Osh'to has an itch to scratch, and all she needs is a campfire and a certain elf. This update features four new repeatable animated scenes with our ogress, which can be triggered in the wilderness using camping supplies or while resting at an inn. The first time only triggers at the camp. Load the save named "Build_38" to experience the scenes directly.

We also animated the sprites of Nathan (the innkeeper), Esther (the brothel owner), and admiral Gracer, who will no longer be sliding around. And we are working on various ambient SFX, the most noticeable new one being Kaldea's crowd sounds.

Our next update will be the Gold & Sand demo, so stay tuned for that!

Please report any issue you find, even typos, in the comments here or in our discord bug tracker channel, or with the new in-game bug report system (bottom left of the main menu)!

The code isn't working for some reason

Make sure you have build 38. The version is bottom left of the main menu.

Can you play this game on mobile? I just found this game & put in 5 for the whole game.

Charles

Is it worth it to download this particular build if I already have the publicly available build38. I have no idea if there is any actual difference.

Price for Freedom

No, they are the exact same, all you need is to unlock the game. This separate post is mostly here to give the Patreon cheat code

Charles

Hey so I think I encountered a bug. At the end of the quest scales of justice the cinematic fails to load. I think it is Hiho's first scene, on the free version of the game it loaded fine. When I upgraded to the full game I decided to start over and when I got to that part it doesn't trigger the new scenes. I am not sure what it could be because when I decided to get the full version of the game I cleaned out both the save directory and the registry key. In addition to that I started the game from a fresh install of the version linked here.

Price for Freedom

In the Patreon build hiho scene happens at a later time. Continue her quest line and you should get it

Charles

Awesome, thanks! Also, when I upgraded to the full version it dumped a bunch of what looks like old saves into the save directory. I am assuming I should keep those there and not delete them. Sorry for all the questions, I am sure a lot of these have already been answered, but I have no idea where.

Price for Freedom

They are included in the game for people who want to play the quest of a specific build, but you can ignore them entirely

I noticed some scenes seem to happen a bit out of order. It ranges from mostly harmless, to what seems like it could be bad for saves. First ill give an example of mostly harmless. With Iski, her quest starts off way too soon. After you arrive at Nathans inn you can run into her immediately if you head towards the brothel in that merchant area. That then triggers a scene with her on the next rest. The problem is that after that scene, if you have samara in your party, there is a fun interaction between the characters. With the way the quest is structured that presumably could be missed if you happen to rest before recruiting her into your party. The writing for that scene also is written like you already have multiple party members. So it might be worth having the rest scene delayed until a part in the story where it feels more appropriate. Not a huge deal and I can see an argument for allowing that scene to happen whenever, but the writing does get a bit out of sorts if you run into her too soon. And the writing in this game really is a lot of fun. This second example is of something that feels like it might cause scenes that should happen to not happen. In, I think its called the the velvet oasis, the scenes on the second floor seem to be conflicting. For example, the first time you go to the second floor can trigger the pole dance scene. The writing in that scene automatically assumes that you have already met the girls up there. Additionally if you do the scene with Nailah it normally should load into a conversation with her after. However, it seems that the her pole dance scene has a high chance of being active when it loads back in. This causes that conversation to not trigger. It is possible that leaving the second floor and returning might cause the next interaction with Nailah to contain that dialogue, but it would feel a bit out of place at that time. I personally just reloaded until the pole dance scene didn't trigger, there appears to be some randomness there. So I wouldn't personally know how things play out if you just roll with it. Keep up the awesome work on the game, the setting is really quite charming! Also, it may just be me, but the Gold & Sand demo seems to have higher resolution textures to it or something. It really looks quite nice and it would be awesome to see that come to avarice at some point.

Thanks for the feedbacks, we definitely need to improve the pacing of the scenes and quests in general.

I mean it is kind of expected with a game in active development, sometimes things get weird between builds. I just wanted to share this because I have found it is one of the only things really detracting from the experience. Otherwise it is really an excellent game. I would greatly apreciate it if you could answer a few questions. I think I might revert to the free version to see how the structure was supposed to be. Then I would flip back to the paid version and ignore those inconsitencies. Will backing up then removing the registry and save folder be sufficient for that? I figure I could pretty much run a locked and unlocked version in parallel and swap over when something seems off. Will some of the out of order quests mess with any side stories or quest states? For example currently the Terri questline is bugged. It jumps from the first time meeting her to her asking you to do a quest with a dude in a red shirt. The contex clues from the dialoge make it pretty obvious that something was supposed to happen before that. Will instances like that break questlines, or if I did the first part in the free version then flipped over to the paied would that resolve the issue. I just dont really know if there are a lot of flags for quests and stuff that would get messed up from stuff being out of order. Also is there some restructuring with quests going on right now? I didn't notice these issues in the free build, but I have encountered 4 of them thus far in the paid version. Is there a slightly older version that I could revert to that would give me more of the content than the current free version and not have the bugs with the order things are happening? Finally is this a known issue or is this a me specific issue? I keep thinking that there must be something messed up with my install causing the issues. Are these issues fairly well reported, or should I look at my install and see if anything is messed up. If they are well reported, is the next release going to adress them? It seems like it has been a longer than normal between releases and I figure a new one is probably somewhat close. So if it is I might shelve this game until the new release drops and then go through it. I would really like to experience the writing the intended way on my first playthrough. Games that are in active development are going to have bugs and I understand that. But I would really appreciate if you could help me work around them by answering those questions.

Yes to revert to the public build you need to delete the registry key, but removing the saves folder might not be needed. There shouldn't be that much difference between the public and patreon versions, beside quests being disabled in the public one. Could you send bug reports when you encounter one of these issues (bottom left of the main menu). It sends your logs and saves so the cause is easier to track. I'll check them.

Charles

Yeah I can absolutely do that. I will need to go back and recreate the bugs so I will give you a heads up on here when I get the chance to do so. These bugs can be kind of sneaky to track down. A lot of them are a bit of a random chance on if a later scene decides to load before the correct one. I might get a bit of time to do that today, but we will see if that works out! Also where is the best place to provide feedback, I have some feedback on Terri's questline that doesn't fall into the bug category.

Charles

Thanks, I managed to get those bug reports sent in. Just be aware that most of them come in two parts. I wanted to provide one right before the bug and one during the bug so that you have an easier time tracing it if replication failed. Unfortunately the interface only allows 1 save file so I had to do two reports per bug in most cases. Also I added my feedback about Terri's quest on the discord.
