If I were going to identify the genre of Not Me, it would be to call it a political action thriller that is also a BL. The political aspect is very important, and you might want to go back and rewatch that scene where they’re discussing politics in the classroom, because that information ends up being pretty important. One thing I like about at least the first few episodes of this show is that we’re seeing it pretty much from White’s viewpoint, so that we only really know as much as he knows. Almost all of the questions you’re asking eventually get answered, because they’re questions that White also has. One good rule of thumb is not to assume anything unless it’s been absolutely established, because there are lots of surprises along the way. I only watched this series pretty recently, and I already was familiar with all but one of the major actors in the show, and I have to say this is among the best work all of them have done. Of the Thai BL shows I have watched all the way through so far, Not Me is in my top five.
