I picked up a Zoom H5studio Field Recorder this week and in testing it, I realized the stereo mic that it has is incredibly sensitive! So I figured I'd give it a try recording some stereo whispering. It works, incredibly well. I really suggest you listen with headphones.

In testing it though, I'm realizing it's INCREDIBLY sensitive to handling noise, so while I was recording I was holding it in my hands, and I was in a noisy environment (my bedroom isn't sound treated like my recording closet is) so I'm going to have to invest in either a shock mounted grip or a tripod or something to record with it. That being said, I still think it picked up all the whispering and mouth noises really well, and with a little processing (I EQed a lot of the low-end rumble out of it, and used a dynamic EQ to reduce the handling noise) it came out better than I expected for a simple test.

So, you into whisper audios at all? Should I try some?

Obviously I'll be using this to record ambiences and foley and other SFX, but this is an unexpected application!
