We lost him way too soon. It was the Kentucky Derby. They place a blanket of Roses on the winning horse, so it is nicknamed the run for the roses. I always loved that he kept that nod to his father in almost every song he ever did with all the solo band instuments, the Saxes, trumpets, flutes and such. He did do a variety of styles, but was known for his love songs. My favorite album of his was Twin Sons of Different Mothers. Thanks for the blast from my teen years.

Hearing Dan Fogelberg’s voice again just makes me happy. He always had a Who’s Who of musicians on his albums. On the album Souvenirs alone he had lots of friends on guitar, bass, percussion and backup singers. Some of the friends were from The Eagles: Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Randy Meisner. And also Graham Nash (from The Hollies and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) and Gerry Beckley (from America).
