July: Development Sneak Peek (Patreon)
Content
Hello, everyone!
To start, let's get into the writing section.
#1 Writing
Vincent pushes Fadiya away from him with unexpected force, causing her to stumble and collide with you. The impact catches you off guard, sending you stumbling backward, your arms flailing as you attempt to regain your balance. With a resounding splash, you plunge into the cool, crystalline waters of the lake.
As you sink deeper into the water, the sounds of muffled voices and splashing echo around you. The sunlight above shimmers and dances playfully on the water’s surface, but it now feels distant and unreachable. The liquid embrace of the water envelops you, its gentle coolness caressing your skin, as if offering comfort and solace.
• Fight to the surface.
• Surrender to the embrace.
This wasn't originally in the plans for this short story but I was debating on how to make Vincent less of the heartthrob he is right now 😂 I thought maybe he could push MC himself in a fit of stupidity but I couldn't really see that for him so I settled to him being the cause but not directly, if that makes sense.
I think it's easy for players to forget and forgive how terrible he was to MC in the past especially after the contents of chapter 2 so I thought this was needed. With this little snippet he doesn't seem all that bad but I think one of his issues is pride so he isn't apologizing about this event in this short story even though he said things that were honestly mean and caused MC to fall into the lake.
The second choice is interesting to me because the characters that are present in this scene might realize how little MC cares for themselves which is kind of sad since MC in this is around ~11 years old. Bodies of water have always been comforting to me so I threw that into MC in this moment.
Now that this one is done, I can start on another but I'm still going back and forth on which one to do next.
Let's get into art, yay!
#2 Art
As everyone knows, if you have read my weekly updates that is, I have commissioned the first character portrait to include in the game! I'm honestly over the moon that I'm able to do this now and I couldn't have done it without your support. 💗
I don't want to reveal who the artist is right now but trust me their art is gorgeous. I seriously can't wait to see my characters in their style.
Let's go into costs and such which is boring but I feel like it's needed to understand where the money goes to.
So that is how much I roughly earn each month but it fluctuates a lot so it can be less or more.
I can only commission once per month so all of them should be done by January of next year. It's a long time, I know, but hopefully I will get to a point where I can commission more often.
With that being said and done, I was going to speak a lot on the UI of the game but I will make it short and simple.
#3 User Interface of the game
This is something really boring I drew up and it's so silly but this is what I have in mind and bear in mind I'm not an artist. 😭 Excuse my handwriting.
So the menu will be turned into a pop up menu and then you will be able to click on the characters section and then the eyes part of the portrait will be shown, kind of like the art I will be inserting below which is the whole inspiration for me.
I thought it was cute and I like the idea of the art for this book being more light-hearted. I'm not sure if that's the word I'm looking for but I didn't want it to be too dark yet.
I'm also working on custom icons for the game which is fun as well.
I think that's all for this month, if I forgot anything I'll just live with it. Thank you for being here and if you read all of this then thank you once again. It's so amazing that I can share all of this with you guys and I probably sound like a broken record but wow, you know?
I hope everyone has a great week ahead of themselves. 💗
