As we continue to expand the Discord, we've been thinking of ways to keep the information therein clear and easily navigable.

We've been considering making individualize channels and categories for regions of the Realms (e.g., The Sword Coast, Western Heartlands, Underdark, etc.). Is this something you would like to see implemented, or would you prefer we keep the categories general and use the #realmslore channel to be the central water cooler for our discussions?

If you would love to see more categories and channels, please comment with your best ideas and what you'd like to see most! If you would like to keep things 'simple,' let us know why so we can make a more informed decision. Thank you!

I love polls...

Region-specific channels sound very helpful to me. I hope that each channel can maintain an inviting and friendly vibe so new members feel welcome and are encouraged to engage and ask questions, and we avoid one or two “lore heavyweights” lording over a given channel in such a way that some topics are avoided.

The results of this poll have been wonderful! So far the community seems to be leaning in one distinct direction. We will leave this poll running for another day or so, so everyone gets a chance to make their voice heard, but as soon we're satisfied that we're not neglecting anyone's opinion we'll take the relevant action in the Discord server. Thank you again for all of your input, and please don't forget to give us your opinions on what specific regions you'd like accounted for in the Discord!

I've been a Forgotten Realms fan since the original box set came out for it, but I haven’t run a campaign in it since Pathfinder came out. I will never know more Golarian Lore than Realms Lore, even if I never read a 5E book. This does mean that I am very out-of-date on Realms goings on. However the regional divisions go, I would appreciate calendar years always be used.

I' been creating my games in the Realms as 1987 AD, so where to go? We explored the heartland, the Vast, Damara, the dragon reach, the sword coast. I would love to learn more of the sea of the fallen star 🥓😁

For me it would depend entirely on the channel size. If its still growing then it helps to consolidate into fewer channels. But then if its gotten large, having more channels helps people pick their favorite sections. So in addition to looking at this poll's outcome: come back to the question of how to layout the discord every so often.

I will get there in lore coverage when I can. There are 50 lore posts in the hopper for the Patreon, but as questions in the Discord and let us know there and here about topics you like me to chat about with Ivan, and lore will come your way faster.
