Before we start with this insanely large wall of text... I just want to point out Hey ..You wanted this ..This is your doing ...K? ...K. Let's do thiwsss ---- First of all ..On the topic of women who are lesbian being depicted as having short hair ...Yes this is a bit of an issue in the media ...Hollywood is trying to be all progressive ..They love talking about it and being all "look at us" .."Look at how we're so progressive" ..Yet when showing a lesbian character ..Said character will often have short hair, wear tomboy clothes, act in a "boyish" way (because lesbians can't pooooossibly act feminine... right?)... For an industry that's trying to be all inclusive ..The way they do it isn't exactly helping ..It often leads to people complaining that some type of "agenda" is being pushed down our throats I hate to bring up the comparison ..Well ..No I don't (people STILL. complained about it ..cough.. bigots ..cough..) ...On Star Trek they treat same sex and non-binary sex (is that the correct term?) relationships as a non-issue (which is how it SHOULD. be) ...Now ofcourse those characters are living in the far future where accepting ones differences is considered normal ..It's the only Hollywood production that REALLY does this And THAT. is how Hollywood SHOULD. depict these characters (not JUST. Hollywood ..But y'know what I mean) ...Star Trek doesn't make a reference to characters sexual orientation cause it DOESN'T. MATTER. ...Nobody gets upset about someone being LGBTQ (or any other type of so called "difference") ..Cause it's normal to be accepted for who you are Anyways ...What I'm trying to say is ...These relationships ..The characters ..Shouldn't have to stand out by making them look different ...Their quote/unquote "difference" shouldn't even have to be addressed.. Much like it wasn't addressed in Star Trek (aside from perhaps an episode or 2 where the plotpoint was to show how in the future we overcame such bigotted views) ..You just knew ..But most the times it WASN'T important to the plot ..We treat straight people this way ..We shouldn't treat others (and I cringe by even saying "others") any different I don't contest that it's "important to be seen" ...But the real goal should be.. To JUST. BE. ACCEPTED. If we keep pointing it out ..People seem to have issues with it ...But... If we treat it as a non-issue (which it is.. it doesn't matter) then eventually (hopefully soon) people will just accept one another for who they are ...And we'll be one step closer to a better world Hehe ..You can thank Star Trek for giving me that viewpoint ..My upbringing sure as fuck didn't help there Anyways... So much for my TED Talk ..Let's get to the notes about the episodes 5x05: Soooooo.. Here's a few things that bothered me 1. What's with the damn secrets?! Why was this lady so adamant on not telling Al about where's she's from? "We're the future... But I can't tell you our name of where we are from" or whatever ...Bish ...These people need a new PR approach ...Her group sounds kinda sus ...They're also walking around in some funky futuristic armor ..Bish ..I'mma laugh my ass off if she's part of a group of time travellers (I'm pretty sure she's not.. this is a joke) 2. Al ...The fuck? ...Why the hell are you lying about where you were? Why does her one-day fling with some rando in an armored suit mean more to her than being honest with the group? 3. Ok ...Bit of a problem with this ...So you know me ...You know how when I speak a language that isn't my own ..I TRY. to sound less Dutch ...IF. I can ...I put some effort into it (if it's not for a joke) cause it's ..I dunno ..The right thing? If that makes sense So tell me Why do we have someone playing a character with a supposed background of having 2 Polish parents absolutely BUTCHER. the Polish pronounciation of her 2 last names??? Al SHOULD. know how to pronounce it properly ..And thus so should the actress playing the character Look... I'm not gonna pretend I speak Polish ...I looked this shit up after ...But her last name (Szewczyk Przygocki) sure as FUCK. ain't pronounced Sefcheck Prigocki ..That sounded American as FUCK. ....It's pronounced Chefchick Prisgaoki ..Yip ..Some letters dissappear and magically are added in the pronounciation ...Someone doing their job right would've done the research and studied the pronounciation over and over again before filming that scene Sorry... As someone whose first language ISN'T English ...It pisses me off sometimes that y'all don't put effort into it (No Shannan ..Your attempts at speaking Dutch are still funny to me ..You get a pass) Anyhoooos 5x06 The episode starts with a pretty cringey "epic" speech to some kids ...And all of a sudden they seem onboard with getting out of there ...BUT... Turns out it was all a bunch of time filler cause by the end of the episode they've done a complete 180 ...Some flip floppy writing there It took Al half an episode to throw sus at herself ...June caught on to the "No helicopter" lie QUICK. ...mumbles... ofcourse it was June ..she knows a thing or 2 about telling lies HA! They blew out the propeller and it went FLYING. ...Cut straight through a wall ..Pretty funny how a walker shows up with half of it sticking in his torso ...Dude was basically shuffling up.. Hand out like: "Grrrrr... You need this? Aaarrggh" ..A very helpful walker (who then gets taken out by Morgans new broomstick) But how awesome of a character death would it have been if that propellor flew off and the camera had panned over and people suddenly look shocked as one of them (maybe a kid ..they love killing kids) just slowly falls to the ground in 2 pieces? Ok so Morgans time with his trusty stick is over ...Mah dude is gonna have to get a new weapon ...I counted 2 new ones in this episode so far ...Some weird stick with a handle and later on as I mentioned he apparently fucked up a broom ...I guess mah dude is trying out options That's all for now ...I'm making these notes AFTER. I watched the episodes now as opposed to doing it WHILE. watching... Not how I used to do it ..So I may be missing some things ...But since you like to have some comments on these recordings ...There you go Maybe I'll do this more often now that we're into the stuff I (we both) haven't seen before ...IF. I feel like it Have fun watching ..Don't forget your plushie ..Ya' big baby ;)
