Welcome back! I only just found you and you uploaded just as I finished the Shameless commentaries so good timing for me! I can't wait for some of your reactions to this season, it's right up there as one of my favourites. There are a few particular scenes I know you're really going to enjoy :) I just wanted to explain the Fiona and club thing. So Fiona's not paying to have a job at the club. It's sort like an venue hire fee that she's paying because she's being allowed to promote a 'night' at the club. She's essentially running an event to hopefully kick off like a party business where she uses an existing venue (this club) for a fee, their staff and their amenities and she will pocket a percentage of the profits from the entry fees/tickets that people pay to attend and drinks sold on the night. I hope I'm explaining it right, I might have a few particulars wrong but that's the gist of it. She's not getting a job, just the opportunity to maybe build a business. That's why the club manager was reluctant to take the money because it was a bluff on her part to make Fiona go away; she thought Fiona would relent when she realised she wasn't going to get a full-time management job, and she didn't expect Fiona to pay the money and take the risk because there is a huge chance of losing money on something like this, especially when you've never done it before because you don't have connections or clients or anything to make the event profitable. It's a massive risk for Fiona and the family's finances. Hope that sort of explains it a bit.
