Latin in Action is the twin series of Ancient Greek in Action. My long-term goal is to make a hundred videos like this in both languages, to give everyone in the world the opportunity to acquire both Latin and Ancient Greek.

Latin in Action! ep.1 | Throwing, Running, Climbing, Descending

Learn Latin through Comprehensible Input! Latin in Action (the sister series to Ancient Greek in Action) teaches you the language entirely through the medium of Latin, an approach called Comprehensible Input. By watching every video in this series in order, you should be able to understand everything after watching a video two or three times. In this way, you will build a strong foundation in LATIN. ("Latin" as a term encompasses the grammar and vocabulary of both Classical Latin and Ecclesiastical Latin.) 🏛️ 🐢 LATIN IN ACTION 🦉 by Luke Amadeus Ranieri 🦂 L. Amādeus Rāniērius In this video, the only words you need to acquire are the future, present, and simple-past of the verbs of throwing, running, going up, and going down, which are printed on the screen. Other words are uttered in the video which are not essential to acquire at this time; merely concern yourself with learning by heart the forms "I will throw, I throw, I threw," etc. Once you have seen this video enough times, repeat these verbs from memory every time you throw something, run, or climb or descend stairs. Find opportunities to use these verbs, joining your utterances to physical actions that will ingrain them into long-term memory. The full script, while unnecessary for the scope of this video as a Comprehensible Input tool, is available for my Patreon supporters: (coming soon!) The pronunciation you hear is that of Classical Latin, a literary period from the 1st century BC to the 2nd century AD. My dream is for there to be a hundred videos in both series, giving people with no experience in either language the opportunity to achieve basic fluency in both. I really like how you introduce different verb forms together, I've been learning Latin through comprehensible input for quite a long time now and getting an instinctive understanding of different verb forms has really been a challenge and I think it's because of how they always seem to get taught in isolation, even in comprehensible input books, when having them together like this really makes my brain absorb the different forms and what they mean.

Right! That’s been my experience too. When I started speaking Ancient Greek I could never remember the future. My hope is that these videos will do a lot to prevent those kinds of imbalances in our internal grammar of the languages.

Excellent vid. Loved the owl, which incidentally, is a symbol of wisdom, insight and knowledge. Well thought out.

Gratias! Si aliam linguam nos doces et iterum saxa iacis, brevi tempore rivum implebis! 😂
