By the time you read this I will be in a jet airplane somewhere over the midwest, fulfilling my date with destiny...or, at least, Pittsburgh. The high is forecast at 1°F, and the low at -1°F, so I've purposely not been wearing my thick socks until I get there. I originally planned a big tour of all the Polish and Italian delicacies, but now I'm thinking I'll sit in the hotel room with the thick socks until Lauren's work conference is over, and then we'll fly home. I have a bag of peanuts, and a bag of raisins, and if I mix them just right I'll think I'm on a sunswept trail in Sedona.

Say… under what seat you get those nuts n’ raisins?

How many people begging you to make the shirt will it take for you to succumb to market forces though because you know it is coming Not from me!

Bruce Wright

Search the lobby, maybe you can turn up a stale muffin

Achewood

I can’t sell a shirt with iPhone emojis or Apple will rappel down my chimney with the IRS

Julie (HiDeeHoGal)

It's pizza time! Followed by Pat's SCOBY sour gummies for that post binge compensation.

Achewood

I also went to a local bar for pierogi and they were having grease trap problems and that will be its own travel entry

'Spongebob Meatpants' is probably the most "my thoughts ca. 2006" thing to have ever not come from my own brain.

Achewood

There’s just a guy there and he doesn’t want to help

Shawn Clark

I don’t know, fuck is pretty old*, so I have my doubts, Schmo Bogan. * I did my own research.

I was supposed to go visit my brother in that very city this weekend and ended up canceling because it was hard to think of what kind of activities we would be able to do apart from watch Netflix at each other. More work conferences should take this into account.

Achewood

There is nothing to do. You were wise. Ubers are like $30/mile right now

Achewood

Be careful you are in danger of getting invited on to discuss Israel-Palestine, nuclear energy, and cold plunge.

Sedric and Charlie

I'm not sure if Pat's crying office represents progress or regress from renting three adjacent hotel rooms out of town just to JO

Anthracite Abn'r will be the coal fired fuel for the furnace from whence we rebirth education, democracy, and men's podcast formats.

Death Pizza is the funniest title but not the Nice-Pete-iest.

Zen Window

I have fondnesses for the city of Philadelphia and the people of Pittsburgh, but a healthy aversion to anything between the two.

WET SHOTS, MY ROUND, WHO'S IN?

Achewood

Welcome to the self-service model Hotel Dystopía

And we never even saw if the JO was to completion Should tier 4 be the characters doing JO to completion y/n ($500/month)

The revamped Quadrivium will definitely feature drawknives and froes

It’s not nearly Authory enough to satisfy his idea of what Authors are like

Achewood

I just picture one black stagecoach on a five hundred mile road

FactWino

Would we get art or just text descriptions?

C C

Man I can smell a bad grease trap from a mile away (not actually true, but probably from just outside the back door), nothing will put a fart in your feed bag like that.

C C

This came just in time. The unrelenting cold, overcast grey skies, the bitter cold grey lands and grey barren leafless trees push my natural tendency toward depression and anxiety to the 'bitter' side of the gauge. Normally I will hole up and remove myself from communicating with anyone, including myself, while watching endless youtube videos of terrible crimes and natural disasters for six or eight weeks or until my wife forces me to go outside and see a daffodil or something. But this episode of the The Philippe Times hit me like a sunny Sunday morning and reminds me of something I don't think about often enough. Philippe is five!

Gonna need a clean .svg file of that Six Hundo logo for… reasons

Also and plus, Onstad, if this is your first time in Pittsburg, you pretty much have to get a Primanti's Bros sandwich with all the fries and coleslaw and shit rolled up in there. And get one of those chipped ham bbq sandwiches made with Isaly's ham. At least that's what I would be having for lunch, I'm a sucker for a sandwich with a story.

Achewood

Because of the storm it’s $30 each way to the nearest Primanti. There’s one at the airport, but I’m guessing that like most airport locations, all the life got sucked out of the food by the metal detector

Achewood

Now that’s what I’m talking about, people. Momentary diversions peddled here. Very happy my goofy sideline lifted that slice.

Achewood

Also so how hard did you connect with the strip where beef imagines a rally car barreling at him when he opens the front door

C C

Any iteration of a food at an airport is almost certainly a minor abomination at best.

Sedric and Charlie

Finally, the chance to find out how Steven (the waiter who was really strong but too nice to ever get ahead in life) busts a nut

Achewood

He actually says a lot of mean stuff when he’s waxing the trombone

Sedric and Charlie

Good that all those years auditioning voice talent for shelved animated adaptations won't be going to waste

C C

I think I understand Beef's vision of that rally car, I have often thought about the odds of an airline disaster happening right on top of our car as we wend our way through the neighborhood. We don't live anywhere near an airport, but it has to happen somewhere...

Achewood

Yeah man! And SINKHOLES. Terrible

"Trigonometry of Bedlam" sounds like the hotly anticipated sophomore album from Egyptian Math Rock darlings Harmwroth.
