Sadly enough i am pretty sure that at the time this episode aired it was easier to get an abortion in the USA than it is now... Naomi's reaction, especially as a doctor has always pissed me off, and continues to do. As a doctor she should focus on what the patient needs, which can be an abortion, rather than using her own believes to influence the care she gives.

Yeah they give Violet the most interesting storylines. I think just because she’s a therapist she can interact with a wider variety of patients than like Addison as an OBGYN for example. I really hate Naomi with this one. I love how Addison handled it but Naomi really annoys me. At the end of the day Abortion is part of reproductive healthcare so it makes perfect sense for it to be in this practice imo. Sometimes an abortion is necessary even if it’s not what the woman would choose ordinarily, if there’s a medical issue or something that threatens the life of the woman so I disagree with Naomi that it’s not part of a fertility clinic. Yeah I really appreciate the way this show tackles controversial and heavy topics, actually talks about them and is willing to risk people disliking characters because of their views. You can definitely tell that the showrunners are pro choice with the way it fell imo, but I’m glad they made it a discussion like this and actually explored the topic like they did. The guy with the girlfriend who’s in a coma really annoys me. He really did treat her as an incubator. I understand that he was hoping that having the baby would miraculously make her come back to life but it shouldn’t have been allowed to go on for 8 months like that imo. Her parents should have been called earlier to make that decision to not keep her in that state. Really good episode. And the Violet murderer storyline didn’t even end up being the best storyline in my opinion. 3 really good storylines in this one but the abortion story was the most engaging to me.

I can't imagine that Naomi has never had a situation where one of her patients needed an abortion, even if a women wants to get pregnant and Naomi helps with that there is still a chance that the fetus has a medical issue or that carrying the pregnancy would be very dangerous to the mother. And you can't always know theses things before the women is pregnant. Even after needing a fertility specialists help and clearly very much wanting a baby a women still might opt for an abortion in these cases.
