Clara told the kid reading the book the next chapter is "the best one", it made her cry. Expectation spoiler, Jeez. Hmm, the next chapter was the 11th, as in 11th Doctor is the best one. hmmm. The author of the book is Amelia Williams, the married name of Amy Pond. I'm no Who fan but my gues as to why they still act like the Doctor is alive. He is a time traveller and these episodes may occur before he died in the timeline. Therefore they do not know he is supposedly dead. After all, I thought that the point at which he died was supposed to be in the future a few years, like 2028. The door closing on the Tardis might be a continuity error or maybe the Tardis has automatically closing door if the Doctor gets too far away. I mean if the doors at the grocery store can do that, I imagine the Tardis can too. It could also be a time thing. Auto closes and 30 seconds.

Hey Shan hope you’re okay and not lost in the sauce. You asked where the phrase "cross my heart and hope to die" came from, well it originated in the United States during the late 19th century as a spoken oath. The physical act of drawing a small cross over your chest has religious roots and comes from old Christian traditions. Over time, adults stopped using it, and it turned into a common playground rhyme for children. That’s how I know it, with the “stick a needle in my eye” added for dramatic effect. Back to the Who. Ellie Oswald (Clara’s mum) is shown to have died on March 5, 2005, that’s the same air-date as Rose. Maybe a plastic person (Auton) killed her, we don’t know how she died. You are not alone this episode was ranked as Doctor Who Magazine readers' least favourite Eleventh Doctor story in their 50th anniversary poll of 2014. Which is crazy to me because it’s not a bad story, not to me anyways, I love the music and the songs you’ve got some singing, lots of aliens and a whole Camden market feel to the alien world. Just adventures with the Doctor and a planet that tries to eat you. The concept behind having the episode based around an alien planet occurred to Steven Moffat, Caroline Skinner, and Marcus Wilson (producer and writer) when realising they had done big location pieces in the first half of the season with A Town Called Mercy and The Angels Take Manhattan, (now those were some dodgy episodes) but had none for the second half. They decided to do a story set in "a world created in our studios to make you really feel like you're out there", rather than having the Doctor "promise unearthly wonders to his companions, and then get them trapped in an underground tunnel". As such, the episode was designed to allow the Doctor to actually show his new companion the wonders he had promised. Jenna-Louise Coleman named this one of her favourites episodes of the second half of the seventh series, as it was the first adventure for Clara which allowed the audience to watch the story begin again. I wonder what that blue stuff tasted like? Clara didn’t go back for more but the Doctor did he was chomping on it at the end. The singing elevates the episode like a Dalek at the bottom of a staircase. Two roses.

This is a meh episode for me, I'd honestly forgotten almost all of it except for Doc's speech to the "god" at the end. Found the singing a bit cringe-inducing but that might just be me. As usual, watchable for Matt Smith's acting. I do think the episode's musings on the impact that a single tiny event can have on the world, and how it can change history, were theoretically interesting as well, the episode just didn't present it very effectively for me somehow.

Classic series spoilers The doctor mentioned his granddaughter in this episode, he had a granddaughter in classic who back during the beginning of the show Susan was her name and she was the first ever companion of Doctor Who
