I'm sorry I really just can't with Richard. He's a grown ass man and the literal chief of the hospital, and he's acting like an immature child. I understand that he was Miranda's mentor and taught her everything she knows about General surgery, but he doesn't have a claim over her and he has no right to act jealous or treat her like she did something wrong. She's working in peds, which is more specialized, and it could potentially lead to something even bigger for her, like a fellowship. As her teacher who's been there from the beginning, he should be PROUD of her, and encouraging it! And the fact that he had to be tattled on to his own wife? I would be embarrassed if I were him. Arizona is a great character, and especially a great addition as an attending. I get really frustrated sometimes when certain attendings yell at the interns or residents or just don't listen to them and call them stupid, but then won't apologize if they're proven wrong. Arizona is really positive and encouraging in general, but she also uses caution when necessary. She was worried about something going wrong; she calmly explained the risks to Alex and made sure they were prepared for them, and when Alex turned out to be right, she was happy for him and praised his good medical work. I found it very refreshing. Yeah, my face looked exactly like your face the first time I watched this episode, and I heard "Survival rate is 5%", definitely a big punch to the gut moment. Lexie's little monologue to her is also one of my favorite moments because it really puts things in perspective, and it always makes me tear up a bit. It's crazy the simple things we take for granted every day. Since Izzie went to Christina, it seems like Lexie's words might've encouraged Izzie to fight, which I hope is the case because even though she has her flaws, I have a huge soft spot for her, and with that terrible prognosis, it would be just as easy for her to give up. As much as I wanna hate Derek in this moment because he's not really one of my favorite characters, I think this is one of the few times that there's genuinely a reason to be concerned about him. He's been deeply affected by what happened with this patient, and he definitely seems very depressed and potentially self-destructive, which is never a good combo, so I just hope he's able to be helped. On a much happier note, I love how sweet Mark and Lexie are together, and I find it adorable that he calls her "little grey". I'm also glad to see something might actually happen between Callie and Arizona; they already seem to have good chemistry, and I like that they're kind of giving black cat and golden retriever vibes. And similarly, I love that Arizona calls her Calliope.

About the Mark and Lexie's thing, It's all about timing, Derek forgave Mark in the past but he did not forget. So it just comes out in an angry rage, Mark slept with Derek's wife, his sister and now his future sister-in-law. Companies frown upon colleagues dating or have any form of relations, if so HR ( Human Resources) will be called upon. Calliope Burns was a character from "First Kill" tv series you were probably trying to remember. Arizona was right about not wanting to date Callie cause, no one really wants to date a virgin but thanks to Alex, with his less years as a doctor can teach even the most years under the belt doctor something new. If Callie was not a virgin she would've been hooking up with the intern Dr. Sadie Harris (Meredith long time friend).

5x16 Wow, very sad episode. We had a Doctor that was the Cristina of her era, now too old to do surgery anymore. A woman dies from an error made by Derek. The scene of her husband crying, OMG. That was great acting. I really felt his loss. Derek going too far in the OR trying to save the woman but ended up removing 90% of her brain. Mark tells Derek about him and Lexi at WORST possible moment. Derek punches him and they end up in a fist fight. The Chief reveals he intended for Bailey to eventually take over as Chief but she doesn’t want it, she wants to be a Pediatric doctor. And Finally, Izzy finds out the woman she told had deadly cancer, didn’t have it. She had the anemia that Izzy was diagnosed with. The misdiagnose was due to a mix up of blood samples with Izzy’s blood. Izzy finds a suspicious mole on back and gets it biopsied. I didn’t like the look on the nurses face when she was bringing back the results of the biopsy. 5x17 Interesting episode. Derek still in the dark side. Not coping well with his mistake with the pregnant woman. Now he lost his mom’s wedding ring, so there’s that. Karev actually did good and said some very awesome stuff to Izzy. How un Karev of him. Yes, the Chief was being a baby. Hilarious that she tattled on him to his wife, but it worked so, good job Bailey. Wow, so Izzy is dying of cancer with only a 5% survival rate. Well, that’s not good.

I love Bailey calling in Richard’s wife. God he’s being such an ass though. I really think that was the only way to reach him. I know Cristina is on board and telling him it’s ok and everything but Owen really needs to get himself some therapy or something. Cristina doesn’t deserve to put up with him being like that even if she’s ok putting up with it. I think it’s cute that Cristina was so open to hearing Izzie’s news and didn’t dismiss it or anything. Maybe she’s not as much of a robot as Izzie thinks she is.
