger Dojo I used a guide/flowchart so I could find all the bad ends so I could experience everything I definitely think for you personally, reading it in your own time might be best

While I agree naruto is barely top 50, my hero being even anywhere in top 100 is wild let alone top 10

My personal top 10, it resonantes with me, I know it does not with a lot of people and I'm cool with that, out of the 800+ anime I've seen it's one that has made me feel in ways that other shows haven't, art is subjective, and everyone takes away something different from it

I think it prety simple do one stream of 1 or 2 hour to discorver fate stazy night and if you like it do it again

Honestly, I agree with all of what he's saying to varying degrees. As much as I love all of Fate/Stay Night's anime adaptations (well, okay, maybe not the Deen UBW movie...) none of them are perfect, even the Ufotable UBW anime which is the best both as an adaptation and in its own right. The VN is a true, true masterpiece and I do encourage every Fate fan to read it at some point to get the full experience. I think I have said before that I'm not sure how good it would be as reaction content, and I do stand by that, but even if you're just reading it on your own time and maybe posting an update every so often with your thoughts on a particular route or whatever, I'd definitely be interested to see what you think of it. Like, a review format rather than a reaction format. (I've also said before that if you did want to try doing VN content as a reaction format, Mahoyo would be a good one to try first as it's shorter and structured in a good way for it, and I also stand by that)

I'm going to be honest i don't know who told you to watch the 2006 anime but whoever said it was good place to start is cooked lol.

Ooo that's the total opposite of me but I respect that cuz if you enjoy reading the most then not only do you get extra content to enjoy but also deeper knowledge of things such as characters 👌🏼

Wait you've watched 800+ anime?! Holy shit I feel like I've watched absolutely nothing then 💀

Been watching for about 16 years so it's not something that happened over night, I think I'm almost at 900

ost is good but the actual anime is pretty bad tbh. even for 2006 the animation wasn't good and got memed on pretty hard, and while adaptation isn't as horrendous as the tsukihime anime (which doesn't exist) it's still not great. it does an okay job at getting the tone right and delivers on the ending well but fumbles alot with everything else. they jump the shark and add stuff from the other route's in the worst way possible, and then anime original content that no one at type-moon approved of. type-moon even leaves out the deen adaptions from their own official material for fate/ anime lol. but yeah kenji kawai did a fantastic job on the anime renditions of the VN ost, and honestly the most memorable thing about the anime tbh.

He's ESPECIALLY cooking when it comes to the "100 hours" excuse. For example an average playthrough of the Saber route in Stay Night takes anywhere between 9-12 hours at most. That's like the length equivalent to how long it takes to beat Sonic Unleashed. Even longest route Heaven's Feel can cap at about 20ish hours. You could finish the Chunin Exams in that same time. Visual novels don't expect you to sit through the entire thing in one sitting which is why you can save at quite literally any point during the game if you want to take a break or feel like a big choice is coming up.

Yea I really liked that point cuz it put things into perspective. Definitely the best selling point for me

Chaolao

Fate/Stay Night 2006 Deen was adaptations or trying to mass up all three of the routes into one. Which for the fans a huge disservice to the Saber route.
