A Latin Reader by William and Joseph Allen, published in 1869, is one of the best resources for students transitioning from the beginner reading stage of simple stories into real Latin literature by means of one of the most comprehensive anthologies for the intermediate level.

Authors selected for this florilegium include Phaedrus' Latin verse translations of Aesop's Fables, entertaining scenes from Caesar's Gallic Wars, Nepos' Life of Hannibal, Sallust's Jugurthine War, Ovid's Metamorphoses, Virgil's Eclogues, Plautus, Cicero, Terence, and Tacitus.

This series is intended for Tribūnī Tier Patrons and higher.

The PDF is attached, and may be found on Archive here: https://archive.org/details/allen-william-allen-joseph-a-latin-reader-1859 — while macrons are not written, they are pronounced clearly in the audio. I encourage you to use this as an opportunity to write the macrons in the text (printed out or digitally) while listening, and learn the macrons in this way (this is how I learned where the long vowels go, by macronizing my own books, confirming the vowel lengths in Wiktionary).
