2026-09-19 16:00 Hello Shan, Praise him. What would be in your room? David Walliams (The funny mole man) was asked to guest-star in this episode in an email and he immediately said yes because he’s a fan of the show. Matt Smith called David Walliams "hilarious" and found it hard to take him seriously, because when he was in his prosthetics makeup he resembled a giant mole. David Walliams' prosthetics took about two hours to apply. He felt the make-up was not limiting to his acting, finding it "quite expressive". It was Steven Moffat's idea to set an episode in labrythian hotel, having often found himself disconcerted by the experience of staying in hotels in the past. So this guy who writes scripts and is the main show runner stays in a “Shining like” hotel and feels inspired to write a Dr who episode about it, I respect it! Inspired by real life events. There was a rumour that Rita was going to be the new companion going forward but that proved to be false. I think the Doctor in destroying Amy’s faith in him makes him realise that this is what happens with every companion he travels with and that leads him to have the strength to say goodbye. And can we have a moment of silence for poor Rory being smashed up against the wall by the door when the Minotaur came blundering through, that look painful I liked it, slightly darker story than most, Rita dying was a shame I liked her haven’t seen her in anything else and David Walliams was funny (mole man) Easy 1.5 roses. Shaggy beard. 3/5 stars What did the Doctor see in his room?

I like the Tardis in the background. It took a few minutes but it hit me, you said the one dude looked like a person from The Grinch movie. What were those people called ... Whos, as in Doctor Who....lol Is the Muslim girl his daughter, Cindy Lou Who? BTW the guy playing the Who dude is David Williams.

Charlie Matthews

I've just realised that having a Minotaur as the monster in a hotel that's like a labyrinth is a reference to the Greek myth, of Theseus and Minotaur (if you know your legends). Also it also reminds of the Backrooms upon re watching this, that movie and webseries could be a Doctor Who episode. My room would be spiders btw. Not the giant ones in Harry Potter or in B-Movies, I mean the ones in tropical jungles and the ones the size of your hand.
