Hey fellas.

A couple hours back, I showed you all a demo of what the gallery will look like, and how it will function. Attached is said footage, along with an early design mockup. Please be aware that the footage you saw, while indicative of what will eventually release, is still a product of something in development.

If you have any specific questions, ask them in the replies.

What's gonna change?

The gallery will be a self hosted website with its own URL. You ever subbed to Koelet3D? That system.

Let's get down to brass tax. I intend for everything that is in the Google Drive is to be in the gallery. That's the goal. As such, as soon as everything is transferred over, the Google Drive archive will be permanently deleted. As it will be maintained and I no longer to wish to pay the subscription price of Google One (I don't want your fucking AI!), it will not last very long after everything is transferred over. I'll probably put the link on F95 as a joke, but aside from that, it will be gone.

How does the gallery work?

It kind of explains itself. Everything is laid out, well, like a gallery. Everything is sorted by year and month, and you can access what your tier allows you. If not, it is blurred out and inaccessible, but you should be able to access what your tier includes with relatively little to no hassle at all. Have you ever had to link accounts on something? Authenticate something? Its that. One button, and you are in.

Are you optimizing the site for mobile, not just PC?

We're optimizing it for PC primarily, but we are also working on making it comfortable to use for mobile as well, so don't worry about that. It is best experienced on PC, though.

How are Blender files going to be distributed?

Admittedly, that is something we are still figuring out. The most likely solution right now is Dropbox, but we (me and my mate, that is) are working on a solution that is easy to understand and easy to use. Hosting files with multiple gigs on them isn't free, nor cheap.

Is my subscription changing?

No. Benefits are staying the same, and the prices are also not being increased. I love money, but I feel like I'm quite ballsy already. I wish I could put everything on $2 tier, but I cannot afford to cut such a deal despite how much I want to.

What do you plan to host it on?

We are currently eyeing Cloudflare.
