I thought the tattoos would be irrelevant after the escape, it never crossed my mine to also include the details & tools you would need to get away once you got out. I guess that means I would not be the guy to plan a prison escape. I like the idea of Mahone being on Michal's level too & picking up on that tattoos, otherwise the group would always be 5 steps ahead & that would make it too easy & boring to watch. Veronica dying was a shock to me as well. I'm not sure if it was a creative choice or if Robin Tunney couldn't commit to another season. For Terrance Steadman, they recast because John Billingsly was unavailable. As for the timeframe, I do think it was fudged a little. The escape plan began at 7 PM when they had their open cell time & I think Michael said they had 30 minutes to get over the wall. While I'm sure not 30 exactly, let's say they got over the wall at 7:30. Being generous & guessing they were on the run for another 30-60 minutes they got to the airfield possibly between 8-8:30 PM, but I would guess no later then 9 (I forgot the time Abruzzi said to be there if he said an exact time on screen) Season starts in bright daylight, well after sunrise time with many people on the streets, so I would guess between 7-8 A.M. which means from the airfield to the start of season 2, they ran for possibly 10-12 hours with the guards fairly close behind them at both the end & start of the seasons. With that amount of time, they probably either would've been apprehended earlier, found a safe place to hide to make distance, or gained that distance without hiding, so I would guess it was just a creative choice to fudge the time & skip to daylight. I analyzed that probably way too much.

I was shocked by Veronica dying also, I can’t imagine it was just for storyline. I believe the actress just wasn’t available for another season. I feel so bad for Sarah, and Michael does seem to regret using her. What Sarah did may even qualify for jail time herself, but like mentioned, she thought it was just the brothers, didn’t know others got out with him. And yes, Michaels got a smart guy after him, maybe even almost even an equal to how he plans or thinks.

yes, robin began filming for "the mentalist" after leaving the show (and her character there was far more entertaining)
